So not to be pedantic, but these are from the Edo period so not ancient. I like picking up some Edo bars occasionally when I see a deal on them.
For those that are curious the largest denomination is a Ryo = 4Bu = 16Shu = 4000Mon
Some swords and daggers had a compartment to hide the square coins inside
Sorry to add, how to converet a Ryo is up to debate. The common answer (in a jr high school text books) is that it was equal to 100,000 Yen at the start of the Edo period and had collapsed close to 4000 by the end of it.
Another answer you see 120,000 yen but only able to buy the modern equivalent of about 40,000 yen in rice
