It’s an elegant room. I don’t understand the negative comments. Do they expect you to change the room to match their taste? Why say anything negative at all?
Just my personal preference...but the way that Ali filmed his dressing room reveal was so professional and really aesthetically pleasing. Perhaps he could do some of the filming for these room reveals too?
the feel of the room is a perfect marriage between high end glam, and a sociable, cosy space . i love it! definitely not just another grey room in a grey instagram home!
WOAH WOAH WOAH eeeeze off with all the judgmental comments. We have to learn to share peoples excitement and joy. WHY do you care to have Lydia know YOU don't like her dining room? Sorry to say love but she didn't design the room for you. She designed it for herself, for herself to enjoy everyday and to feel joyful when she would walk into it. It's embarrassing how everyone seems to think they know best and that you think you have the best sense of style 😂 Sending love and kisses to you all who still haven't found self love and hope you find it soon so you can spread love and not jealousy😘♥️
I'm so pleased you're happy with this room. For me the rug is too small and the armchairs are pushed up against the wall like a doctor's waiting room. Not my cup of tea at all and the artwork is all wrong. I do like the panelling and the wall sconces. They are beautiful.
Spot on! Please don't change the way you film these. Your taste is amazing and you do a great job of explaining it all. I can't wait to see more! Beautiful room, I absolutely love the blue and I am not a blue person! Inspiring!
Okay, so if you ask, my two cents: Dining table too small, rug too small, I would change the armchair for two matching side tables ore one table and a big monstera plant near the window, the artwork looks wedged in the panelling, the chairs are not dining table chairs and the chandelier is not made for a table also. You need a total different sort of lamp over a table. One that illumantes the table but does not bedazzle the people sitting at the table. Colours are beautiful, I love the nude and the navy blue combination, also the pattern of the rug is wonderul. The sideboard with the wonky doors... well. I would change it if all the others things are so expensive. Also I would chose a not so dark color.
...the more I think about it/\/\/\/\~could be; because the table is marble, it's probably going to reflect any kind of light fixture if it is brought down lower or is bigger. I think there would be a glare. The only other kind compatible to the sphere/sputnik would be; the orb with a crystal chandelier inside the metal orb...but even with that, if it comes down lower the white of the marble is going to glare. That's probably why it doesn't extend down like most would.
Eily Bergin totally agree with you. I feel it needs mirrors instead of the artwork on that wall. I would get rid of the upper trim so artwork can hang and look better. The dinning room table top would look better if it was wood. Love the blues and grey wall. I would reposition the bar cart as well.... hmmm a beautiful wallpaper would look stunning on the wall.
Julie no might have asked for her opinion. But that's what comment section is there for, to give feedback. Plus it's not like she was rude she just was giving advise.
the artwork inside the paneling is just... not quite hitting the mark. the right and left pieces don’t feel like the worst of the 3 fitted in the panelling (but still feel awkward) but the center piece is so awkwardly smooshed in there. someone suggested mirrors there and i feel like that would bring a more luxe touch. that’s the first thing i always notice in that room (and not in a good way). meaning this as constructive feedback as a designer, btw.
Taste is subjective and I’m happy you’re so in love with the space because that’s really all that matters, you’re the only one that sees it daily. However, as an interior designer myself I have to say I’m not a fan.
Amazing. You are obviously not here for negativity feedback to change things. You are here to show us your journey of the interior design and inspire people. Lovely how you coordinate the grey, copper & blue even down to the paintings that fit so well. Every colour and piece is tied so well together and you should be proud. Very elegant ❤️
I always think that functionality needs to be incorporated into interior design and you certainly nailed it.The cork holder is a darling idea and the round table is so warm and inviting. What a wonderful start of your room tours- can’t wait to see more!!!❤️
So pretty! One of my favorite color is a navy blue, to me their is a richness to it. I love round dining tables and too often that shape is overlooked for dining rooms, I wish I hadn't. They work very well in a smaller space. This is not meant as a criticism but a tidbit of info for those who haven't begun to decorate, when you put a rug under a table, make sure it is big enough that when the chairs are pulled out from the table they are still on the rug. If you can't like Lydia know that the legs will catch on the edges of the rug and will be difficult for guests to scoot in while dining. Such a lovely room!
I agree!Actually, I have a round wooden table (Drexel) w/four (Windsor) chairs in my kitchen, (it has two leaves to extend the table) and in Dining room, another round; it's glass-top, wrought-iron&wood pedestal, w/four iron chairs, and then, two upholstered chairs either side of a long rectangle sofa/foyer table I use as a "server." I like round, too! I LOVE the marble, as my counter-tops are white Corian, but I do have lots of "marble" trays in my kitchen. I like the eclectic mixing of stones, metals and woods...
Lol that literally 90% of these comments are people pointing out all the things they don’t like in this room when my guess is none of them have a room as nicely styled in their houses. Honestly.... thanks for filming! Very casual and easy to watch. Can’t wait for more instalments 😍😍
The only thing I could point out that I don't like as much is the same as most in the comments, those two cream arm chairs i just don't think they go well with the rest of the room honestly i think the room may look better without them! I love the room but those chairs aren't my favorite but honestly if you changed the throw pillows to something with a blue pattern they would look much better in my opinion !
May I suggest some porcelain chinoiserie vases or bowls to accent the top of the sideboard. They're very popular at the moment, yet totally timeless, and the white and blue would look perfect in there! Gorgeous room!
I don't know about your friends but I would be terrified of spilling something on your 4 figures rug or your Carrara marble... It doesn't seem a very "relaxing" room to me 🤪 but other than that it's truly beautiful
The vlog worked perfectly, I love your decorating and your choices and I think the panels tie it all together. It's fun to see what is in the drawers! It gives a great personal feeling to a home tour. I have really enjoyed the slow unveiling of your rooms.
This room is amazingly decorated! I love everything about it and cannot say one negative thing!! Love the navy blue, it’s so elegant in my opinion! And you look amazing too! That outfit is to die for! Cannot wait to see more room tours in the coming weeks!! 💗💗
That blue color is so gorgeous. I hope you have many beautiful dinners in your new dining room. By the way, the curtains are perfect just the way they are, puddling the drapes on the floor is very in style and quite glamorous.
I loved it Lydia and will watch them all, no matter how you film them. But since you are asking: I always love the way Ali films and edits so if you can get him to do bits in between you talking and explaining that would be so cool!
Some thought...I think a dark rectangle table would be stunning with the beautiful blue chairs. Round table not a fan of. The chairs look squished to fit.
Loved this style of room tour I felt as if You were taking us round the room as a friend would not a salesperson. Your vision for the room works very well , love the round table and the flash of colour with the chairs and rug . Really welcoming like you said not over the top when you are worried to sit and enjoy the evening. Overall beautiful room created by an equally beautiful lady . Well done everyone for the hard work 😓. Take care everyone 😉
I loved the way you filmed this - perfect mix of informal vlog style with some arty detail shots - just perfect. Thanks for sharing the room and I look forward to more! It's a beautiful room.
started reading the comments first and expected this room to look kind of cluttered and with lack of personality BUT I actually think it's the opposite! I LOVE the light fixture and I think the choice to do a round table with bright blue chairs is very unique! my only issue is the cream rug because I'd be so nervous about spills but it does look gorgeous. I think this room actually looks cozy and fun!
Such a beautiful color scheme. Love the table and chairs! So modern. They go well with the gold lighting and wall paneling. Those 2 white chairs seem extra and are crowing the room. Maybe doing some tall glass/gold shelves would be a nicer replacement, and might make the room look even more open and airy. Stunning dining room.
Lydia, I'd love to see a small fuchsia orchid on the bar cart, would be beautiful with the blue color (They last for months and months). I love when bar carts have all the fixings...ice bucket, utensils and mixers. Adding a little frame with a catchy phrase or perhaps a snapshot pic from your wedding of the bar with friends gathered around, favorite toast or drink being prepared. It is beautifully decorated and must be so cozy for entertaining!
The pieces are good but they are all at one side of the room, a suggestion maybe to put the 2 chairs In front of the window slightly angled towards each other. Move the sideboard to wall that is to the left as you enter leaving the largest wall without any furniture. Placing furniture on both ends and the center makes it feel evenly balanced. Your table will be the sole focus as you enter. Put a small rectangle rug under the chairs and possible a small side or coffee table between them so it becomes a small sitting area.
That was amazing Lydia!!! Also loved the way you filmed it and talked through how you decided on each piece. What a beautiful room!!! Keep them coming. Looking forward to the next video .xxx
It’s gorgeous. I love it. I don’t know why but I do wish the artwork pieces were all the same size. I’m with you on the cornices & ceiling critiquing. Overall, I believe you’ve made a brilliant job of it. For your first attempt at interior design, you should be extremely proud 🍾🥂⭐️ I also love the raw reality of not dusting the glasses. You are unbelievably down to earth with the classiest of twists. Which is why you are adored by many!
Love this room! Very strong mix between natural and modern tones! What also would look great on this room is perhaps putting a big banana leaf plant in the left corner in the back instead of the cream chair, to give it a more playful touch to this room!
Every thing about this video was perfect. Really looking forward to more. It's given me so much inspiration and also the courage to go bolder with colours. Thankyou. X
I love this room and the style of the video. I love especially that you’ve done it so modern, with all of the current Instagram trends. It really suits your age and is lovely to see it so trendy and current. I am obsessed with velvet, blue, dark wood and panelling and haven’t had the courage to do it as I was so worried about it dating/ becoming unfashionable but this room has made me want to take the plunge! I can’t wait to see the rest!
Its very stylish. But (this is just me) the chairs don't feel like dining room chairs, they feel like lounging around chill chairs, not food eating in chairs. They're a gorgeous colour though.
Please please please don’t be disheartened by the comments, all these so called ‘interior designers’ that are making rather rude comments should realise that design is completely subjective to the person. You’ve put so much time and effort in designing a room that fits for you and your lifestyle and I personally love this room and can’t wait to see the others. Keep doing you! Xx
Hey Lydia! Love you so much! I was just going to suggest maybe to only have one large paint on the wall as it fits so nicely within wall molding and remove two short ones. Or. Have all three painting be the same size as the middle large one. In my opinion it makes room not as balanced as it could be. Room is stunning - this is just a suggestion! So happy for you!
Beautiful. I’m so glad you went with the pop of colour. Navy works so well. The walls look almost taupe to me though not Grey! I’m well aware seeing through a lens is entirely different to reality. I think you should take 1 chair out and have a statement floor lamp in brass!x
Loved it! :) - also feel like I need those curtains, they are really understated but suit the room so well. I love how you have tied the brass in to all of the different accents pieces as well, a well thought out room :) very keen to see your bedroom - it looks to die for from what I’ve seen of it so far! 😍
honestly don’t know why people are saying negative things about this. if you have an opinion just keep it to yourself because from the before pictures you can see how much effort, time, and money has gone into this and it looks amazing
c x Simply proving the old adage "money can't buy you style " . Lydia gets her fashion style so right but her interiors are so goddamn serious , stitched up and 'proper' . All her rooms look very 'don't touch me , mess me up or sit on me ' . I'll guarantee (within 5 yrs max) she will break free , unleash her gut style and look back at these showrooms and say 'WTFFFFFwas I thinking '
I’m from the United States and here our dining room is attached to our kitchen, Ive never seen it done this way, very cool!!! So cozy and intimate, love it 👏🏼👏🏼
I don't know what's more great... how beautiful this room is? Or the fact that your whole outfit matches this room perfectly, even right down to your shoes! Intentional?
great vid, love how this was filmed and hope that the next videos are filmed like this too. Love your shoes in this vid! looking forward to the next room tour!
If you take the two club chairs out and pull two blue chairs away from the table to replace them; the table will look more open as well as the wall. Plus the color will be more dispersed. When friends come over you can drag everything back to the table and dance around the room!
Stunning. You’ve done a wonderful job. Very tasteful! I’ve also gone with a round Carrara marble dining table and royal blue velvet chairs. Such a beautiful combination.
Me again, unbelievable to see how people nit pick and criticize your hard work, wow I would like to see their homes. Thank you for sharing and inspiring,it’s fab....could you tell me which Ikea curtains they are pleeeeeeese?
I think it's because of the Collector's vodka bottle she showed that was on her bar in that room. It IS a very pretty bottle! Actually, "I" would display that bottle either on the Buffet server or center of the marble table inside a lacquered/mirrored/NAVY tray ~ show it off!
First and foremost, you are a stunning Italian goddess in that jumpsuit. My fave elements of this room: the sputnick light, the artwork, the floors and the paneling. Least fave pieces are the centerpiece on the table ( I would have gone for icy blue eucalyptus and cream roses), the sideboard ( I would have chose a tone similar to the wood floors) and the placement of the bar cart ( I would have it angled in the corner as opposed to flat against). For a wine rack I suggest a countertop version in brass placed on the sideboard. Love you!
Such a beautiful dining room! I loved it! LYDIA DON'T TAKE THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS, AS LONG AS YOU LIKE YOUR SPACE, IT'S ALL GOOD GIRL YOU ARE THE ONE LIVING THERE. LOVE YA ❤️
Was looking forward to the series so much! Well done Lydia, the room looks absolutely beautiful, I love the colours, it’s perfect. I liked the format of the video too. To make it even better, you could get Ali to film all the B roll in his trademark style and then instead of holding the camera, use a tripod so it’s a static shot and easier on the eye. His transition editing is so on point too, so that could make it even better 👌🏾👌🏾
Love the room, you’ve decorated it so well and presents so much elegance and sophistication. I agree with you the cream chairs finish off the room, and love the little details you’ve done to ensure the room was perfect. Also, great style of vlogging for this series, it suits you and your channel! 😁❤️
It’s an elegant room.
I don’t understand the negative comments. Do they expect you to change the room to match their taste? Why say anything negative at all?
My favorite part is how excited and happy you are to share everything!!!! 😊😃❤️❤️Thanks for sharing.
Just my personal preference...but the way that Ali filmed his dressing room reveal was so professional and really aesthetically pleasing. Perhaps he could do some of the filming for these room reveals too?
agree
Totally agree with this comment! Ali behind the camera (he is very good at filming) and Lydia in front of the camera showing around!
Gorgeous....I would use that as a buffet table and store your formal dinnerware napkins n utensils instead of the games.
the feel of the room is a perfect marriage between high end glam, and a sociable, cosy space . i love it! definitely not just another grey room in a grey instagram home!

Try angling the occasional chairs in the corners so things don’t feel so pushed up against the walls
Spot on! Please don't change the way you film these. Your taste is amazing and you do a great job of explaining it all. I can't wait to see more! Beautiful room, I absolutely love the blue and I am not a blue person! Inspiring!

I think she needs to hire you. And get her money back from whatever interior designer she worked with for this room.

A larger floral centerpiece incorporating the neutral tones on the room with accents of blue; is all the room needs. Really Beautiful!!
Totally agree about the floral centerpiece. It needs to be larger, non-structured with accents of blue.
My thoughts exactly! The flower arrangement needs to be more of a statement and incorporate the blue tones that are in the room.
I loveeee the colors , the art, the lighting . Beautiful!
This looks so much more like an office than a dining room to me.
It is beautiful, but the artwork looks a bit squeezed in between the trim.
Same
I agree, it’s kind of one or the other.
I agree, it's awkward.
Agreed!
Agree that’s always bothered me, lol.
Glad you love it, that is ALL that matters...
Taste is subjective and I’m happy you’re so in love with the space because that’s really all that matters, you’re the only one that sees it daily. However, as an interior designer myself I have to say I’m not a fan.

Am I the only person who likes the panels plain?! I feel like adding art kills the vibe. LOVEEEE THE WHOLE ROOM SO BEAUTIFULLLLL 😍😍😍
Sorry...I love her choices for the artwork! They compliment the navy chairs, and the rug. She was lucky to find the art to fit as well as they did.
Donna Conrad she didn’t find the artwork. She commissioned it.
Trini Mel I know. I worded my sentence incorrectly. Regardless of how it came to be, I like it! 👍😊✌️

Beautiful Lydia!!!
Xx
Stunning the royal blues is so rich and lux
Another stylish comfortable room love the shades of blue you've used also a very practical room👌
Love how stunning the room looks 💙 and I love what your wearing xx
I love the Vlog style room tour, it's a great way to see and hear your thoughts on how to bring a room together. Great first room tour!!! I
I love it, the room looks beautiful. Can't wait for the rest of the series
I have a cork collection and on special trips or occasions we put the date on it to know where and when they are from.
Mrs. J cute idea!
Thx for the lovely tour. The most important thing is that you're happy
w the result of your hardwork. Your
outfit looks so beautiful on you.🌹
I love the rom!! The colors are beautiful. The light is my favorite piece in the room, very interesting and different.
Wow! Your dining room is absolutely beautiful! I love the pops of blue. Also, your outfit looks amazing on you!
Oh my goodness it is absolutely beautiful. My favorite thing is the dining table and chairs.
honestly don’t know why people are saying negative things about this. if you have an opinion just keep it to yourself because from the before pictures you can see how much effort, time, and money has gone into this and it looks amazing
c x Simply proving the old adage "money can't buy you style " .
😂😂😂😂
I’m from the United States and here our dining room is attached to our kitchen, Ive never seen it done this way, very cool!!! So cozy and intimate, love it 👏🏼👏🏼
i'm so excited about the new staircase!
Love it! The blue pop of color is divine!
Jeeeejjj!! Finally the room tours are starting! You must be so insanely excited that this is happening! So happy for you :)
If you take the two club chairs out and pull two blue chairs away from the table to replace them; the table will look more open as well as the wall. Plus the color will be more dispersed.
When friends come over you can drag everything back to the table and dance around the room!
Your outfit is gorgeous Lyds!
Love the items individually, they are stunning pieces, but but together, not for me.
Terrie Flanigan because this video is uploaded for us to view and comment about?
You won’t see their homes, not everybody films and upload their sad and grey life as the nuts couple does.
It looks amazing, Lydia! Please explain why you call it Russian tho?:) is it because of navy blue?
I’m Russian and I’m a bit confused 🤷🏼♀️ 🙃
I think it's because of the Collector's vodka bottle she showed that was on her bar in that room. It IS a very pretty bottle! Actually, "I" would display that bottle either on the Buffet server or center of the marble table inside a lacquered/mirrored/NAVY tray ~ show it off!
i'm wondering the same thing lol
Maybe because the main central light fixture is a Sputnik style light.
Rosa R There Ya Go! That makes more sense! 👍✌️
The room looks beautiful and I am loving the blue chairs they look so comfortable xx
I know this about decor, but I have to say your outfit in this video is so elegant, Lydia.
Love the room, you’ve decorated it so well and presents so much elegance and sophistication. I agree with you the cream chairs finish off the room, and love the little details you’ve done to ensure the room was perfect.
Also, great style of vlogging for this series, it suits you and your channel! 😁❤️
