Nicely done; that shot on the bridge of 154 was perfectly lit and absolutely captured the beauty of that moment. Famed rail photographer Jim Shaughnessy was a family friend and I well recall one day as a kid, out to capture some D&H ALCO PA's, standing next to him along a river for a very similar shot. I fired off my Argus C3 35mm but he simply put down his Graflex and watched the train roll on over the bridge. I innocently asked him why and he said: "The light wasn't right". I will never forget that lesson. Thanks for such great content!
Merry Christmas to you, Klondike Katie and all my American steamy sisters. My only complaint? That noisy helicopter. However, you weren't fazed, so credit where credit is due.
I was going to go take some photos of Southern 154 but I have both Covid and the Flu. Ah well, at least I live in Knoxville so once I am better I can take photos if it is still running.
Awesome video! 💯 It was nice seeing ya there! I almost went to the Cherokee bluff trail during my visit but I didn't know how time consuming it was to walk there so I stayed close to the tracks
Follow Cherokee Trail Rd past UT Medical Center, just before the big water tower there is a gravel parking lot and a gravel road blocked by a gate. You can walk from there or even drive up to the bluff if the gate is open.
Nice , no ditch lights or bright headlight , gaudy coaches and huge flags flying . Class act all the way ! Well done .
15:33 Jingle Bells on the Whistle. 👍👍

The whistle in the first clip is interesting. When I went it had some sort of 5 chime on it. Good stuff as always!
Awesome video! Seems like those chases went better than the one on the 4th lol
Thanks! My luck definitely turned around.

Sorry to hear that, I hope you're feeling better. There's always next year!
Cool!

Thank you! The gate to the trail was open the day I went so you could actually drive right up to the bluff!
What Whistle is that. Sounds very nice.
I went to see her on December 3rd and she was using a NYC 5 chime
She must be one of the very few steam locomotives that runs through a downtown of a major city in the U.S.
A rare sight to be sure!
I wish 154 ran more often
audio so good i though i heard gunshots outside.
I’m like 98% sure I saw you there
Question: I’ve never shot from the south side of the river on that hill. How do I go there?

7:49 listen to that echo
