It seems to me that the restauranteur is freely letting the lion starve to death and the tiger with the wound to die of infection, because then he can stuff them and make more money. In his mind, it doesn’t make sense to pay for medical bills. Absolutely sickening.

When I was a child, my neighbours had two lion cubs that they bottle raised and I was able to feed and pet them. Their mum was killed by poachers and they were found starving by the side of the road. As they got a little older, they were placed in an animal sanctuary that imitated the natural environment as closely as possible while also keeping them and humans safe. You can't release them, because they're used to humans and it's dangerous. But you can't keep them as pets. It's dangerous no matter how they were raised, and it's cruel. They need a big enclosure that is as close to their natural habitat as possible. Even as babies they were cared for by the sanctuary but kept in a huge enclosure at the home, to be able to bottle feed them and check on them regularly, by the way. They weren't owned by private people for the cuteness of it all. It was a wildlife rescue sanctuary.
It is rife here in the United States, specifically North Central Florida. Big cats are treated as a commodity. They are sold for their meat and skins and it is totally legal. I’ve know about Mexicos exotic pet trade since I was a little kid. Animal plant was my favorite show and they would talk about it on documentaries! It’s so sad! They even stuff drugs in domesticated animals and then just cut them out when the get across the border!Leaving them to die or they die cause drugs leak throw the bags and poison them!💔😢
Growing up my mom often told me stories about how she or her family members had seen escaped lions or tigers out in the mountains when they were kids. This was in the state of Guerrero though
A family in the small town i lived in had big cats. The daughters friend wanted her senior pictures with a tiger. It killed her. Eventually, they chased the family out of town.
Came back from visiting Cancun, specifically Playa del Carmen last weekend and saw about 4-5 big cat cubs just running around in a shop on Calle Quinta. Made me sad as fuck. People were asked not to take pictures either because “pictures are for a fee” so I told them in Spanish they all were pieces of shit and made sure everyone around me knew that what they are doing should be illegal and to not pay for pictures. Shit still has me hot as fuck how mfs in Mexico are just openly showing off these lil babies and profiting off them. I wish someone would do sum about it.
That first pair live better than most zoos. Just saying. I know that’s not the norm and they should never be kept as pets but they are living the dream
Absolutely despicable. People are “showing off” caged animals taken from their natural habitats like they’re art on a wall… there is life in those cages and locked up in chains. Zoos & Animal “Parks” do the same thing (see the doc “Blackfish”.) How would the trappers, sellers, and buyers like it if they were kidnapped, caged, and chained up to be marveled? How would they like their freedom and life taken away at a moment’s notice because someone wealthy want to stare at them all day?? So selfish and literally insane on all sides. Anyone who thinks this is “just business” or “pleasure” have no soul inside.
I was gifted a lion cub for my quinceañera. At the time, I thought I was the luckiest girl and bragged to my friends that I got a lion for my birthday. I grew up in the Midwest, so I couldn't take my lion with me, so he remained in Texas until he became too much for my family to handle. He was relocated to the San Antonio Zoo, where he lived out the remainder of his life. Seeing this video as an adult horrifies me. That I played a part in this kind of animal trade. I love cats, big and small. As an adult, I foster neonate kittens and older cats with behavioral problems so that they can find loving homes. I feel I can never do enough to right this wrong.
I went to one of those markets and found cardinals, parrots, sparrows, mockingbirds, and black throated magpies. A bird I wanted to see for myself but not in captivity
And the thing is fb has a policy prohibiting animal sales, but if a post is reported nothing happens. Guy is selling antlers from various exotic species (a clear violation of fb policy) and they won't remove the post. But I can appeal. *eye roll*

I just think that wild animals should be in their natural habitat. Where they belong. It disgusts me how people impulsively buy these animals like objects. Most of these creatures are endangered anyway.

I feel really sorry for the cats. Thanks for exposing this.
No animal should be killed to obtain the offspring. There are a lot accusations of mother animals being killed so humans can buy and sell them.
