They where essentially in the middle of a rainforest! If he rain there was a high chance of him getting lost or killed. He probably felt his chances with the police where better then in nature
Will you return when the police are able to make it to the mines? Sadly, this did not show the connection to the large companies conclusively. Yes, it mentioned Apple, but can you continue to show the trail from Amazon to Apple? Is this just part one? I hope there is more. It is worth sharing if the whole process from illegal mining to it entering our phones etc. How is gold in my phone again? Thank you for doing the real stories deserving investigation!
He basically explained it, the illegal gold goes to a legit gold company and pays them essentially blood money to get a certificate that the illegal gold is from a legal mining operation (it's not). Then they use that certificate to sell to 3rd parties who think its coming from a trusted source.
All the cops shown in the video are definitely brazilians. They speak good english because they are well educated, they are also Federal Police, which is harder to get in.
Dutch who speaks Portuguese with a clear regional accent? Clearly he is Brazilian, the problem for those of you outside of Brazil is that you think there are only indigenous people and black people living in Brazil. When in fact almost half of the population here is white, mainly in the southeast and south...
All of them. And many other minerals, such as copper and cobalt. You may have heard of the slaves in Congo digging cobalt with their bare hands. And this is then used in our tech, especially electric vehicles but all others too. If you have a mobile phone, you can be pretty sure the cobalt in it was mined by a slave worker, even a child, in Congo. Very much illegal and all the companies deny that their products use this cobalt, but if you dig deeper, the sad and terrifying truth is very apparent; all of the companies use a variety of materials dug up by modern day slaves while the environments in those countries is being ruthlessly wrecked and very little is done about it. It's simply too profitable.

Leadership is a facade, who leader our countries are the bussiness and rich families. A cover up democracy. @@PegsFlamingoville I don't think that they're being sarcastic. I think they are saying it for real and support illegal mining if they get a benefit from it. That's how the Black Market exists, by consumers who consciously support it.
