This came at a good time. Your explanation of pnp current mirrors with the added context of npn really made it sink in for me, thank you.
There are at least 2 other methods or variations on this to create a current mirrors or like on top of the differential amps and does equal job.
Current mirrors on a chip die are differently executed, "hack a day" on hacking chips.

I see it as problem the traditional pnp current mirror on top of the differential amp, since the legs alternate but it only uses on leg to set the current and cutting of when the polarity of wave switches, why did they did do that?
