What a lovely couple. It's so nice amongst the hordes of hucksters and hustlers on UA-cam to see such genuine humans. Enjoy Australia. Say hello to Sydney for me.
Well done Tia. I climbed to the top of that baby back in 1989. I was 28 at the time. As I got back to the bottom, a bus full of retired people were arriving. A few of the old guys looked up at the top wistfully and said, 'I wish I was 30 years younger.' Tia - you faced your fears, and now can enjoy the rest of your journey without regret.
Hi I'm a Aboriginal woman from Perth Western Australia and my people are the Noongah people of the South West region of WA and my peoples Country is from the south of Geraldton to Perth and as far south as Albany including the coastlines...so as a proud Noongah woman its beautiful that u have seen my peoples Country and the beautiful country we have down here, also u were very lucky to not hit a kangaroo as I've been to The Valley of the Giants and i climbed right to the top and the view is amazing...love my Country which is "Noongah Boodja" in Noongah it means Noongah Country ♥️🖤💛.... much love from Perth Western Australia and please when u do more videos around Australia find out more about Aboriginal culture as some of the things u may learn will completely shock u...♥️🖤💛
What an absolute star you are Tia......No way I could have done that and the support Cheveyo was giving you was tremendous. You should be so proud of facing your fears and doing that....
I gotta say it's a downright pleasure watching a couple of youngins touring our country and enjoying the vastness and variety of the Land of Aussie... Regarding Albany; here is a bit of history for you, if you haven't already discovered it: On November 1, 1914, 30,000 young Australians and New Zealanders departed from Albany in Western Australia on board a flotilla of ships bound for Egypt and the battlefields of the Great War. They had never heard of Gallipoli or the Somme and had no idea where they were headed and the fact that many would never return home.
I live in WA, I was born here. Watching you experience the things which I have done over a lifetime brings back so many great memories that I experienced with my parents and then with my own family. Western Australia is a massive state and you can literally spend years going up and down and across the length and breadth of it. The roads are great, the sights and experiences well worth the effort! Anyone who says WA doesn't have much to offer have obviously never visited it. I spent over 7 years on the eastern seaboard of Australia, living primarily in Queensland and Victoria, with trips to the other states. At the end of the day I returned to WA to raise my family, which kinda says it all for me. The other states have their own attractions and cultures but for me WA is always home.
I am terrified of heights and I can guarantee I'd have fallen through those massive gaps. The sweat on my palms and the shaking in my legs would've ensured that I did 🤣🤣🤣. You are a legend. Well done. 👏👏👏
You did so good Tia! I love that you faced that giant and refused to give your power to it (through fear) and doubled down to conquer it! Sooo powerful! Kudos to Cheveyo also for the gentle support and encouragement you gave! That’s priceless and helps to give power to Tia to face fears!
I'm gonna to celebrate both of you. Tia, what an amazing accomplishment. Way to go back and chase it. To your man and partner who has your back. Cheveyo, your support and how soft spoken you were. You had Tia all the way. The Boyfriend of the Year award is coming your way. I'm proud of both of you.
Well done Tia and Cheveyo was so lovely to see how supportive and respectful you were of Tia climbing the tree. You are both such a lovely couple and thoroughly enjoting your travels . We live in Perth our adopted home for the last 18 years.
This video was so hard to watch because I am terrified of heights. Watching the POV going up and even the camera shots of the ground, was enough to fill me with terror. Well done Tia and it thank you Cheveyo for being so kind and supportive of Tia
Great job Tia! When you were on the tree top walk and Cheveyo was commenting on the size of the trees off the side of the walkway. I expected him to say"Tia for scale!"😄
Get a couple of "zip ties" to hold your hub caps on... will save the stress of driving on some rougher roads without wondering if they'll be there when you stop. 💜🇦🇺 Also, awesome way to push yourself outside your comfort zone Tia, and the amazing support and love shown by Cheveyo as you climbed 💜🤩
Congrats Tia! Your triumph in overcoming your fear of heights is truly remarkable and inspiring. It takes immense courage and determination to face such fears head-on. A big shout-out to Cheveyo for being such a supportive partner throughout your journey. Having someone by your side, encouraging and understanding, can make all the difference. You both make an incredible team. 😊
I actually flinched and started shaking when you showed the view back down. I'm not even scared of heights. Not just well done Tia but WOW! You are the bravest!
WOW Tia!!! You did just do that, AWESOME!!! So amazing for you to share that kind of courage and strength to go back and climb again. Hits the heart and gives alot of courage and faith for many other!! Proud of you little lady!😊 catori REALLY liked this one too! She said, "good jobTia!!!" And you, Cheveyo, making me even more proud as a mother of how you supported her so kindly! Love as miss you both from catori and mom
Well done both of you. I don't have a fear of heights but I do have a phobia of dogs, so Tia climbing that tree would be like me feeding the dogs in a kennels while they were loose - not ever going to happen! To push yourself to go back again knowing how it made you feel and to reach the first platform was very impressive. And that was a good job of supporting her to do what she wanted to do without pushing her. The whole video just put a smile on my face...
Tia is an absolute LEGEND!! Congrats girl, I was rooting for you all the way. It’s no small feat to face your fears and push yourself to do something again you were too scared to do before. I think you are so much stronger than give yourself credit for and I hope climbing that tree helped prove that.
Well done, I climbed the Gloucester Tree in 2006. I spent a good 15 mins walking around at the bottom of the tree freaking out before I did it, but in the end I did manage to do it, very proud of myself, and proud of you too - it's bloody scary!
you know the best and most amazing part? You didnt conquer the climb but you conquered yourself and your fear of heights and as someone who us petrified of heights I can tell anyone that it’s a huge huge deal. A few months ago I was on Nusa Penida island in Bali and went down Diamond beach, it was the scariest thing for me but i made it down and by making it back up, I felt like anything was possible so Well Done TIA, you are a champ, I know exactly how u felt doing the Gloucester Tree climb in Pemberton. I am a West Australian living in Perth and Ive never done that tree climb. I thini youre awesome 👍❤️
I think you were incredibly strong overcoming your fear to climb that tree. Totally braver than I am. I wouldn’t have even made the first attempt. I have occasionally climbed big towers for work, when I was younger and fitter but they were towers with proper cages around them for safety and I can still remember losing the synchronisation of hands and feet trying to make sure I had three of four attached at any time. Once again an incredible feat.
OMG! Well done Tia! I tried it years ago in my 20s and probably went about 8 rungs up. That is an amazing achievement. The south of WA is so beautiful. I love Walpole and Denmark and Albany. Make sure you stop at the war memorial at Albany.
Oh my god that tree. I wouldn’t have been able to go even half as far as you guys climbed the first time, just watching through the screen made my heart skip a few times. Yay Tia!
Insane that I just come across your page and you are in my hometown of Albany! there is endless things to see and do down this way, the gap/blowholes, windfarm, middleton beach, emu point, old whaling station, gull rock beach, war memorial and the national Anzac centre is a must see for some of our history. Looking forward to the next ep!
I knew the minute Tia sighed on her first attempt that she would def not let herself give up! I dont have a fear of heights but I have a sever fear of falling, so I I have no issues going up and then cry & shake all the way down lol You Are A Freaking SuperWoman Tia, Im sooooooo amazed at how you dig deep into your inner strength to overcome the challenges you face and Cheveyo’s loving support 😭😭 - you guys have such a very special relationship 🥰
Well done Tia! Fear of heights is no joke and you just nailed it. I’ve done that climb as well and you feel quite exposed and there is no harness or anything. Wanted to give you a hug 🤗. You guys are awesome- well done.
Well done Tia. And Cheveyo is the perfect guy. The encouragement and support is what we all need from time to time. Both of you will go a long way. GBU
The second highest trees in the world after the Redwoods (and the highest flowering trees) can be found in the states of Victoria in mainland Australia and Tasmania, the island state. They grow in temperate rainforest in mainly eastern Victoria at a higher altitude of 150 to 1,100 metres, and grow to approximately 100 or more metres in height. The trees are known as Mountain Ash/Swamp Gum/Stringy Gum (Eucalyptus regnans).
Some trivia for you; Australia has the tallest hardwood trees in the world (the sequoia and redwood are softwood trees) however the bigger ones are found in the south-east and Tasmania. The tree you attempted to climb is called Bicentennial Tree and it is supposedly the tallest climbable tree in the world. Just nearby to that is a gorgeous gravel bush track that was worth taking a drive around, called Heartbreak Trail, which has picturesque resting points around the Warren River, which you probably would have had all to yourselves. It really is worth taking it slow and getting off the beaten track to explore these gorgeous spots; Barrabup Pool around Nannup, Glenoran Pool, Donnelly River and Bridgetown also would had been worth a look....but perhaps you don't have the luxury of time. The towns of Denmark and Walpole have some actually stunning beaches around them such as around Conspicuous Cliffs and Peaceful Bay....just sayin'.
I would have thought that there would be a safety harness and a rope set up. So simple. Just 2 slings with heavy duty carabiners. Just clip and unclip in frogleaping action on the spikes. Well done for overcoming your fear. That's a great achievement. You two make an awesome couple😊 really entertaining to watch and just such a chilled out channel to watch
Tia, that was amazing! I also have a fear of heights and my whole body responded as if I was climbing that tree myself. I know exactly how you were feeling and I'm in awe that you actually went back for a second go. Incredible.
Nothing like being on that tree climb,,,,I did it at age 36 all the way to the top in 1988. Freaky hanging on to those steps/bolts. I want to do it again. Glad you found Pemberton. 🙏👍🙏
Well done, Tia! I could not have done that climb with the view shown, the bars, no way. Tia, doing that climb when you're scared of heights was amazing. Cheveyo, you're so good and supportive, too. What a great episode. Conquering your fears is a big achievement.
Well done tia, a little fact those threes are actually the talest flowering trees so while not as big as a redwoods they are still GIANTS in there own right
Well done both of you for climbing the tree, I have also climbed it, in the 1970s as a teenager, back then I went all the way to the top which was then a bush fire lookout tower during the summer time as the top platform was above the tops of all the other trees around giving a 360 degree view
You guys are always such a great team. Most small towns in Australia will have a Lion's club or Rotary public park which will have free bbq to cook your own meals and amenities, some possibly have free camping too
Great job, guys. So scary! Years ago when my husband and I were newly dating, we climbed the Gloucester Tree in Pemberton. Very similar set up to the tree you climbed. Half-way up my heart was pounding but my man was powering on ahead of me. With great bravado I made it to the top, I was shaking like a leaf on one of those trees. The view was incredible and was proud of myself for pushing through. Was even scarier climbing back down! 🤣
Hey, well done with that tree, my wife(Mary) and I were there about 6 mths ago and chickened out. We completed an around Australia trip(except for Victoria, been there before) in our 20yr old 2 wheel drive sedan in 2 months. Used the tent as much as possible, went for paid accommodation when it was wet, windy or just sick of the tent, like your trip it was heaps of fun. I guess you get a lot of suggestions as to what to see, I'm going to add a couple. 1. Don't miss Esperance, nicest sea side town ever, do the coastal drive there. 2. Crossing the Nullabor: Unless you want to sleep in the tent book accommodation or you may have to camp rough. Keep your tank full, at least 1 service station sells diesel only. 3. Great Australian bight: 3 words, wild, remote and dramatic. There are a lot of places you can leave the highway and drive(carefully) right up to the bight, be extremely careful as many of the cliffs are under cut by wind and water, if you go over, there will be nobody to help you. 4. Coffin Bay: Not macabre at all. The town of Coffin Bay is surrounded by national parks hence a abundance of wildlife. We stayed at the caravan park and there were Emu's and Kangaroos all over the place. After leaving Coffin Bay it is a short trip to Port Lincoln then proceed north until you reconnect with the highway. Have a great trip and stay safe.
There’s cameras at the fuel station that can capture your registration plate if you drive off. Also, the fuel bowsers have to be activated by the cashier inside so they know which bowsers are in use
Well done! The top platform is a long way up that tree. I climbed it with my sister and father about 50 years ago. There was no half way platform then. On the way down we met 2 technicians going up with backpacks full of equipment - we had to pass each other. That was scary!
That was AMAZING! I would certainly have arrived and been 'yep, seen that, now let's move on!'. No way I would have even thought about doing that. Congrats on pushing back on a fear.
Holly Molly Tia! Well done! We looked at that on our trip there before and say nope straight away. And I don't have fear of heights! Well bloody done mate! 👍👍
I climbed to the top of that tree in 1979. In those days every 2nd peg was a wooden stake. I reckon Tia would have kept climbing up with encouragement.........perhaps she wasn't the only scared one.
Hope you guys are loving your time in Western Australia I myself am a 6 generation pioneer of Pemberton my family where settlers in Pemberton our family farm is still there today
Welcome to our part of the world! I live in Albany but do a lot of trout fishing in Pemberton, and always camp at the base of a Tingle tree...I feel so safe and protected by them, it's almost spiritual... and I always get a great night's sleep! Enjoy Albany, I hope the weather is nice for you, it can be extremely fickle down here!
I just watched you climb to the 1st platform up the tree and you were so brave to do that Tia. Its daunting especially rock climbing and you did very good Tia. WELL DONE TIA.🎉
You’re such fantastic, supportive partners. It’s so sweet to see. Tia, I’m not sure I could get to that first platform! My palms were sweaty just watching the video of it. Well done!
Aww I was getting so emotional watching you both. This climb looked terrifying and I could feel your pain but the strength to go back up was immense! Also the love and support from Cheveyo was really beautiful to watch, you are such a lovely couple!
It was so beautiful seeing how you worked together to help Tia conquer her fears, i am sitting here typing this through tears of happiness, you two are so great together, i feel proud of you both, and a bit protective too, please stay safe always :)
That tree climbing experience looked amazing…I am with you Tia I would be shaking all over but determined to do the half way. You are amazing girl well done. I love how understand and supportive you are as a lot of partners would be like you go back down I will go up the rest of the way without you.
I guess Tia's street cred goes up one more notch!!! I used to be more scared of heights than I am now because I also challenged myself to do things that freak me out. Way to go. It was the solo skydiving a couple times that really pushed me way out of my comfort zone and thus gave me much more confidence in myself. A couple positive partner support points for Cheveyo as well!! Happy Travels
absolutely terrified of heights here and i honestly can say i don't think i could have even attempted that, kudos to you for even being able to go through with it as far as you did
Brilliant work, Tia. My legs were trembling for you. Such wonderful encouragement, you are a lovely young man. I only found your videos yesterday and I love them. Thank you for being such an inspiring happy couple showing off our beautiful country 🇦🇺🌞
Yep I went there with the purpose of climbing it & I just couldn't. So you're got bigger kahunas than I have Tia! Well done. Love the support shown as well, actually made me teary!
You mentioned Redwoods and Sequoias, within a days walk from where you are in the tree tops walk is a selection of donated trees from around the world, including redwoods and sequoias
I would avoid nsw at the moment as a big heatwave is currently hitting so you will get burnt and scorched it is not a dry heat it is humid as well worse than Bali heat at the moment
Phew Tia! Brave woman pushing passed the fear. I'm not scared of heights but I do not like them either. Go you for climbing up on that 'not my cup of tea' ladder thingy and that high!
Well done Tia! I wouldn’t have been able to have gone up that tree! 😮 I have done the Valley of the giants walk, that was lovely 😊 Welcome to Australia!
If you come to New Zealand you HAVE to do the redwoods tree walk at night its awesome 👌 it's in a place called Rotorua. All these large lanterns in the trees high up all lit up 🤩
What a lovely couple. It's so nice amongst the hordes of hucksters and hustlers on UA-cam to see such genuine humans. Enjoy Australia. Say hello to Sydney for me.
I couldn't agree more! It's so wonderful when you find some of the good humans on here ^_^
Well done Tia.
I was retired and over 60 when I climbed it!
Looks sketchy as hell, I wouldn't climb it.

Thank you so much for saying that 😊
And the nomination for best supporting actor goes to...Cheveyo!

the way how you two care for each other - a lesson to us all - "You can do this" - never underestimate what you two share - true love.
Well done . Went with my cousin who is fearless ., me , stopped dead still in middle shakin and ran to the end
Well done Tia! And also well done Cheveyo for being so supportive!
That tree top walk is where I discovered that I have a problem with heights. It was the swaying! You have done amazing Tiea. You are so brave.
Well done Tia and Cheveyo was so lovely to see how supportive and respectful you were of Tia climbing the tree. You are both such a lovely couple and thoroughly enjoting your travels . We live in Perth our adopted home for the last 18 years.

TIA!!! You may have to do "JAIL TIME" LOL And on that tree you went way farther than I would have gone. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Well done Tia, I am very impressed with your encouragement and support .
You are awesome Tia, you persevered and overcame your initial fears. Thanks Chev for being such an amazing calming support to Tia. Well done you two!
Tia, that was amazing! I also have a fear of heights and my whole body responded as if I was climbing that tree myself. I know exactly how you were feeling and I'm in awe that you actually went back for a second go. Incredible.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but it’s spring in the Pacific Northwest USA. I am not going to get tired of seeing sunny, warm beaches.
Well done Tia! When you have such a palpable fear, to do what you did was awesome. xx
There’s cameras at the fuel station that can capture your registration plate if you drive off. Also, the fuel bowsers have to be activated by the cashier inside so they know which bowsers are in use
Whoo hooo! WELL DONE Tia 🎉💪🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I've been binging your videos in a weird order and this was the first one I got a bit teary watching. Well done Tia!
Well done! The top platform is a long way up that tree. I climbed it with my sister and father about 50 years ago. There was no half way platform then. On the way down we met 2 technicians going up with backpacks full of equipment - we had to pass each other. That was scary!
Well done Tia. The older I get the more scared of heights I have become, no idea why, it started after I had my kids.
I’ve been skydiving and rock climbing. That wasn’t a good time to push her to do anything more.
@@OnePackWanderers In that case good on you for looking out for her.
well done Tia on the tree! further than I would have got, going back down backwards is where I would have definitely frozen.
Hope you guys are loving your time in Western Australia I myself am a 6 generation pioneer of Pemberton my family where settlers in Pemberton our family farm is still there today
Oh my gosh Tia! I’m not scared of heights and that looked scary!!!
Well done!
And major props to Chevayo for being so supportive and encouraging
Welcome to our part of the world! I live in Albany but do a lot of trout fishing in Pemberton, and always camp at the base of a Tingle tree...I feel so safe and protected by them, it's almost spiritual... and I always get a great night's sleep! Enjoy Albany, I hope the weather is nice for you, it can be extremely fickle down here!
I just watched you climb to the 1st platform up the tree and you were so brave to do that Tia. Its daunting especially rock climbing and you did very good Tia. WELL DONE TIA.🎉
That's the true definition of courage overcoming real fear well done Tia
Great job Tia!! So good to see you not give up and go again! Also, very supportive of you Cheveyo!
Well done Tia. You're a legend
It was so beautiful seeing how you worked together to help Tia conquer her fears, i am sitting here typing this through tears of happiness, you two are so great together, i feel proud of you both, and a bit protective too, please stay safe always :)
My palms got super sweaty watching Tia climb that tree!
Yay! OPW is the crown of my weekend. Love your adventures across Australia and can’t wait to see all of it!
Spent the day watching your videos, you guys are awesome. Also really impressed Tia went back up the tree a second time. ❤
That tree climbing experience looked amazing…I am with you Tia I would be shaking all over but determined to do the half way. You are amazing girl well done. I love how understand and supportive you are as a lot of partners would be like you go back down I will go up the rest of the way without you.
@11:00 well done, Tia 💪🏆 ☺
Well done Tia! A great achievement in conquering your fears and what a reward with that view!!
absolutely terrified of heights here and i honestly can say i don't think i could have even attempted that, kudos to you for even being able to go through with it as far as you did
Brilliant work, Tia.
Well done Tia!
Hope you are both getting plenty of support, so you can travel this amazing country and not miss anything due to cost.
You did a fantastic job Tia, I wouldn't even dare to go up the first platform!!!
I would avoid nsw at the moment as a big heatwave is currently hitting so you will get burnt and scorched it is not a dry heat it is humid as well worse than Bali heat at the moment
Tia I'm not afraid of heights but only made half way to first platform. I didn't trust the stairs. Super well done.
Well done Tia! That is a scary climb … for anyone, let alone someone with a fear of heights. Congratulations 🦵🏽💪🏽👍🏽
YES!...Tia! Veni,vidi,vici! like a champ!
I think that should be 'Like a Chimp'...........
If you come to New Zealand you HAVE to do the redwoods tree walk at night its awesome 👌 it's in a place called Rotorua. All these large lanterns in the trees high up all lit up 🤩
Well done, Tia! Way to go in conquering your fears! 🎉. And excellent job, Cheveyo, for being so encouraging and supportive. 👍. You make a great team!
