Another play through of
Tchaikovsky Rococo Variation
Dvorak Concerto
My camera(Nikon z6) can record only up to 30 minutes, so I reset the camera in the middle of first movement of Dvorak concerto but this has been played in one go.
One learns to play most efficiently when playing the massive program or should I say subconsciously find a way to play cello efficiently, so that literally one wouldn’t need to stop playing. So I think this new program is not a bad idea.
Thinking about distributing concentration and energy for both two concertos I was feeling very anxious at the beginning and not giving everything to each note and each phrase, out of insecurity and reservedness. It feels like diving into the deep ocean and you never know how it goes.
I worked on the Dvorak during the summer and now took it up again, so this time mainly worked on the Dvorak so very little improvement on Tschaikovksy since last time.
The mistakes and roughness can be solved, and I think it wouldn’t take too much time, if I know exactly how I want to play, and sort out exactly how and when I want to change the bow, how much vibrato, what kind of sound, intonations, etc and work on those part separately one by one. So I hope in about 2 weeks times I would play in much higher standard the same program.
It is hardly possible to practice all the parts a day before the performance because it is massive, so somehow one need to be able to handle all this on the spot and I think that’s the real standard…
Anyway now I’ve done it for the first time and recognised how it was, so I must seriously start doing some problem solving, the mistakes in Tschaikovsk is not difficult to solve, and in Dvorak also but still haven’t done it.
