The likelihood, per Brian’s remarks, of Shelby from Best of Both Worlds and perhaps Yar from Yesterday’s Enterprise - plus his general affection for Enterprise - gives me confidence in the direction of the line. The tactic of filling the voids is a good one, I think, because it celebrates more memorable characters (memorable on their merits rather than on their longevity) and favorite episodes. I have a few of the 7 1/2” Art Asylum figures from 20 years ago - everyone from Enterprise plus Locutus and the injured Data from First Contact - so I am pleased that Nacelle’s 7” figs may mesh well with those, in size and style.
I am absolutely going to need Picard and Kirk in their regular uniforms as Nacelle sculpts to go with these! Please do those too. I don’t care if they have been done 100 times if they weren’t done to perfection before. Make the 101st attempt the definitive version and we’ll all rest our case. We need a fully articulated Kirk for all those Kirk-Fu Judo moves! This line is going to be great!
The main characters haven't really been made at this scale yet. We have the old 90ies toys that are simply, pretty terrible, and then we have the gigantic super accurate toys with real fabric clothing that cost like 200$. And we had Playmates or some other company make just one wave of GI Joe sized 4 inch figures. That's all.
I totally agree, as I don’t have a classic Kirk, classic Spock, classic McCoy, or Picard in their regular uniforms and definitely need those in this new scale without having to pay $200+ to finally have them in my collection.
A complete disaster not releasing main characters. I’ve been waiting for a decent new Star Trek line forever. I don’t own Kirk, Spock, Picard and Data.
THANK YOU for saying that about Yesterday’s Enterprise Yar, I’ve been commenting that very thing places!!! Playmates was NOT a Yar from YE! Please make her, and Castillo!! What a fantastic trio to have on my shelf!!!!
I like the idea of these, but am really skeptical of the implementation. I think 1 or 2 main cast characters would help tent pole the line and carry it forward. And as a collector, sure I might have other Kirk’s and Picard’s, but I want one that matches in scale, sculpt, engineering and paint to the rest of the line on my shelf. Plus as stated, there is also the chance that someone buying this line for the first time won’t have those figures from the past.
This is a pretty unique way to launch a new Star Trek figure line. There’s a lot of passion behind it from Nacelle…hopefully the sales are at least strong enough to keep it going. I appreciate the drive to produce some obscure characters/obscure takes on popular characters. Hopefully we can eventually get the more mainstream characters as well. Make an entire wave of JUST the main cast from each movie (starting with The Motion Picture) and each series. Maybe something like that. So if the line ends, at least a few “teams” get completed.
A opportunity for some older and newer fans and collectors to get a good Classic Captain Kirk, Classic Spock, Classic Dr. McCoy, Star Trek 3 Klingons, Cpt. Picard, DS9 Cpt. Sisko, Cardassians, Jem’Hadar, Romulans, etc, with a mix of deep cut characters in the 1/12 scale with the articulation of Black Series or Marvel Legends would be great!
While I’m sure they will eventually give us the main cast of the various shows, I think this is a great idea. I absolutely need a Captain Claa and Vixis figure from Star Trek V!
I get it that there are tons of the main characters, but they are all from different lines that don't visually mesh well with the Nacelle line. I really believe that if you want this line to succeed with the fans at large, you need the main characters too. I have Playmates figures, and Art Asylum figures, and I don't display them together because they don't match. I would love to have a full collection in this style, but if the mains don't get made, I wouldn't be in on starting this line. Sorry to say, but as a collector, I want consistency in the looks of my displays. I hope you reconsider that approach.
I think the Ronny Cox figure of jellico in Star Trek next generation would go well with Neca robocop Peter Weller and terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger since Ronny cox worked with both actors in Paul verhoeven films where he played the villain.
I love Star Trek. I’ve seen every episode of every show and every movie in the theater. The only show I haven’t seen every episode of is the animated series. I was excited to see what Nacelle was going to do. But all these characters are such deep cuts, I don’t know who’s going to buy this. Maybe I’m wrong. I hope I am. But has there ever been another six inch Star Trek line? I mean, at least make half the wave recognizable. Who walking around in Walmart or target is going to buy these? Casual fans are not going to know who the hell any of those characters are. I don’t understand the logic here. Great figures. But too deep. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this Jay.
I appreciate another company picking up Star Trek line but I just wish it was 6 inch. To have star trek and star wars in same scale for some of us who love both properties would have better. Plus I'm not a fan of character selection. I don''t want this to be like simpsons line from super7. Do one main actor from each series. Picard, Spock, 7 of 9, Quark,T'Pol. Hit OS, TNG, Deep space, Voyager and Enterprise. each wave.
These look promising but I echo the numerous comments about including main characters - they could even do unique versions, for example Kirk in his captain's bomber jacket from Star Trek V. Nacelle want to hear the fans out via e-mail so if enough of us let them know we also want main characters then they may adjust their approach.
This is a *TERRIBLE* strategy. 👎👎 You are putting these in Target and Walmart, and expect people to buy these minor inside-baseball characters from your first Wave? This needed Kirk, Spock, Scotty Picard, Data, Worf, Seven, Janeway and others who are recognizable enough IP to casuals. Maybe even throw in Pike and Number One, since SNW promotes those characters in 2025.
@@christopherregister2838 Scott Bakula is taller than William Shatner plus the Art Asylum/Diamond Select heads are sculpted with a neck and not made to go on a ball jointed neck. It would definitely require customizing skills.
They are in the 6 - 7 - 8 inch scale range. 7 Inch being the norm, some smaller/shorter figures being 6.5 and some oversized figures being 7.5 - 8+ inches.
Valkris was a Klingon? But... she looks nothing like post-augment-virus Klingons looked at this time on TNG and the movies. She has no cranial ridges...

Exo-6.
I’ll take a Party Pack of Fives Weyouns! Weyoun 4 through Weyoun 8! I hope they make Gul/Legate Damar!

The only ones I want are Archer and Sulu!
I want a new Marauder Mo. My moogie warned me not to remove it from it's original packaging.

Without the main characters I'm not interested!

Why don't they make a kruge & maltz figure from Star Trek III The Search for Spock.
Definitely agree! I’ve been wanting a Kruge & Maltz for quite some time.
I really hope they do. I had the figures DST/Art Asylum were going to make on preorder, and then they cancelled that shit.

Weren't the Diamond Select figures 7 inch scale too? I'm happy they'll be in the same scale as those just in case it doesn't go past a few waves.
Doug, you and Arnold are cool 😎
Why don't they make a seven of nine figure.

I'll buy these when they hit Ollie's. Whats the point of these if you dont have the main characters???
I want Picard and Kirk!
Mirror Archer is sick!
Wouldn't a simple head swap just make it kirk.

I kinda want the Motion Picture Leisure suits to happen...
Bones with his beard and medallion!
they need to make bridge sets
