@shelleymiddlebrook1265 This really was beautiful. I’m not a religious man but this was definitely special. I kind of feel the same way, though not as intense, as when I watched a video some years back of a NZ couple at their wedding and the groomsmen all started a Haka to honour them. I don’t think I have ever been so moved by something as I was by that moment. I’m not ashamed to say that it moved me to tears. I didn’t understand the language and I’ve sadly never been to NZ (yet!) but it was so pure and so powerful that I completely felt the incredibly strong energy and understood the message. It was just amazing to me that something that upon first glance and being a total outsider can look so intimidating and threatening but yet convey such love and support and emotion. (I’ve watched many more Haka videos since then and know that Haka is many more things then just a challenge) As you can tell, it really struck something in me. I hope to one day visit NZ and perhaps witness it in person. Much love and respect to you, the Maori and all First Nations and Indigenous peoples around the world from 🇨🇦
I am not from a tribe of any kind I was raised in a cult, our music was very dull more of a dirge than anything else. I managed to get away from that and did some travelling. I happened to help a neighbour out at Waitangi Day celebrations. (She made huge batches of curried chicken and mussels with rice &would need help on the day). At one point in the afternoon they did musical and dance performances. I had seen a Haka so thought I knew what to expect, how naive I was. As soon as they started to sing I had this visceral reaction, I don't even know where it came from but, I sobbed big, ugly, tears for the whole performance. It was so very beautiful to me. My neighbour thought I was nuts. I'm sure you won't care, but I just wanted to say I had this similar experience with Music from your home. ❤️🖖🏼

My family came to South Africa in July 2023 and we stayed at the Nkambeni safari camp in Mpumulanga for several days. This is a fair statement. There is an internal work that needs doing on the heels of struggle but we will overcome with these young people that are seeing freedom.

Truly beautiful! As an African American whose never been to Africa, I feel this is what the songs sound and felt like from our ancestors! And although we are thousands of miles apart, these powerful young people show their spirit is still alive! South Africans have natural rhythm. I am proudly South African and extremely proud to be called South African. Love everything about all the cultures, the rest will never understand the bond I have with remarkable country. Love you ❤❤❤❤
Music is a universal language and South Africans know how to connect with the rest of the world through their music and singing! What a lovely assembly! Bawo almost gives me goosebumps!
Can't stop listening to this song! My algorithm showed me this video and I hadnt known anything about south african music before. Greetings from Germany.
The passion of these children lifting their voices - how beautiful! Look how much fun they’re having. Wish I could be part of something like that. God bless you children of South Africa.
Each time I come back to this, I notice something more. This time, I was just listening on headphones and making a cup of tea, and noticed how the kids get more excited closer to the end, how it sounds at once disciplined and freely extemporized. So talented, so joyous!
So beautiful. I love how she pointed at Him up above in the end and they all followed suit. I imagine God turned around from whatever he was doing that morning just to hear them sing.
Wish I had an extended version so I can't just play on repeat. Lead singers voice is so powerful and strong, Beautiful song well done choir !!!! #Amazing
I listen to this song daily, even though I am do not understand the language. But so far, I know that. Bawo means Father! I think South. Africans have the best harmony.
I look at them, we are a part of them and they are a part of us (African Americans). So much love in their hearts just the way we use to know love among our friends and family here in USA. I get a message from this song. As they plead with the Father for protection and thank Him for protection, we need to do the same 100% here in America. Same blood line, same power all we have to do is raise our voices in the same child like faith and things will be better for us here in America. I am so inspired by that great union and fellowship that is with them. Love you South Africa. Love you Motherland❤❤❤.
I close my eyes and feel the spirits of my ancestors from Africa listening to this....and l live and was born in London. No one can break the spiritual connection we have. Awesome ❤
It’s the power of God. It touches hearts so deeply. In this song, they’re praising the Lord, asking for His guidance, and thanking Him for protecting them from the sorrows of this world.
Watching from Maryland in the US and I've always admired African culture so much. The patterns are colorful and bright and gorgeous, the songs and dances are all so full of life and bring such joy. Nothing makes me feel so much joy down to the core of my being as hearing Africans sing their songs. I so long for culture like this in my life. We are so disconnected from everything over here.
This song gave me the shivers. I don't understand these words in my conscious mind but i somehow know them in my soul and it humbles me. These are my people as I'm a Jamaican. Love AFRICA my motherland from whence they took my ancestors.
Am I the only one who got goose bumps from watching this? If only my girls school assemblies had been this uplifting. The harmony and rhythm is so beautiful and soothing and so precious. This definitely bought a tea tree to my eyes. (In a good way). ❤❤❤❤
My father grew up in south africa. He purchased grapes to bring to wine makers before south african wine became famous... what he remembers fondly is that, after purchasing the grapes, when leaving with his loaded vehicle, the people of the town would gather and sing as a thank you and farewell with these wonderful choral voices.
Brother when I tell you may YAHUAH bless you! I was just listening to hillsong- oceans (where feet may fail) and thought about this song. I couldn't find it in the text it was sent to me, but when I Google "African high school choir singing" this was the first one to pop up! When I tell you they give me chills, man. Smh. They sound so blessed! And the lead makes it just that much better! You can't tell me Africans don't sound like life itself when they sing. I legit would not be surprised if this is how YAHUAH'S actual choir sounds. Thank you for posting this, family.
My one wish is to set foot on the continent of Africa so that my spirits can connect with my people before I leave this earthly world. This voice pierced my soul
Listening to this & makes me sad we African Americans don't know our native tongue & we got separated from our history.I did an Ancestry Test & I'm mostly south African.I hope I get to go back & meet family I don't know. This is so beautiful 😢❤

@@darkangelsu2108not everyone in Africa is Christian these are my people. They don't belong to Africa but to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Music Is Life, It Grows, It is Emotive....I am by GOD'S amazing Grace, just turned 90. I am still in unbelief, but continuing to worship GOD and praising Him with Songs of Praise for the residue of my days. I am from. West Africa...
Thanks
This mass choir of South African School Children singing Bawo, has elevated me.

Nothing more beautiful than the sound of African voices. Greetings from England 🙋🏻♂
Im Nigerian, and this is how i've chosen to remember South Africa. 💙
❤ HALLELUYAH!!!! LEAVE THE WESTERN TEACHINGS IN AMERICA!!!! KEEP YOUR HOMELAND VERY CLOSE TO YOUR HEART!!!! TEACH ME FAMILY!!! I WANNA GO HOME, JERUSALEM WHERE TMH YAH RESIDES!! ❤❤❤❤ ALL GLORY FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY!!!
This is a fair statement. There is an internal work that needs doing on the heels of struggle but we will overcome with these young people that are seeing freedom.
🇿🇦🖤🇳🇬
I'm choking back tears of astonishment that such a large group in school children can sing in a perfect key, unison, and above all else with feeling.
🥲⚔️🙏🏽⚔️
The base from the back gave me goose bumps 😊
And harmony
There is nothing better. No music. Just a natural born talent.
We are such a beautiful people, from North, West, East and South. Thanks BAWO for us!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm glad you can see the beauty GOD gave in your people!
Bless you God for this words 🙏
❤
They have beautiful voices! It's good to see a school sing together.👍🙏🙌☝️👏
That lead girl was owning it😊
It used to be done in the US but no more
These children have such modest looks on their faces, completely unaware of how heavenly and beautiful they sound.
No need for an amplifier. Those riffs and runs❤ so beautiful
As a white, English pensioner, can I say how wonderful this is? Just so amazing, breath taking.
Who is SO tired of this kind of comments?🤚
Of course you can ❤
@@gigiatlas2364 you, obviously. Don’t you have a life to live instead of criticising someone else’s heart felt comment? Do better!
@@Lynnefromlynbecause you don't have to mention your race at all. just enjoy the damn song 🤦♂
@@quickstep2408 I mention it because I wanted them to know their singing transcends race, age, and colour. That’s an important point. I’m sorry if it offended or triggered you for some reason. You are certainly the one to make an issue of it and lower the tone. Do better please.
Truly beautiful! As an African American whose never been to Africa, I feel this is what the songs sound and felt like from our ancestors! And although we are thousands of miles apart, these powerful young people show their spirit is still alive! I said a prayer over all of their lives that God would Bless And Keep them All the days of their lives. Keep singing young people and keep leading them young lady! Powerful voice!! 👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
It’s a Christian worship song
@@leadaheadleadahead2187we worship our Father who's SO NINI NA NINI = I AM THAT I AM & that has nothing to with Christianity & further more there's a distinct difference between what Christianity is & the GOD of shembe & what the figures like Moshue = Moses worshipped & we worship our father & we are his children I'm Nguni & his a son of naphtali genesis 46;24 all Bantu people come from that biblical linage 😊
I'm 52 born and raised in America so why these babies singing this song got me in tears 😢😢😢❤❤
its quite a spiritual song, the lyrics also have power that connects you to God
Through this Video, you have just sent Healing to the Nations. Thank You from New Zealand 🇳🇿 . Bless you South Africa 💯❤
How can I like this a million times, I wanna visit South Africa 😩🥺❤️
I wouldn’t if l were you. It’s one of the most dangerous countries on earth. Tourists have been held up at gun point, kidnapped or worse…
Be very very careful. Please do your research.
You should get your own experience! Beautiful country!
You are very welcome. We receive scores of tourists and visitors daily. It’s a beautiful country. Check out videos of some African Americans and Africans who visited and decided to move to SA for good. One love ❤
@@Nige.it’s the top 2 most visited countries in Africa, Morocco is number 1 so South Africa I s perfectly safe. Stop being envious…
I am indian but i couldn't stop crying listening to this
Why should being Indian stop you from crying
@@CaptainCubBossathey probably meant they don’t understand what they’re saying lol

I don't speak the language however they are definitely anointed. I feel it in my spirit and something in me calls me to this song. Beautiful! I get chills whenever I hear it
South Africans have beautiful voices
This brings tears knowing what is happening in our kids school daily. May god shield our kids from any dark clouds

They are so incredible. And the lead vocalist,🎉🎉❤❤ she is not even using a microphone. So powerful. Goosebumps all over.
Fabulous, girl nearest camera really wants to get the party going🤣
I swear 😂😂 been laughing she's ready

I was waiting for her to break out😄she had the rhythm in her!
I’m from the USA Louisiana and I’ve heard a many beautiful things but never like this! The lead singer is truly blessed and will go very far with that voice. It’s a must that I learn this song in its originality even though I don’t understand a word of it. Im crying just listening. Oh how beautiful!
Where is this school in South Africa? I would love to visit to hear this in person.
But how are they able to harmonize so flawlessly....the entire school?
I always question myself
They do that everywhere… on a bus, train, plane together you name it.
We sing everywhere, anywhere, we are a rhythmic nation.
@@mystynice56yes, you certainly are! Every culture has beautiful, God given talents, and Africa is definitely blessed musically!
Culture
One single vocalist balancing a huge whole harmonic choral group! Nice!
So proud of my country SOUTH AFRICA 🇿🇦. God gave us all when it comes to singing
Idk a single south African who can’t sing. And most of them have never taken a vocal class. It’s so beautiful
Aw I love how the young girl at the front really gets into it, charming and heart warming.
She is obviously an excellent dancer... and she does it subconsciously... like second nature to her. I think the video was focused on her deliberately. This is so awesome
WASHINGTON DC THANK YOU JESUS ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
10/10 doesn't come often. But here it is. Respect from Ireland.
Who cares about your accolades
I have goosebumps all over my body, it's so beautiful! 🥰 Greetings from Central Europe.
Such beautiful singing. And i love how effortlessly they sing, and no need of instruments. And such flow of dancing and singing.
Agree
I think the acoustics of the courtyard helps too.
The power in this young lady's voice. Just incredible. No mic required. This performance gives me chills. So beautiful.
Africa is blessed. We are one. ❤ From Nigeria
They singing not knowing we bout to be watching all the way here from America crazy...good job children, hopefully my family and I can move to Africa soon.
Extraordinarily beautiful, powerful, and moving. God is so good, and I am so blessed to have watched this video.

Beautiful!❤ Soulful❤ Spiritual❤Thank you Phila for demonstrating God's favor. Bless you and all the students. Best thing on the internet ny far. 🏆
Welcome!
The wait for the lead singer was brutal ❤❤😢
Pure angels from heaven
The passion of these children lifting their voices - how beautiful! Look how much fun they’re having. Wish I could be part of something like that. God bless you children of South Africa.
A prayer to God the Father with all the love and enthusiasm it deserves. Beautifully done.
I’m so glad that I’m so in tune with God that HE allowed this Universal Language to find me as a time in my life when I need it the most. Thank you 🙏
Wish I had an extended version so I can't just play on repeat. Lead singers voice is so powerful and strong, Beautiful song well done choir !!!! #Amazing
BAWO,BAWO BLESS THESE YOUNG TALENTED MEN AND WOMEN!!!
Amen dude…⚔️🙏🏽⚔️
Awesome ❤
4:17 😢. Her closing was so powerful, it brought tears to my eyes. I needed this in ways not even I can fully comprehend.
Hi, just curious, what’s your culture?
African people were born with a gift to worship, just hits different. Wow! Praise the Lord of all heaven Jesus Christ 🙏 Amen
This song gave me the shivers. I don't understand these words in my conscious mind but i somehow know them in my soul and it humbles me. These are my people as I'm a Jamaican. Love AFRICA my motherland from whence they took my ancestors.
I've seen many versions of this song but this is the best. Such a natural magical quality. Promise of youth.
These sweet babies. Just imagine them as adults. I can't wait, they're already powerhouses. Blessings.
This gives me Sarafina The Movie vibes. We Nigerians wonder if every South African can sing.
Angelic harmony. Special mention - the lead vocalist. ❤❤❤
Yes. Wonderful voices. Also African people have perfect rythm.
We have the voices but even if u can’t sing ,we use to sing struggle songs even as kids ,so maybe practice makes perfect
Watching from Scotland 🏴 absolutely stunning! Lead vocalist is amazing 🏴🤝🏻🇿🇦 I have south African cousins, this is amazing
Am I the only one who got goose bumps from watching this? If only my girls school assemblies had been this uplifting. The harmony and rhythm is so beautiful and soothing and so precious. This definitely bought a tea tree to my eyes. (In a good way). ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful. Moving. That soloist's voice is magnificent.
Even though I don't understand the language but I love this song and I keep playing it most at times God bless them all God bless Africa
Protect me, Lord, from the sorrows of this world ... Lord, thank you that I'm still under your protection
You are gifted. Your voice, oh my goodness. Words are not enough. Thank you for touching my soul today.
From the days of Sarafina, l have fallen in love with South African voices.
Love from West Virginia, USA! What a gift it is to hear this. Thank you so much!
These school children are incredible! Such beautiful harmonies and the soloist is ❤❤❤❤ such an amazing beautiful voice…I loved every second
Hope your prayer is answered and Africa lives up to your expectations.
Certainly did for me and hope it does again.
Listening to this & makes me sad we African Americans don't know our native tongue & we got separated from our history.I did an Ancestry Test & I'm mostly south African.I hope I get to go back & meet family I don't know. This is so beautiful 😢❤
This girl can sing wow ❤❤🎉🎉🎉
Wow. Such gorgeous music Africa has given the world. You hear the same musical roots through gospel, spirituals, and military cadences and working songs.
Loved that little young lady's involvement...her movement.
Love to all schoolkids❤..thank you❤…beautiful ❤️
You just have to like the vocalist...her spirit. Thanks for the full version man!
