When you were in the office supplies section you pass the electric retro pencil sharpeners. Those are running on Etsy at this moment in time for nearly 40 bucks each, and there aren't many.
Margaret, (sorry for this long comment) I see you do what I usually do on Ebay where pricing is concerned: I price it at what I think is right or best and usually with a “ make an offer.” I rarely do auctions anymore unless I’m absolutely certain to get at least a few competing bids. I cannot begin to recall all the items I see when I look up ”solds” that sold for $1 or $3 or $5 and know that it should have sold for often many times that. I wonder if the Ebay sellers just don’t know that they are basically giving away their stuff? Do they not know the RISK of listing with such a low starting bid? Here’s what I began to figure out when I kept getting burned: For some resellers who have a huge following on UA-cam, I’m talking hundreds of thousands or more, they could list a plastic spoon and get 10 bids on it. I’m exaggerating of course, but I’m sure you get my point. So for anyone else out there who may lose on their listings for auction, if you want to be more secure about getting your stuff sold at a reasonable price that makes it worth your while, list it as “Buy it Now” and be willing to take offers. The interested buyer may or may not ask you to take an offer.
I always pick up milk glass vases if I can get them for $2 or less. Not a big profit but people like them for wedding decor so many times they will buy all that I have in my booth. Wipe me out and then I’m on the hunt again!
In reference to your cat Laurel Birch items: I majored in Art History (and philosophy - it's easy to see why I sell on eBay for a living) when describing a work of art for a gallery you couldn't say "Picasso Style" instead you would say, "Unsigned Cubist Painting in the Style of Pablo Picasso." Although I don't know if that protects us on eBay listings.
You are a sweetheart! Thanks so much for telling us all this valuable information, I just appreciate you so much and wish you to do extremely well in your resales! You are so nice!
Fire and light is hot and have wine glasses different colored stems (stems alone are valuable) also, Murano art glass sells for high dollar (Jordan imports)
That little white "spinning top" looking item in the box is a vase. I'm always drawn to anything made by Rosenthal because it's a Bavaria Germany company, which is where my daughter is currently living. I could only find one online with a price and it was 20 euros. So not extremely valuable, but still cool the way it would sit on the table. I sold a white Rosenthal vase quite a few years ago on Ebay. I don't remember much about it, but I always remember it being something that had some pretty decent resale value.
I love that I learn from your videos. I will keep my eye out for ginger jars and metal animal figurines, although I tend to buy any small animal that is in good shape against my will :D If you are looking to learn about glass, I've learned a tremendous amount about glass from Crazy Lamp Lady.
Love, love love your channel! The blue and white plate you pick up at time stamp 17:35-6 Says: Julen 1979 on it. I believe this is a "collector's series": made in Norway. My Mom used to collect them and I have a few of hers. eBay listings shows prices of $15 to 25 USD I ❤ H. Potter, too!
Awesome for you to share this information and showing comps on eBay. Will definitely keep a look out for item you mentioned. ? What are your thoughts on puzzles, games, Vinyl LP albums and hot wheel cars, do you pick those up, do you have a video on this made I can look at
When I look at solids, I also think that some things could have sold for more. I don’t do auctions unless I’m REALLY sure that the price will continue to go up and up. I think sometimes people assume that they will get a ton of bids, then the item sells for far less than it’s worth. Great shopping trip and advice again!
Awe! I have those shelf sitter frogs. I bought them after seeing them on your channel, knowing they were something to be on the lookout for. Thank you!
I loved seeing my dual frog candle holder I purchased from you awhile back. It’s a great conversation piece, and I love it!! I’m always on the lookout for unique frog items. 🐸
That glass ashtray is mid century Murano glass from Venice. Looks like it has some gold or silver leaf shot through and expanded into a dispersed glitter effect during the mouth blowing process. Prices vary, but fancy mid century stores sell Murano glass ashtrays for $125-$200 or so. More for really special ones.
The word is pomander. A pomander is also a ball of scent made of all kinds of things, including oranges studded with cloves for the Christmas holidays.
I find it so interesting what others pick up in different parts of the country. I recently picked up 2 of those metal frog candlesticks for $2 ea. "dancing frogs" possibly bronze, I was thrilled. I stay away from break-ables.
Don't be afraid of breakable items (glassware, etc.). Wrap them in SMALL bubble wrap and then use packing peanuts so that there is at least and 1.5 inches on all sides of box. Make sure there are no pockets of space and seal up and shake. You should hear NO MOVEMENT. You are done. PS. If you can't kick it down a flight of stairs and not worry, you didn't pack it correctly and start over. DO NOT write "fragile" on the box. THAT doesn't matter. Warehouse and carriers are not "gingerly" walking your fragile package to the conveyor or front door. They are rushing to get the job done. Plain and simple. I've shipped glassware for years. NO ISSUES.
I just passed on that blue floral ginger jar you sold for $50 plus dollars but the one I saw was about 4 inches. I might need to go back and get it. It was marked Japan and a makers mark which I can’t remember now.
Heartbreaking when I spot something beautiful & it’s damaged! I did buy a small teapot with a broken lid (Limoges) for $2.99 that went for $130 but that is a rare occurrence.
I can see that's not what you're looking for but I spotted those vintage electric pencil sharpeners at 26:26 and I'll bet those would have a fetched a few bucks!
I picked up the exact same floral piggy pomander this afternoon. It’s rare that I can say I paid less in Canada for thrifted items than you can find in the States but the little pig was super cheap here.
Yep, you have to be highly selective when buying figurines and “cutesy” stuff for resale. And even when it’s “vintage” doesn’t even mean you’re gonna get a good price or even get it sold. I learned that the hard way.
Rabbits are my animal and I love the one playing the guitar that you sold. I have one that reminds me of that. It is in a tuxedo and it is holding a tray which can be used for holding business cards, or whatever. I bought it at an antique shop and I’m sure I didn’t pay more than $20. I see a couple on eBay. One is $139 and one is a crazy $528!
I’m a Harry Potter fan, too. I would have a hard time parting with my HP stuff, unless it was a duplicate. I’m just starting out as a reseller, so your videos are very instructional for me. Thanks!
That little top from Rosenthal was probably worth picking up! Small vase from German designers-looks like there are larger ones too. I saw Rosenthal and Weiss, lol and did a google search. Of course I can't read the value because everything is in German!
I picked up a box of nurse figures on half price day at estate...One is vintage hand blown and is listed for $90.00. Vintage figures are almost always worth $2.
Really really like your videos. Excellent instructions and so interesting. However we can't do comps on past sales histories and more on ebay can we? I don't see the option on my Android any more.
The glass tulips are wine goblets. I believe they're from a from a collection commissioned by Neiman Marcus "Spring Garden"? Not sure, but they're hand blown glass. There were 4 colors, red, yellow, orange and blue. I'm not sure how much they're worth, but they they may have some value. I know I'd LOVE to have them!
Im new to channel and new to resaling. Im interested to know if u reommend starting as a casual seller or begin a starter store. Also, in how u do ur shipping? Do u normally pay for shipping? Ty
Hi. Can you please record and post your videos on a higher resolution? They look granular on 480, specially when you share your computer screen, it's hard to read.
I sold one my mom bought. Its similar to the one in the video. Used key word celadon. If there's a large Asian mark, mine said Made in China. What a letdown.
Yes, I was going to comment the same. The word celadon to describe that specific green glaze is important. Istanbul has a whole museum for celadon pottery.
That white bunny with gold ears was from Target's Dollar spot...They were $3 and I have 2 of them in different poses.
When you were in the office supplies section you pass the electric retro pencil sharpeners. Those are running on Etsy at this moment in time for nearly 40 bucks each, and there aren't many.
Saw that also
Yep you beat me to the comment.
Yep!
Have one from many years past that was my parents. Wouldn't part with it for anything, it works so well.
Margaret, (sorry for this long comment) I see you do what I usually do on Ebay where pricing is concerned: I price it at what I think is right or best and usually with a “ make an offer.” I rarely do auctions anymore unless I’m absolutely certain to get at least a few competing bids. How much do you sell them for out of curiosity?:)
I love that your cat is named Pancake.
Whenever you come home with shopping bags I'm sure your kids are like " I wonder what random stuff mom brought home this time" haha

Great haul! The aynsley dresser set is collectible. As for Harry Potter, why did they all have to grow up? 🤔 😥😔😟

I have never smoked but, I always look at ashtrays when thrifting. Some of the mid-century and unique ones I really like.
I thought it was the (hanging) dip bowl for a MCM chip & dip set
Laurel Burch died in 2007 at the age of 61. I love her work
The word is pomander. A pomander is also a ball of scent made of all kinds of things, including oranges studded with cloves for the Christmas holidays.
Oh Margaret, I need that dresser set! ♥️♥️♥️ And tray!
:) Listing them today! :)

The soap stone sculpture that you picked up before the Laurel Birch cat was for a fish tank
I picked up the exact same floral piggy pomander this afternoon. It’s rare that I can say I paid less in Canada for thrifted items than you can find in the States but the little pig was super cheap here.
The Noritake piece; I collect the exact pattern, with a swan on the water , beside the tree. They went for 20 to 30, with handles, last year.

Great video. You are selling some things that I have definitely been passing up!
Thanks!
LOVE the style of your show. Thank you.
Glad you enjoy it!
Those electric pencil sharpeners can sell for pretty good money!
Yes! I've seen that those for good money, as well
The gold dish with the small hole was an ikebana flower holder. They can be worth a lot.

Totally!
same for "I've got" "hasn't got" it's got".
Ok, I'll stop.
Great vid! THX
The Ansli set with tags still on was a steal. I can't believe people pay those prices online for this stuff.
Oh my goodness! I've passed up so many of those metal figures. Thanks for another informative video!
Happy to help!
I have a question. How do you decide when to pick something up, and if it's worth the pickup? Or spending the money on it, rather?
That little top from Rosenthal was probably worth picking up! Small vase from German designers-looks like there are larger ones too. I saw Rosenthal and Weiss, lol and did a google search. Of course I can't read the value because everything is in German!

Anything elephant yes especially when the trunk is up
I do a lot of thrifting as well. Figurines can go for a lot if you find the right thing.
I picked up a box of nurse figures on half price day at estate...One is vintage hand blown and is listed for $90.00. Vintage figures are almost always worth $2.
Love your utube, I learn so much. Thanks. The Nitch Lady on utube is good to learn about Glass. 🌹🌹
I would have been crazy happy to find the Rosenthal piece! 😍
I learn so much from watching you shop...BTW, I am still cracking up over your Instagram haunted doll posts...hysterical!
I had too much fun with them!
The David Birch phone booth teapot you picked up last might have been a good pick. His stuff goes for high prices
I never find those( grapes) in as pretty an arrangement. Awe shucks.
Really really like your videos. Excellent instructions and so interesting. However we can't do comps on past sales histories and more on ebay can we? I don't see the option on my Android any more.
The wooden turtle was a pincushion back in the 70’s
It was a ikabana vase, Japanese Floral design container.
That pig with the blue on it is from dollar tree
What app do you use to look stuff up ? ❤
The M&M caught my eye.
The glass tulips are wine goblets. I believe they're from a from a collection commissioned by Neiman Marcus "Spring Garden"? Not sure, but they're hand blown glass. I saw those too, Iwas hoping she would pick them. I like to look for barware while I'm out.
Great video. Loved this format.
Loved the painted owl!
First time here, Love your video.
Laurel Burch did Pass Away several Years ago. Very Collectible!
The set of grapes on that lower shelf! You dropped the ball, honey! If those were lexan, you are talking about some SERIOUS MONEY.
The two bunches of grapes at 8:55...! Couldn't tell anything about them... were they flocked? Frosted glass?
That Bell statue
Love the wooden bowl. How much was it selling for.
I always look for vintage pencils
The yellow mm in the recliner was cute. M&M' r collectables. I don't collect them.
it looked like it was $1. she didnt even look at it.
I thought he was adorable too!
I LIKE THAT PURPLE OWL MY FAV COLOR AND I LIKE OWLS

The round box with flowers on it - might be a hair box… it was with a couple other things….
Hey Margaret how are you and the boys? Yours e so fantastic and smart.I just love love your videos.
My kids are doing very well. Thank you so much for asking!
I am always amazed at the heavy items you pick up, like bronze or cast iron doorstops. Don't they cost a fortune to ship?
It can, but I do buyer pays shipping
Are there brands that one should know when sourcing ginger jars or are they just popular because they're ginger jars?
I don't buy ginger jars with the finial lids. They always remind me of crematorium urns!
A friend uses them for pet ashes. I've given her a couple of pretty ginger jars.
I thought they were just for ashes, had no idea they were ginger jars at all! 😂
@@susanegley4149 So where do you keep your candied ginger?? ROFL 😂
Hi. Can you please record and post your videos on a higher resolution? They look granular on 480, specially when you share your computer screen, it's hard to read.
I've passed on a white bunny gold ears just like the one you did here in Ohio.
The eyebrows on that doll, though!
When I was in Jordan and visited Petra they had a lot of different animals like the owl there for sale.
do you mind sharing what camera and lighting you use for your listing photos? I need to upgrade; thanks!
I use my iPhone
excellent info! thank you for sharing.
My pleasure!
That little strawberry house may have belonged to Strawberry Shortcake. 🤔
No. I got some for the fairy garden at the dollar tree
Great video
I’m really enjoying these videos. I think the jewelry is getting boring and everyone is doing them.
I had a beaded hippo that sold well. I wish I could find another
HOW AND OR WHERE DO YOU SEARCH TO GET THE PRICES, ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE A UNIQUE ITEM?
Google. Good question
But does anyone put ginger in their ginger jars?
The owls are home Co limited addition pieces which is home interiors
Thank you!
That good will was high on their prices.
mine in Memphis are twice as high, its awful...just call me Treasure Hunter
Great video! i learned a lot!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Grab that spittoon thing lol.

Candle holder
I think the flower glasses were wine glasses, not votives.
Re Laural Burch... There are a lot of knockoffs. Especially in Pier One, etc. If her signature is not on it, it is a knockoff.
You passed 2electric pencil sharpeners. If they work, they sell good. FYI
How do you know what price to sell ur items for
She researches on the internet what similar items have sold for.
Hi Pancake
If you missed something, you weren't meant to find it that day.
the Dutch girl looked neat
