Many public safety agencies are affected, and unfortunately, this trend might spread to more states thanks to this companies greed. i agree. I heard they are one of the many drone companies in America (maybe even the primary one) that is lobbying the government to ban DJI drones which are currently the best in the business and is far superior and well established in DFR and SAR in America. In fact, many of these departments are sad and in shocked that they may have wasted money to stocking on several DJI drones for their operations. IMO, that is quite lame and very unsportsmanlike for Skydio.

I have over 165k invested in our work fleet. Most consists of DJI products. We are moving to skydio and some built in house stuff running PixHawks now. Getting DJI's "radiometric" outputs to work with industry standard software like FLIR thermal studio is an exercise in pain. If memory serves only the first generation Mavic Enterprise can even produce an actual radiometric jpeg. All the following versions require DJI's proprietary garbage. The Skydio isn't magic but at least it works reliably and I can actually get a technician into a chat that has used one IRL to create a deliverable.
It seems like they still have a lot of work to do when it comes to video latency and signal quality. Maybe the next version will be better.
