thanks for providing this! Two questions for you. Is there a reason you didn't tell your viewers about using white vinegar & table salt as pickle? Most people have those in their kitchens. You mentioned Sparex & citric acid, which leads into my next question. I purchased a can of Sparex over 10 years ago, but have still never used it. I read about white vinegar & salt as pickle & considered that much safer than having Sparex solution in my studio. I tried the vinegar/salt solution & it worked great! I've been using it ever since. Do you think the Sparex is any good any more? I think I opened the can once or twice, but otherwise it has sat on a shelf for over 10 years. I figured I need to pass it on to another metal worker or put it in my hazardous waste materials disposal box. What do you think? Your help is greatly appreciated (as are your videos)! Thank you!
Hi Jeanine, Thank you for watching and for your feedback! The use of the vinegar mixture is something we have never tried. We know there are a number of things out there that people discover that work...and that is awesome! We just showcase the methods we have learned and that work for us. I am not sure about the exact shelf life of unopened Sparex, but it might be about two years. The Sparex should look like small granules...but it's hard to say without looking at the product you have.
Learned a lot. I have been soldering a couple of years and you keep learning. You two are great!
Hi from Emerald City!!!!
I'm new to metal stamping and you two have made it really cool to learn
I appreciate the little tips here and there! The one about the right kinda clothes is a good one! It certainly makes sense! Great job!

Is there some reason why you can't just use jewelry glue for affixing small parts to each other like in this case?
You can certainly glue. Some people prefer soldering since it's pretty secure. Just another technique to learn :)
