Sharon's mandolin playing is beautiful. She seems so at ease while also radiating the love for the playing of the tune. She just reflects a personality while playing that makes me believe that she is a beautiful person.
Sharon Gilchrist is new to me. is the Bluegrass Week Staff her band? Does Sharon travel with her own band? Always confused with new (to me) performers, but would love to catch a live performance nearby so would like to know more.
Watch her in the Rowan Rice quartet, superb music from every player, Peter Rowan was associated with New Riders of the Purple Sage, hippie bands always had great names. He was even in a band that used to open for The Doors!
How 'bout a cd released a couple years ago, with Sharon (bass), Darol and some real whiz-kids? www.amazon.com/anda-Darol-Anger/dp/B00IJT5V80#customerReviews I find it addictive.
During my Pseudo-Hippie teen years I recall hearing of this fabled "New Riders of the Purple Sage." I assumed they were a psychedelic pipe dream, but if they were fact, then the man is a legend! On a serious note, love the music, will research Sharron and Peter more. Thanks for the info!
completely off topic, but: Just took a few minutes to check New Riders, and it reminds me of Quicksilver Messenger, which I haven't listened to in years! Gonna have a blast exploring both, thanks!
Great song and great musicians but I think Darol needs to play at least some of the original melody. He's a great fiddler but he's so far from the tune that I wouldn't recognize it if not for Sharons picking

She is!
And no visible tattoos😄
really great mandolin teacher as well
Being her brother, I can confirm that your assessment is correct, sir.
simply fantastic all round. Music to make you feel so happy.
Always liked this tune, so evocative.
Worked with Sharon in Nashville at a local restaurant. Soft spoken but a musical giant(ess). Pretty as ever too
Well, now that was fantastic..love the arrangement...and we could stand to hear Casey Henry on the banjo...give her a break!!
my grandparents are in a band and I love it when that play this song
Love this rendition, I'd never heard the tune before. Beautiful music.
Wonderful music- joyfully played and appreciated
Sharon congratulations to you, and the band boys !!!
Sharon leading the way. Just great. With Mary B right on, too.
We miss you here in old Santa Fe Sharron. Great playing...now come home.
the chemistry on that stage Boiiiiii
Superb, music to celebrate being alive to
I'm glad I'm not alone. Music that celebrates life and makes you want to celebrate that life with a smile on your face and a jump in your step!
Great version.
Great video Sharon!
Thanks so much lovely song
Damn...she's got a great right hand. Very economical, lots of punch, emphasis where necessary, and great clarity.
That definitely is Chuck Norris. Go Chuck!!! 😊
tyler grant

+Mary Burdette but you are also pretty if you don't! Nice video.
your bass is smiling for you!
😃
You look good anyway😉
Can't hear the bass, but great tune, wonderfully played.
Chuck Norris sure can pick, too
😂
so true !
Tyler offers great guitar teaching on UA-cam!
Is that Casey henry on banjo? Why didn't she take a lead ?
Nice 😊!

👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That fiddler looks like an older Jerry Seinfeld.
With a bad rug on his head.
@@jamesbockenstette4332 I bet Jerry wishes his hair looked like that at this point. Lol
Yall ever killed a squirtle and made good gravy I doubt it
And you sir, what's your recipe?
Mini times. They would eat our strawberries, so I would sit on the back porch and wait with a 22
Sounds like Irish music.

Did you recognize it the other 3 times he played it in unison? That seemed like plenty to me. ymmv ;^)
Darol gets a little out there on this tune, but he's got the oldtime roots, and the chops, to do it well. Welcome to the 21st century.
I don't mind.
