I told my mom to buy me an old school hip hop mixed album when I was about 10, 16 years ago and this was on it amongst sugar hill gang but this record has always stuck with me, it was ahead of its time, In the 80s nobody was really rhyming like this, not much especially at this level and rhyming for long also, RIP JIMMY.
I bought this on vinyl when it first came out...I wore it thin. Jimmy Spicer was pure talent. The South Bronx loved him. The song in the background, Rock Skate Roll Bounce, was being scratched on turn tables all across housing project playgrounds in the Bronx. Great rhymes, funny, great voice, clarity, etc. We rocked him in all our house parties. One of the true trail blazers of hip hop. He deserves way more credit than he gets. God bless him. I told my mom to buy me an old school hip hop mixed album when I was about 10, 16 years ago and this was on it amongst sugar hill gang but this record has always stuck with me, it was ahead of its time, In the 80s nobody was really rhyming like this, not much especially at this level and rhyming for long also, RIP JIMMY.

I bought this on vinyl when it first came out...I wore it thin. Jimmy Spicer was pure talent. The South Bronx loved him. The song in the background, Rock Skate Roll Bounce, was being scratched on turn tables all across housing project playgrounds in the Bronx. Great rhymes, funny, great voice, clarity, etc. We rocked him in all our house parties. One of the true trail blazers of hip hop. He deserves way more credit than he gets. God bless him. If you ever read this Jimmy, THANK YOU Brother!!

I haven't heard this song in over 30yrs. One of my friends made me a tape with this song on it while he was in New York back in the early 80s. I never ever heard this song played on any radio station.
