Hello and thanks for the video.
Do you know if these motors are all 24vdc and they just wired them in parallel?
I have a bed base that originally didn't come with massage and I'm basically upgrading my own base to accommodate massage motors and I just want to confirm that they are not 12vdc motors wired in series instead.
I've found motors but I need that crucial info.
Also do you know if motors for lifting, the actuator, that have 4 pin plugs can be plugged into a 5 pin din?
The new control box for my tempur pedic bed, which is also tempur pedic. But it has 5 pins in the socket to plug in the actuator, but my motors on the bed just have 4....
I think the extra pin is just to detect Reed switch but i am trying to find someone with technical experience to verify this.

Hi David, thanks for reaching out. We do not recommend making any none standard repairs or modifications to the adjustable bed base systems as it may result in damage, injury or loss of warranty. For any other questions, please reach out to info@maloufhome.com. Thanks!

@@Maloufsleep I appreciate your concern but this is not a unit under warranty. I picked up a bunch of parts second hand really cheap and this is more of an experiment to see if I can take the pieces I picked up and make it work.
I like to tinker with things.
I also understand fairly well basic electronics.
At this point, I believe I've found the answer. I've looked up nearly a dozen beds with dual massage motors at head and foot and every one was wired in parallel with 24vdc motors. As long as the total current draw of the motors is equal to the massage port current output, it should be fine.
Again, I appreciate your concerns but if I listened to every time someone gave me a warning like yours, I'd never have figured out how to build all the cool things I've build throughout my life.
I'm not looking for you to protect me from burning up my device, I'm just looking for information so I can make my own decisions about something I'm going to be doing anyways.

Update.... All the experimenting I'm doing has paid off. I have successfully done what I say out to do so far.
I am so glad I didn't let obstacles get in the way.
The unit is tested and fully working on my test bench.
All I need to do is cut holes for massage motors and mount everything in bed.
I even was able to figure out a way to double the amount of massage zones /motors!
So glad I didn't give up!

Hi Max, thanks for your message. All you need to do is give our warranty department a call at 800-517-7179. Ask to speak to a base technician and they can help you with the purchase of a replacement motor for the base. Please let us know if you have any additional questions!
