I just had to get a bodhran after hearing this I couldn't stop listening then I cudnt get lessons to play both sides off the tipper so I taught myself and I can now play that she is playing shes an amazing bodhran player really pushed me to get one and play it I also got a tin whistle and started playing after 32 years I had played from age five to twelve then stopped but I never forgot how to cut roll slide my dad's a good teacher he reckons he played with the fiddle player in Spain or Germany he'd go anywhere in the world for a good session lol he wud off been playing guitar or banjo I just picked all up by ear great on the whistle i love the guitar player he's full off life in his music and accordian style somtimes I do that with tin whistle just blend the notes in great well done guys my favourite version off Joe Cooley's reel love drowsey Maggie you can't go wrong with those there two off the top played session tunes in Ireland thank you for giving me that push when I first heard you guys playing listening to you partly saved my life I'd severe covid and covid pnuemonia with fluid in my lungs I kept playing my whistle and doctors said it helped I had virus for 12 weeks was crawling to the bathroom so thank you guys if I hadn't off heard you I don't think I'd off got that whistle and started playing it I believe it saved my life because hospital wasn't admitting people here in Ireland last march they sent people home that died but that whistle kept my lungs working and exercised through the choughin stopping having to stop every few notes was horrendous but Im back on it will never stop playing that or my drum and playing along to you tube has left me never bored in the lockdowns

Em, I have a question. Does this Drowsy Maggie has another name (that doesnt have Maggie or anything)? Because I haven't heard this name before, but I am sure I know the tune, I just can't recall the name.
    Thank you!

Nope!!! Two of the most popular reels in irish music. Maybe people call them other names but in Ireland they are the names we gave them.
