Yeah. While I don't hate them doing the match-up again, and I absolutely loved the episode, I do think maybe this whole thing would've been better received if Supes & Goku both had matches with other opponents before they re-did this one.
I feel like this version of the battle was the most accurate of their characters overall and how they would act if they fought, that and the animation is what actually made this 1 the best version of the battle to me. Win, lose or draw; I think that having the 2 of them actually enjoy the battle is the most satisfying ending.

@@afellownerd Makes sense, magic and Kryptonite are the only things that have much of a chance at stopping Superman, but they have to be used very early on to hinder his power growth, SUperman naturally holds back as much as he can, and ramps up his effort based on the threat, but this is between the characters, nothing outside theor own gear is allowed, Goku has no magic that can effect SUperman much, and he'd never use Kryptonite.

I will say that you know what I’m not even upset. At this point I will say that I appreciate the fact that they’re making the other two parts canon. They’re kind of making a story out of it. We’re now Superman sort of gets that Goku isn’t a bad evil person, but can be immature, when it comes to responsibility of keeping the earth safe, he just wants to fight a really strong formidable opponent. Superman understands that so instead of trying to stop him at this point he’s like you know what I accept you as my rival or sparring partner so now they respect each other. Quite frankly I think that we don’t really need anymore of this.
Death battles are biased. They only have superman winning because they're fanboys. They always make the character who is more popular win. Goku destroys superman and it isn't even close.

@@JayceCH. You're looking at this from a rather shallow perspective. A lot of people have accepted the battle for what it is. Sure, the few thinks at this from purely a Power and Feats perspective, but this battle stayed faithful to the characters' behaviors until the end.
Honestly, I don't care if one of them win or lose, they're both one of my favorite characters and all that matters to me is that the animation is good and the fight was very entertaining.
This DB is special because it had something the other 2 didn't: it was fun. The characters were portrayed as having fun. The message reminded us these battles, despite being focused on rationalizing and statistics, are supposed to be fun. The Goku v Supes videos I think are a meta commentary on fandoms as a whole, who believe it's better to win and be in the right than to have fun.
Best way to sum up this death battle "Do you know the meaning of insanity? It means to do the same thing over and over whilst expecting a different outcome"
Gotta say a couple of things, even if the reaction is good. -CC Goku (a version of a Goku from Heroes that has gone through the events of Super) fought Xeno Goku and won thanks to Ultra Instinct. -UI has been countered with pure speed before, as we see especially with Black Freiza. -Superman has trained with Batman and Wonder Woman in martial arts, as well as learning two Kryptonian martial arts, one of which performs what is essentially Ultra Instinct. -The biggest takeaway from this fight is that they treated both characters with respect rather that deriding either like in GvS2.

Unlike the credit he was given in this video but that probably was just a joke for all ik. While Superman isn't as skilled of a fighter, it's not like he just don't know martail arts at all.
The new DB also actually forgot to mention he had even more training during the Warworld Saga recently. He learned to fight in an alien gladiator arena with limited powers without killing and it got him the title “the Unblooded Sword”. Pretty bad ass. He got the new power up they mentioned about the White Sun thing after that.
While I'm disappointed in the outcome, I am happy with how it happened. This is either the best or second best way theu could've handled it (with it being more in line with a friendly sparring session)

It’s a reference to both. World Forger in that arc kind of referenced Prime One Million by calling Superman “The Prime” and saying he’s the only Superman in the Multiverse with the potential to beat him. His feat after that is basically a glimpse at what Prime One Million could be. Future State shows it’s still one of many possible futures and calls P1M a champion of the Omniverse.
Side-note: Death Battle, and its intern, confirmed that every DBZ/S Universe is actually, technically, canon. Meaning Xenoverse is, technically, canon as well.
Probably not. Especially with all the reboots now being basically consolidated into 1 version in canon sorta. That said I wouldn't mind this battle getting redone every couple years while DB media keeps growing just for the love they put into the animations

Every time I seen Goku using ultra instinct, he’s very serious. This is the first time I seen Goku having fun while using ultra instinct I believe that would have made the difference in the end that Kamehameha would have Knox superman back to krypton.

I feel like one of the reasons why Superman wins it's simply because he's been around longer, which gives him plenty of feats under his belt, whether canon or not. For Goku to potentially be on Superman's level, he would probably have to be around for at least 80 more years.
Death Battle actually confirmed that Goku beats literally every other incarnation of Superman aside from the main one, sooo... that's something to take away from it, at least.
Except that giant robot Superman they mentioned and appears in one of those flashes of the multiverse in the middle of the fight (the last one where he’s fighting Xeno Goku). But Thought Robot is just a Cosmic Armor for the Main canon Superman anyway, with all his meta/fourth wall breaking significance to the Multiverse literalized. Superman’s consciousness was put in it to fight a cosmic multiversal vampire that literally ate stories.

IIRC Val is weaker or equal to New 52 Earth 2 Clark, who's actually not that strong as he was defeated in Steppenwolf's invasion even without Darkseid. Not so sure about Anti-Life Superman but if you mean DCeased, he's arguably just a zombie version of Superman Pre-Anti-Reboot and Pre-Warworld Saga, making him weaker than Jon (both his and Earth 0 Jon). I actually know less about DB/Goku but I'm sure Super/Cc Goku currently can at least beat those two from what I've seen. But yeah I already discussed who Thought Robot is above, Milkman is similarly meta, Prime One Million's a given since he's just Earth 0 Superman's future with a GL ring and permanently sun-dipped, and SBP at peak should be equal to Pre-Crisis. These guys take it for sure. The first two especially. Edit: I’d also add Superman from Strange Visitor. Two things: A 1, At least Death Battle said Goku could defeat other versions of Superman. Just not the main one. 2, At least Goku and Clark was buddy buddy at the end, because I get the feeling that they would be friends.
The anime characters you are looking for that can take on Superman are Haruhi, Elder God Demonbane (We Don't Talk About Elder God Demonbane, it's more-so a visual novel anyway), and literally any character from the Fate series. Definitely a lot others, but these are just some prominent examples.
Superman needs stars to roid out to win fights like these. Superman's limit is lower than Goku's, Goku's limits just keep rising. He can sun dip to temporarily increase his power far beyond what he is naturally capable of. But that proves he is weaker. Goku uses the spirit bomb when he isn't strong enough to beat his enemies, and Superman uses a strategic retreat to get roids (ie sun dips).

It’s a reference to both. World Forger in that arc kind of referenced Prime One Million by calling Superman “The Prime” and saying he’s the only Superman in the Multiverse with the potential to beat him. His feat after that is basically a glimpse at what Prime One Million could be. Future State shows it’s still one of many possible futures and calls P1M a champion of the Omniverse.
Side-note: Death Battle, and its intern, confirmed that every DBZ/S Universe is actually, technically, canon. Meaning Xenoverse is, technically, canon as well.

Future Superman, Milkman, Val Zod, Superboy Prime, Anti-Life Superman are all just different versions of Superman and not like Cosmic Armor Superman...they stomp even Zeno Goku.

Every time I seen Goku using ultra instinct, he’s very serious. This is the first time I seen Goku having fun while using ultra instinct I believe that would have made the difference in the end that Kamehameha would have Knox superman back to krypton.

I feel like one of the reasons why Superman wins it's simply because he's been around longer, which gives him plenty of feats under his belt, whether canon or not. For Goku to potentially be on Superman's level, he would probably have to be around for at least 80 more years.
ALso GOku hasn't reached much past universe level power, SUperman has in his Prime version.

But Thought Robot is just a Cosmic Armor for the Main canon Superman anyway, with all his meta/fourth wall breaking significance to the Multiverse literalized. Superman’s consciousness was put in it to fight a cosmic multiversal vampire that literally ate stories.

IIRC Val is weaker or equal to New 52 Earth 2 Clark, who's actually not that strong as he was defeated in Steppenwolf's invasion even without Darkseid. Not so sure about Anti-Life Superman but if you mean DCeased, he's arguably just a zombie version of Superman Pre-Anti-Reboot and Pre-Warworld Saga, making him weaker than Jon (both his and Earth 0 Jon). I actually know less about DB/Goku but I'm sure Super/Cc Goku currently can at least beat those two from what I've seen.
But yeah I already discussed who Thought Robot is above, Milkman is similarly meta, Prime One Million's a given since he's just Earth 0 Superman's future with a GL ring and permanently sun-dipped, and SBP at peak should be equal to Pre-Crisis. These guys take it for sure. The first two especially.
Edit: I’d also add Superman from Strange Visitor. He’s basically an even more explicit composite than Earth 0 Superman right now (literally lived from 1938 to present, to the future in one timeline), and his possible future is even beyond Prime One Million.

The anime characters you are looking for that can take on Superman are Haruhi, Elder God Demonbane (We Don't Talk About Elder God Demonbane, it's more-so a visual novel anyway), and literally any character from the Fate series. Definitely a lot others, but these are just some prominent examples.

He can sun dip to temporarily increase his power far beyond what he is naturally capable of. But that proves he is weaker.
Goku uses the spirit bomb when he isn't strong enough to beat his enemies, and Superman uses a strategic retreat to get roids (ie sun dips).

As for the laser, this has been done to death. Goku was suppressed, his guard was dropped because he won the fight. In addition, now that Goku is in UI even in base, he would have dodged/blocked and counterattacked because he can no longer be taken by surprise. So, even though the laser worked as a surprise attack once, it obviously wouldn't now, and has no place in a deathbattle (unless superman jumping Goku while asleep counts).
