We take a look at an exhibition at the National Gallery of Australia that’s putting the focus on female artists. The gallery says it came about after an audit showed that only 25% of its permanent collection was created by women. We find out why female artists have historically taken a back seat to their more famous male counterparts and what’s being done to change that.
TEACHER RESOURCES
Students will explore a female artist’s work in detail. They will also create a biography of an artist. Visual Arts - Years 5-8.
