Why Me?
There are a few Bill Cosby films that sadly, may never have blu-rays---they're great movies that deserve a release....MOTHER, JUGS AND SPEED, CALIFORNIA SUITE, UPTOWN SATURDAY NIGHT, A PIECE OF THE ACTION and LET'S DO IT AGAIN.
@@yournamehere6002 I just found out about Mother Jugs and Speed, that’s high on my radar loved to trailer and love the movie poster. California Suite I remember reading about in an old Playboy of all things haha still haven’t seen the film, and I think it was called something else in the blurb about it. The others haven’t heard of but always worth checking out thanks.
@@80sMadeConsumer MOTHER JUGS AND SPEED is one of those great politically incorrect movies from the 70's, like THE CHOIRBOYS, LAW AND DISORDER, THE SUPERCOPS or FREEBIE AND THE BEAN.
@@80sMadeConsumer CALIFORNIA SUITE is a Neil Simon comedy. He wrote THE LONELY GUY, MURDER BY DEATH and of course, SEEMS LIKE OLD TIMES!
The February Vinegar Syndrome releases are not for me which is good because I Preordered the dollars trilogy and long kiss goodnight from arrow. Also, I'm super stoked for stripes finally getting a separate 4k release. The last one i need set free from the Columbia classics boxes is Jerry Maguire. Great show btw and this always helps me get through the boring hours of my security job.
Glad it gets you through day. Same nothing from VS, but super stoked about Stripes, The Dollar Trilogy, & Long Kiss Goodnight.
I still have my Pioneer 301 changer full. Most dvds that never got an upgrade.
There’s too many good movies stuck on dvd.
@ and too many 4K movies that are bad.
Anyone have the German blu ray release of 13th Warrior? It’s available on EBay for $50 but wasn’t sure how the picture and audio is. I wish there was a U.S. release.
I don’t know still only have that one on VHS. 50 is more than I’d want to spend, check and see if you can find a used one on German Amazon, I sometimes find a used movie for a few bucks and shipping and tax still come out cheaper than eBay prices.
I bought the BD release from Amazon.France for $35 (that included postage) about 6 years ago. The picture & audio are great! Only "problem" is I can't turn off the French subtitles while listening to the English audio. The Pro is that I'm learning French! "Oh mon Dieu! Ils viennent"
Great live i do have a question if you don't mind i hadn't heard of 101 films before today i was wondering if most of their movies would play in a regular 4k player? Thanks
I haven’t bought any yet I’ll be sure to report my findings after these purchases. In general all 4k movies are supposed to all be region free. Blu-ray’s still can be region locked. To save from any hassle I would get a region free Blu-ray player at some point.
@80sMadeConsumer ok thanks I'm looking forward to seeing what your experience is with them
@@MAXIMUSTBE I just remembered I have the Sword and Sorcerer 4k from them. The 4k is region free and the two Blu-ray Discs are region B locked. One of the Blu-ray’s has all the special feature and I could only access from my region free player. You can get one for around a hundred bucks I did a couple of videos about region free players and where to get them.
JOY OF SEX was a most wanted for years, I can't even believe VS released it----I pre-ordered it immediately, even though I knew I could wait. But it's only had a VHS release, back in the late 80's. Directed by Martha Coolidge, who also did REAL GENIUS and VALLEY GIRL.
I looked this up and am probably getting it. Coming of age comedy with Christopher Lloyd and Ernie Hudson. I’m in!
@@Decarleaux_Collections Started out as a National Lampoon property, written by John Hughes and to star John Belushi!
@@yournamehere6002 yeah somehow when I saw the title I remembered the book at the library so I figured it was some DR. Ruth weird not funny film haha I’ll probably grab that too!
@@80sMadeConsumer It seems a lot of these titles coming out on VS and Kino are Paramount movies, so hopefully one of my most wanted titles--PERMANENT RECORD, with Keanu Reeves...will eventually get a release.
I’ve got a PS5 to watch my Blu-rays on is it worth buying a separate player or is the PS5 okay to use?
@@liamwalker5763 most people would never notice even on the same tv side by side no one can tell. On paper a good dedicated player is better, if you get into surround sound and all that there is an argument for a better stand alone player. I have my PS5 mainly as a backup.
@ okay thank you for the reply as my collection grows I’ll consider investing in a good player
@@liamwalker5763 no rush on that back in the day I used my PS3 as a Blu-ray player for years. When you do I’d look into getting a region free Blu-ray player, 4k movies are supposed to be region all region free, but if you start importing movies some are and some locked. I just imported a handful of Blu-ray’s from Germany, all American movies that we never got a Blu-ray for and all region B locked.
@@liamwalker5763 if you have any CDs the blu ray player will play them and you can get DV and HDR10+ ,(something i wasn't impressed with until watching The Expanse in 10+ )
My own personal opinion is if you're into films and spending money to get the best quality I would buy a player so you have no doubt you're seeing it in the highest quality as intended, the ub450 is a bargain
Arrow dont make great box sets so I don't get the fuss. I remember many people preferred
single slipcovers over Conan box set. Yeah I'm definitely getting $$$ Trilogy. The artwork looks better than KL and it got HDR.
I don’t know, I’m a sucker for a box set and some are better than others. I don’t need every movie or trilogy to have a box set. Happy to get these films this way. One I only have an old Blu-ray of The Good The Bad The Ugly. Two I don’t feel obligated to watch all three as soon as them come in.
@80sMadeConsumer Arrow hasn't indicated if Good bad the ugly has the extended cut. I'm sure they will provide more info. It is an epic long film so u need set a good time for watching.
THE BOYS NEXT DOOR and THE NEW KIDS are good 101 Films releases
@@yournamehere6002 I’ll be sure to check them out especially if I put in an order.
FX murder by illusion
A much more interesting title!
If there's ever some British only titles your after let me know and I'll help if I can
If you haven't seen it try Strange Days, but get the Germans copy it's a different scan, waiting for a 4k release, and Juliette Lewis in a chainmail top being dirty LOL and "rare export a Christmas tale", I got that to impress my girlfriend kids the first time I met them
Omg, Scandinavian style and not for children
Awesome I'll look into that version. Also some how I think I saw a trailer for Rare Exports. HAHA too funny. I'm always looking for different versions of my two favorite films Leon and The Fifth Element currently I have about 12 of each VHS, DVDs, Blu-rays, and 4ks from a few different countries so far.
@80sMadeConsumer you're not going to believe this but my mate who lives nearby is in the fifth element, only for a few seconds after the cuts were made, Ron Von bacon i think,he went on to claim Mr universe more times than anyone
@80sMadeConsumer what you don't see in the rare export trailer is all the old men are naked, actually a good original krampus tale made by people from there
