You should do a drag race inspired series with mystery/thriller authors and every episode of the series you would read one book per author and then at the end of the episode you choose your least favorite two books. The bottom two authors would then face off in a "lip sync" where you would read the blurbs on the back of next episodes picks, and whichever book blurb sounds more interesting gets to stay, and the loser sashays away, until only one author remains and is crowned the winner. This would be so campy and lot's of mysterys would be read.
I found your channel from our shared opinion on One by One. An underrated great. Thank you for continuing to defend her. Now instead we’re getting ZERO DAYS and the ilk!!! I rest my case.
So excited for the new Richard Osman series. I knew what your best book would be 🤣 As for that girl recommending people NOT read the third book in The Good Girl's Guide to Murder.....is she for real, to me that was the BEST book in the series, I loved them all but the third one was brilliant.
Loved this video! The drama in some battles was killing me, (though I did think the Osman would win = which is not a bad thing at all - we want the Truth for you. It must be a blind draw at the outset, to make that one brutal quadrant happen. I got some book ideas from this and you are leading me fast toward picking up my first Richard Osman, for sure. The edits once again were hilarious and wonderful! Thanks Meg.
Omg not me hearing "regency bias" instead of "RECENCY bias" every time its said. Im today years old when i finally heard it right and it makes SO MUCH more sense. 🤦♀️
If you'd like to read a non murder mystery book focused on humanity and relationships, I highly recommend 'Remarkably Bright Creatures'! Part of it is from the perspective of an octopus and it's so charming
I think you would really like Over My Dead Body - murder mystery where a woman solves her own murder as a ghost. It's hilarious and a good mystery. Audiobook is good too
Thank you for letting me know Richard Osman's new book title. Immediately at the top of my list of 2024 most anticipated books. And Janice Hallett's book also comes out the same month in the US. Those are my two favorite mystery writers. September going to be crazy.
As someone Who read the thuesday murder club, and really have no interest to countinue the series(I know Im sorry) I would love an all spoiler video about the book. Because I love to hear you talk about it. And I am curious, I just dont bother reading them 😅
Dying….. I felt GGGM was childish and pondering if I should turn The Thursday Murder Club into a DNF. I am going to continue that if both of these aren’t good to me… it must be me. As always super fun to watch
I've read the first Lady Hardcastle book. Now, I love me some cozy mysteries, especially historical cozy mysteries, but this one was just ok to me. Do they get better? The audios are all on Everand, so I will totally commit to reading them all, but they have to get just a little bit more...I don't know. I just felt like Lady Hardcastle herself didn't do much.
Not surprised by the winner, obviously. But I think it would have made more sense to combine series together on both sides, not just Lady Hardcastle. It felt weird to have one fully combined and one not.
Excuse me, I’m a foreigner, but for me There’s one and only Queen of Crime and the rest is just poorly written copy cat load of honeysuckle! And Lady Hardcastle is especially lousy(sorry). I also enjoy P.D James’ writing though the atmosphere is a bit on a heavy side.
Is this even a competition/tournament for Meg? It has to be The Thursday Murder Club series xD
Right? She got me to read it and it's fabulous! As soon as I saw her list, I knew it was my fave!

This is such a good idea
This was probably the least surprising battle for Meg ever. 😂
I think we all knew how this one was going to end lolol! I'm going to have to read the few books on the bracket that I haven't yet!
No "The Mysterious Case of the Alperton Angels"?
I'm surprised this isn't included on your list
Prediction: the thursday murder club
I just started the Thursday Murder Club today! very excited for it.

The Silent Patient twist is the one I remember most! Remember where I was sitting and what I said out loud.
If it's not apart of the Thursday Murder Club series, I'm gonna be so shocked
I LOVE One by One and The Paris Apartment!

Agree with you. I loved "One By One"
I need more too
You have to try the Amory Ames series, you’ll love it, plus it’s complete
I'm reading The Change by Kirsten Miller right now and i think you could absolutely LOVE it too!!
1:30 in and im calling Last Devil To Die! Prove me wrong Megan!
Wow! Ok, shocker, not!! I do totally agree though. We are blessed to have Richard Osman on our bookshelves!
the wrong place wrong time book is my favorite

Not related but i love it when you wear that shirt! It's so cool.
lol I thought the Paris apartment was so boring 😬
You have to read the Manners and Monsters series, murder mystery with a fabtasy/paranormal twist with a hint of Jane Austen. What else could you want?

If a Thursday Murder Club book doesn't win, Megan has lied to herself and all of us 😂
Richard Osman is my weird celebrity crush and I will die on this hill

I love ‘one by one’, I don’t understand why everyone hates it 😭
💗💗
I wish someone would of told me not to read the third book in A Good Girls Guide To Murder..... Don't hate me.
If it isn't a Thursday Murder Club book, I'll eat my hat. After I've bought one 😅
i have a feeling i know the answer before i’ve watched 😂
I figured it out! Your eyes look like honey wrapped in coffee 😊
First commentttttt mothrrr effrrsss! 🤣😘
