To me it definitely is. I love this music in general, but this reel especially tingles my heart and soul in a special way. It has a combination of sad/motivational/heroic emotions.
Doubt anyone here has ever played Lego Universe when that was a thing but they used a beautifully slow rendition of this song and I always thought it was their creation. Weird to come full circle. Anyways, great song.
You would be wrong, I too played Lego Universe. Someone made an 8-bit version of this for a game I made and I wondered why it sounded so familiar, then I figured it out :)
Can someone pleaaase post the notes for this one, I can only find the original but this one got some awesome differences that I can't really figure out on my own without putting down a lot of time. :)
If you're still curious, the cooley's are a family that started a small band that became popular in parts around Ireland and America. Most famous of them is Joe cooley. Theres a cooley festival down in burr every year to celebrate the cooleys.
One of the best Irish reels...

Yeh, that's how I found this song as well, the Chantey Shanty/pirate cove theme. 's one of the better tracks in their soundtrack.
Joe Cooley was born in Peterswell over the road from where i live in Galway

Not long until I'll be learning this divine instrument

Why doesn't anyone play reels like reels.
What do you mean?
@@jan861 I don't know I was 15 when I wrote that
@@KrogOfTurtlePeople I thought you mean the kind of rhythm that is used here.
@Barbossa99 It's also the main tune on Tarvos :)
This life. LOL
Lit
It sounds so much as a neofolk song.
OMG
R.P.G.
When I play it sounds not even close to this epic version!
Is it me or does this reel sound very similar to the "Pigeon on the gate" reel?

It may not be the exact version but there's sheet music for a few versions here: thesession.org/tunes/1

Putter at the tune until you find it. And if you never find it, you're just as likely to find a way to play it cooler.
Samuel, check out the session .com. You'll find various transcriptions of various settings there and a whole lot more. cheers.
Where can I download this version? :)

What type of whistle are you using?

Think it might be a pennywhistle cos of the tinny yet softer tone
