I no longer use Harbor Freight Super Heavy Duty Degreaser in my ultrasonic cleaner. Harbor Freight changed the recipe. The bottle previously stated "NON-CORROSIVE". Now it says "CORROSIVE", "do not user on Aluminum". It now damages most carburetors. Recently I have been using Simple Green PRO HD with good results.

Yes, but be joyful that they have the physical and mental health to take on the challenges of life. Your example can't be over estimated. Sorry for the serious attitude. 40 years of trauma work has warped my mind. 😢 Also, though my only child is 49 now, because of mental health issues (All my family has mental health issue) he hasn't been outside in over 35 years now. Wishing you & your family the very best 😎❤️👍

Paul Anka - Times Of Your Life 1. That moment when you realize you have to take your sister for a ride. 2. When you realize that you have a lead foot and dad proclaims, "That's a little fast". 3. When you think things were going so well, you now must give up the drivers seat to your little sister and you pray that the cart will come back in the same condition so you can enjoy driving it again. (She was a very good driver from what I saw).
This was wonderful James. They grow up faster than we often realize or accept. Thanks for sharing this precious moment.

I got an ATV when I was about 13 and I really loved that thing. This was back in the 80s. I started driving and eventually never got on it again, my dad sold it. I wish I still had it. I don't really live in a place where I could drive it, but if I did, I probably would get another. If you are able to find one, I know the kiddos are gonna love it.

I would love to do something like this for my girls. Your videos are extremely helpful. Hi James and good morning. I have been enjoying your videos, and just wanted to make a small suggestion. I noticed you use WD40 and PB Blaster regularly. I do as well, but I also use Yamaha Ring Free. Whenever I come across an older engine that hasn't been run in a while, whether 2 or 4 stroke, I pull the plug and add 2 or 3 table spoons to the cylinder, then rotate it around, if possible, to coat the cylinder and rings, then let it set for a while. I have brought back engines from almost no compression, to well running. It truly does what it says. It was recommended to me years ago from a Yamaha dealer mechanic. It's a little pricey, but works very well. Just something to add to your tool inventory. I also picked up a few diagnostic items and tools after watching you. I can always learn new things. Well, that's it. Hope my suggestion helps sometime. Take care and keep the video's coming. Jeff T.

A couple mechanical recommendations from me. First get an automotive double return spring for the throttle linkage. Spring breaks and you usually get full throttle. Second that large chain pulley will eventually hit the ground if you drive it off pavement. I suggest a stout guard even if it causes more high-center hangups. You know changing that big pulley would be a chore.

Making memories those kids will have for a lifetime James! If yours are like mine were, they will LOVE the ATV's. We had hot rods, and motorcycles, and all sorts of fun things when they were little, but when I got them their own ATV's ?? That was a home run. By far their favorites from their childhoods. And, at 31 and 27 now ?? They STILL love riding them. Luckily we have some acreage here in Elkmont Alabama, so we have a place to take them for trails through the woods. This is a very heart warming video. All the best to you guys!

You could drill and install some Zerk fittings on those front spindles and pump them full of grease to help lube the front wheel bearings. Just like they do the blade spindles on riding mowers. This may keep the front bearings from drying out. Great project, your kid will love it.

If only I had this when I was a youngen. Mine was made with 2.4's, wagon wheels and some steel rod for axels. the steering was a pole wrapped with close line. The steering wheel came from a peddle toy if I remember correctly. I had to laugh when I saw your finger with a band aide cause that always came with building our carts. Gravity was used for an engine down a long hill paved if you could find it. If I can find a old picture I'll try to send it to you. Can't thank you enough for doing these movies.

TIP: The next time you need to cut stranded cable, get your soldering iron out and tin a small area where you intend to make the cut. Brush off the excess solder while it's hot if the hole for the cable is a tight fit. Keep in mind all of the area you get solder on will no longer be flexible after you tin it.

For multiple reasons this series of 3 makes for 1 of my favorite videos so far. The ending alone speaks for itself-well with one exception; at one point it was hard to tell who was having the most fun. I couldn't tell if it was the kids or-James the mechanic, the dad, or James the kid, since all 3 were laughing and having a great time. 😂 It would be great to see you teach/train/involve your kids in future videos. That's a lot a valuable knowledge to pass down [if there's interest]. Great series James.

You are so deliberate and thorough. It’s a real pleasure to watch you work. I’m jonesing to do something like a mower conversion, but the no suspension thing is a dealbreaker for me.

Looks fun, James. Teach them to place their thumbs out of the wheel. I learned the hard way and snapped both mine when I hit a rock as kid

You have to admit James that this was a whole lot more rewarding than fixing generators .lol. Looks like the lawn needs a little love as well. You need to supercharge that motor to compensate for your weight .

It’s been dry here in the northeast. I irrigate and I still have sunburned spots, too.
