Great video. I live in Adelaide, Australia, and I bought the Steam Deck OLED from Amazon Australia. The frame time pacing and 1% lows are so good. I have thousands of hours of desktop gaming experience, but I am happy to just play games on the Steam Deck from now on. The OLED screen is beautiful.

I hope you manage to save enough money to buy one. I think it is worth it. Personally I bought the 1TB version. And you can buy a large 1TB SD card to expand the memory as well which works just as well performance wise I think.
If you have a steam account can you download those and play those ? And is it like an actual gaming laptop but portable? Like can you download other games from the internet like you can do on a regular laptop

I would say it's because that's not a priority for Valve. Many people have understood that SteamOS is much better for a handheld. In fact, it benefits Valve that people cannot use Windows very well for now. But still, for people like me who use it as my main and only computer, it's handy to have Windows in an external drive just in case.

That's why ALL PC handhelds are trash in their entirety and have never improved for so many years and likely never will be good They keep shoving in 1080p+ resolutions, 120hz+ refresh rates, 25W+, RGB, etc, and it just makes them bad by default. They rly think that having more/higher specs will make a handheld better, but it works the other way around. Batteries are the bottleneck of erry handheld The one thing that they ALL refused to understand, is that handhelds are portable-first. They can't afford super high resolutions, frame rates, RGB, etc without sacrificing the whole point of it being a portable device. It's PURE greed and poor design choices. It's been like that for like a decade now. PC handhelds have always sucked, and they will NEVER stop being trash VALVe is the only one who didn't shove a bunch of impractical BS in it and gave us a PC handheld that was ACTUALLY portable and can actually compete with Nintendo. The SD OLED even surpasses my 2DSXL's average playtime with 6h+ in open world games, and 8h-9h in 2D games at 90fps

But it is not best I have 2 steamdecks and a ROG ally. hardly use my decks always on my rog ally and quest 3. steamdeck has a better OS and that is it really. But it's not even better when you need to do stuff on windows etc.I have 2 battery packs btw so get plenty of battery time on my ROG ally.
@@YefimG Nah they fixed that with revision 8 and 9. I took my first one back that did that and got a revision 8 and it's been good for 7 months now. doesn't even get really hot like the early ones. Works great.I have a 1 terabyte SD card and a 2 terabyte SSd and I wouldn't risk that SD card if it wasn't fixed lol

@@YefimG they're right. they did already fix that. imagine how annoyed you would be if every time someone brought up the steamdeck, they just brought up firmware 1.0 where the battery life lasted a solid 30 minutes on a good day.
