Fun fact. In that time period in the south. A casket handle was called a 'Hukkle' the main pallbearer was called a 'Hukkle' Bearer. This person would also stay at the grave until sunset which was when you were considered officially dead. Which begs the question. Did Doc Holiday (being from the south) actually tell Johnny Ringo " I'll be your hukkle bearer" ???

Yes! It's been misconstrued since the movie came out. He actually says "I'll be your hukkle bearer"
So interesting! I’ve never heard that about hukkle bearer. In “Tombstone”, Doc literally says “huckleberry”. Movies 😂
Oh my goodness. I was a military brat and grew up in Charleston and London. Then we moved back to NC, and the Biltmore estate is 45 minutes from home. So, I have a tremendous passion for historical houses. I would gladly coexist with some ghosties to live in such a grand home. I looked at their website, and the candlelight tour sounds incredible. Im glad someone is restoring this beauty.
This Gorgeous Castle should be made into an exquisite hotel ! After restoration, This would be absolutely stunning to hold special events and weddings at ! It is a shame that so many of these stunning Castles and Mansions, are just left to deteriorate and end up being destroyed by a wrecking ball ! I hope they are able to finish fixing this gorgeous place up and turning it into something very special !
That landing with the stained glass and the pew-like window seats I think is my favorite part of the house.

The house my mom grew up in was built in the 1800’s. My parents now own it and did a full remodel. The roof was weighed down with weights. No wonder we had to completely redo the roofline. It was sagging bad, windows and ceiling leaking. We also found old farm tools used as rebar when we replaced the outdoor window sills, old tintype photos, part of a shoe and more stuff buried around the yard right up near the house. Pretty cool.
The shoe was left there on purpose.

Amazing Property, Wow ! I do miss the Beautiful Architecture in New England. I moved to Arizona from Cranston, R.I. 32 years ago. There is not much here that lends itself to the Old World Architecture back there.

Hi, great video ! I noticed a disembodied voice (woman?) at time 26:20 when you were talking about the ballroom on the 3rd floor. To me it sounds like " we did".

These 360s are awesome thanks Jason, I watch mostly UA-cam on Samsung TV and a XGIMI projector that has Android 10 operating system and I was able to simply move the joystick using the arrow buttons on both these devices remotes, it was great experience watching this, I'm gonna buy a 360 camera.

I love this. You don’t get to really appreciate the historical property on ghost hunting shows, like the Winchester Mansion. It may be architecturally crazy at times, but it’s also quite beautiful.

TY for this amazing house tour! I love old houses. This home needs a lot of love, and demo/insulation and water proofing (and hidden kitchen and bathroom modernization). If only I had 100Million dollars or nice working magic wand I'd go fix up this old gal. The "ballroom" for servants was probably more of a chapel/mess hall since servants had their own kitchen. The original owners would not have stood for the noise and dancing and drinking. The reason there is no hallway for servants is it keeps them hidden, but this is considered a design flaw to have to travel through a room to get to another room to get to another room. Obligated rooms is what architects/home flow designers call it. The green carnival glass on display was considered junk by the owners of such a house, they would have had clear crystal. Anyone reading this might want to look up the 1800s dress on utube. Its what they would have worn.
