Thanks for the visit and great video! It was fun to share our story and behind the scenes work with you.
Thanks for having us!
THANK YOU for this look into Unplugged Performance & UPFIT .
it was also nice seeing you in X takeover video .
It's great seeing the South Pasadena Model Ys, as I drive my Model Y to Trader Joes. Really smart move. I remember when the California Highway Patrol bought some really fast Dodge Chargers. Seeing the South Pas Model Ys, made me realize, my Model Y could probably keep up with, or out run those Dodge Chargers. (No intention of trying.)
Awesome work.. awesome products.
If they offered those wheels in a size for go carts that would be absolutely baller!
I’m showing this to my local PD. The money they’ll save on maintenance = more police talent and hiring. Thanks UP and Monroe!
Don't your not saving $ higher insurance rates and tire cost your not saving shit
What a terrific video and HUGELY impressive company. I love the fact that this company is going to the mat to ensure our officers are safe and protected in their work. Good work guys.
Whos protecting your wallet from the higher taxes in your city by buying electric vehicles to convert when ice engined cars offer the same protection for less
Retired LEO looking at the upfit and how the police equipment is installed. Very impressive. We had great upfitters and equipment but this is next level and super nicely done. Very well thought out not just bolted in trying to get everything to fit. Nice touch with the rear hatch light, moving the antennas inside the vehicle (aero, wind noise and weather protection ) The moving spot lights are awesome. I manually moved the drivers spotlight on hot runs as they are most noticed by drivers over flashing lightbars and having a hand free option and on both sides is really nice. When I started in the mid 90s before LED lightbars our cars would drop idle and bog down in park when switching on the lightbar. Things were better after LEDs came in but being able to run everything for a week is insane.
Thanks. This feedback means a lot to us and our hardworking team!
💙
Completly blown away by UPfit on Civilian, Police & Military specs /upgrades !! Congrats on Munro Team Leader for Presentation & Work !! 👍💪👏
🙋♂️THANKS SANDY , BEN AND THE MUNRO TEAM FOR THE TOUR 😎💚💚💚😊
I love the nomad at the end❤️😎
This is the coolest Munro Video of all time.
"Part of it's your fault Sandy!" ... that's got to make it into a promo sometime! 😁 I've been looking for more feedback on how Law Enforcement is viewing & handling the transition to EV's and this coverage of @UnpluggedPerformanceTesla interactions & solutions for this industry has been very meaningful. Great job Sandy & the Munro Live team for bringing us this content!
There's just so much down to earth honest to goodness respectful attitude to all of Munro's work. A complete joy to watch.😂
36:56 - great snippet of information. This is a common concern among law enforcement and it is great to have an answer.
Awesome Police cars. Especially glad to see doors get reinforced so cops actually have some useful cover.
Great tour and information. One of the big things that people often forget about police vehicles is just how much time an ICE is stuck idling while on patrol and the huge benefits of an EV.
Beeeen! I love it.
This interview and tour is looong overdue.
I actually love how the cybertruck mods look.
@@ryansmithc but does the city it belongs to deserve to pay more in taxes for an over priced play toy with no real practicality and then pay to pimp it out just so the city can brag to the citizens why things aren't getting paid for and the debt continues to grow
@@Shawn-c2ilol city blows a few 100k on trucks vs politicians blowing a few trillion on wars. If you're concern is spending, that should start at the top. Just seen a video where the air force spends 600k on a single helmet. Misplaced outrage.
This would be a good video for other Police dept. to get an idea of how to do it.
I was at the Tesla takeover in San Luis Obispo and all the unplugged police and cybertruck’s were on display. It was awesome to see it up close. I will definitely be putting the bumpers and running boards on my truck. The pit maneuver bumpers on the Cars is awesome. great deep dive Munroe!
Yo Dawg, We heard you like light bars. So we put a light bar with your light bar, on your light bar!
@@os10v311 🤣👍
oooh good old days !
MUNRO live - THANK YOU for this Dive into Unplugged Performance & UPFIT.
They do make great products! My MYP suspension is all unplugged, but I went the lifted route (and yes it does amazingly well on the beach).
Great to hear!
Does this void warranty?
@@jamarforsythe7262 I talked with a Tesla tech that came to do my trailer hitch (just wanted for possible future software upgrades). He said that he THINKS it only invalidates the suspension portion. Battery and motors shouldn't change.
Police and military programs expanding is so sick, you guys can really do it all
wow, this is such an interesting video, never thought i'd watch it to the end. Great job to everyone involved to making this video happen.
Sandy great video! And that custom car company and thier team is phenomenal as a retired LawDog from da biggest city in da midwest I can really appreciate what those guys are doing! Awesome!
Wow what a great tour! UP is a market mover and showing what is possible for the EV aftermarket. There needs to be a company that can step up to be Holley for EVs… UP is it.
I was waiting for you to visit Unplugged Performance.
Thank you!
Go Sandy, good to see Tesla on display as #1 , let other oem's see and learn.
Love this tour. Awesome to see. Thanks UP and Munro.
Our pleasure!
Fantastic content.
Sandy, thanks for hosting this, and excellent to see a small business start to churn into scalable level output.
Yup, Unplugged Performance doing exciting things.
18 inch police wheels 🤩🤩 for the win for reality
They partnered with SpaceX for their wiring harnesses?! That's kickass
Sure it wasn't ULA? Or Boeing?
@@ah244895 unplugged is smarter than that lol, they already work directly with Tesla, which works with SpaceX so it's pretty obvious
for pedestrian safety reasons we removed the plastic bumpers and made everything steel

@@YTesting F' Yeah.
Thanks, Sandy and team! I want to see more of those custom interiors.
36:55 extremely impressive !
I've thought for years why police cars should not only have bullet proof doors but there should be a panel that drops down to protect their feet when the door is open.
This was fantastic! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic vid. I've been quite interested in the implementation of these police units.
These are sick! I want to see more of these of the roads!
This was a lot more interesting than I was expecting. Particularly the police upfitting. Thanks for the video.
Nothing says eco-friendly interior like replacing the already manufactured interior in a car with an eco-friendly one. 😂
All of this green washing is a bunch of nonsense anyway lol
Ben is a legend and this video is incredible
Throughout, I was wishing my dad had seen this. In Louisiana he was a Sheriff's Deputy and his jeep had one mod. A center console mounted Tommy Gun. Simple, yet undeniably effective; when it didn't jam. (talk to senior FBI agents, for more on that)
Amazing work UP!! Have you guys considered developing an overlanding camper shell for cybertruck with integrated rooftop tent?
Lots of short clips about all of these specific law enforcement vehicle upfits would be very helpful. If they covered all of the standard concerns about range, how long all the electronics can stay on for and with what % battery drain, charging infrastructure, utility, maintenance, etcetera. That way i can send the clips to my local departments so they can learn that these cars might be an improvement from the status quo.
most PD are migrating to Digital Radios .
thankfully the iDAS system can use both Legacy Analog Trunking & Digital NXDN Trunking in ONE radio system.
allowing them to GROW at their own pace & budget.
they can add DIGITAL mobile & handhelds as required .
NEW Electric patrol cars will probable get NXDN first.
those cybertrucks looks awesome
Unplugged performance - you should tell the PD buying Tesla Vehicles , to secure them better by using a #PIN code to prevent the Tesla from being STOLEN . and have PD department change #PIN numbers frequently.
& make sure ALL officers have up to date #PIN codes.
Very interesting. Good job.
Thank you!
This tour was very informative and I will use them to upgrade my own Tesla
Thanks for video!.... AMAZING PLACE!
Welcome!
loved this show! very informative and the passion for their work is wonderful!
Fabulous Thanks! Really enjoyed that!
great video all around. really appreciate the tour of the police vehicles and the cybertruck accessories. :)
Coach Building is coming back baby !!!
Awesome episode, very interesting! Keep up the great content.😊
Looking forward to accessorizing my M3LR with some UP suspension here in Australia. They do amazing work. That first Cybertruck would play well here off road here as well. Heres hoping it comes to our shores.
Fantastic company! Totally impressed. Hope to have the money one day so I can UpFit my Cybertrucks! SoCalFreddy
HELL YEAH!!! I love thissss
It's the perfect police truck
So many customized tesla in one spot 😮
Amazing attention to detail very impressive.
Once 48 V architecture is deployed into model Y and model three that will create even more efficiencies.
Integrated Starlink makes a lot of sense too. Wi-Fi hotspot. CCTV.
FSD driverless Patrolling could be a force multiplier
And then Sandy ends with a Corvette Nomad wagon. I think there are only about 3 of them around.
Come on police fleet buyers,
Get on board baby, the future is here.
Save millions in maintenance.
If I ever get a Cybertruck, I am going hard in unplugged gear
Robocop approves that cybertruck!
Super interesting video. Many Police Departments can follow this example and save community money that can be spent elsewhere. Maybe I've missed this: what is the version of Model Y that are used? I saw Dual Motor on the back, so it's Long Range AWD? Why not Long Range RWD for maximum range? And also, I'd be interested to hear about the charging regime.
For those mini wheels they should partner up with surronster and his gokarts haha
😁Thanks, Sandy - 🤗Ian Cleland
Wow, aftermarket baby!!! I can’t even imagine how fast these cars will be! All the electronics inside the cabin. just use your imagination.😮
The best way to avoid curb damage is to avoid hitting curbs. If you're relying on a small offset of pliable air filled rubber to protect you from curb rash, you're doing it wrong.
COPS regularly drive over curbs & Medians.
lol, have you ever watched police chase videos?
@@aussie2uGA Yes, and that small offset won't save the rim from curb rash. The other logic of the different tires for police use is sound, but the nonsense people repeat about all Teslas having rim damage due to the aerodynamic design of the factory setup is b.s.
Shit happens when you're driving a car in 12-hour shifts. Mr Perfect.
@@ButterfatFarms You don't understand what I'm getting at, Mr. Reactionary.
Great video
Thanks!
Aftermarket baby! I can’t even believe how fast these cars will be! The interiors with all the electronics, it will be……😳
When the car guys wakes up to this. They’ll never want to smell gasoline again.
Oh crap, my reflex has been that when I see a Dodge in my rear view mirror, I slow down, now I have to watch out for Model Y! They’re everywhere on the road, I’m screwed.
Great video Sandy thanks
Good stuff, I love it!
Glad you enjoy it!
Really cool to see this! Wish I could afford upgrades 😂
f*** respect for people with these skills. 🙌
Thanks for sharing. Really love the video and also what the future looks like for our police force, as always, Sandy, keep the good work I've learned a lot through your streams.
Thank you! Will do!
Always interesting, thanks fellas ❤
Amazing work 👌👍👏👏
Beautiful NSX…Impressive group…
Could we get a video debunking cybertruck frame snapping in half is possible. A certain UA-camr is saying that .
Are there any other "up fitters" in the Tesla space?
Not certain what they might be beyond aesthetics but who else exists out there that's doing rad shit with a new platform?
They should do a Console delete Bench seat for the Cyber truck so it seats 6 like the original prototype I would love to get one like that. A front bench for the Model X for and 8 Passenger set up would be good too.
So excited to see this
Heck for 4 tires and insurance cost compare ,a old truck on site ,even if missing replacement cost you still have savings if you compare ,dents and up keep
Thank you Sandy - I hope FORD is watching!
Cool stuff!
UP team, one point to think about regarding retaining the glass roof on police vehicles…. While it may be true that Tesla did a lot of work from a structural standpoint, I’d argue that the glass roof is too fragile for what you’d want in a police vehicle. Why do I say that? (True story) I had a MY’21 Model 3 Performance that I parked under a Pecan Tree in Austin, TX in the fall. I wasn’t paying attention to the fact that the tree was dropping pecans and parked under it. Long story short, falling pecans caused a lot of PDR to the panels, and cracked the windshield, roof and back glass. That’s a pretty high replacement cost for a city vehicle vs making it more durable from the start.
2 cents…
This is an American car! If it matters to you. It does to me.
The only American car. Except for specific Hondas.
You guys appear uniquely-qualified to design video replacement of side/rear view mirrors - much better visibility, improved CD, and optimal positions of video for the driver (de novo, unbound by the (now obsolete) placement of rear/side mirrors governed by need for reflected views thru car windows.
Regulatory acceptance of revised placement of “mirror” video screens will come more quickly when advocated by law enforcement as a narrow exception to existing regs, eg, the camel’s head under the tent. 😮
Nice clean job on the upfit. As a driver who will GTFOOTW whenever I see emergency lights behind me, I'd like to suggest that the lighting packages are too subtle, and prone not to be seen in traffic and sun glare. Aero is nice--but they need more conspicuity.
Excelent. I could keep on repeating that over and over but it would be "fair" to say excellent 20 times and not be saying it too much for ALL involved in that video.
Awesome video and information. Thank you!!!
Very interesting video. Doing a great job. Thanks for not showing any "thin blue line" gang symbols.
Great company and awesome results! 👏👏👏👏 I was wondering if the steel bumpers would make the car less safe for the Police Officer? Crush zones, etc?
Nice video
Amazing job on all fronts, and from everyone working at Unplugged. I really want to see how long PD are keeping these Tesla on the road. I also want to see what they look like (and what gets taken off), when they get sold off at the end of their service life. Will the door armor stay on? Can someone send this video to Fox News? They found a different PD in Cali that says they can't use them for patrol.
No, that is NOT a "station wagon"(I used to have one). That is a "Nomad". Very rare indeed.
would be nice if that light bar followed the curve of the roof
I think these police cars need a "customer" scene with video that plays an introduction video to what's comes next re processing for them. 🤣 Nice 'Office' for the officers. They live in these things and good they have a better work space.
how about Autopilot with PIT/TVI auto mode!
Little mag make for tag or shifter carts.
If they offered those wheels in a size for go carts that would be absolutely baller!
It would reduce the gearing ratio too for incredible acceleration with a reduced top speed
