As a PlayStation user im very glad that Xbox users will be able to play this masterpiece. I have now 1087 hours played, and still counting. In case you dont know, this game have crossplatform. So PC-PS4-PS5-Xbox, will all be on same game.

What i can say is that, maybe its easier playing on PC but i dont have trouble playing it on PlayStation at least. Also ps support mouse and keyboard. Maybe Xbox too. The best advice anyone will give is to race through the first 50 levels of the MSQ (Main Story Quest) as soon as possible and then, really get into the story, because the total story of ARR and the 4 expansions are really amazing... A masterclass in storytelling, in fact. The gameplay, crafting and dungeons are also world class.

in the meantime you could look up PS4 controller guides. the game doesn't have set controller bindings and you place the abilities wherever you like, so it's more about knowing how to expand the usable power slots.
The game works really well with Xbox controller. I use to play on my PC with an Xbox controller. Now I play mouse and keyboard besides the point. The game has one of the best set up for controllers in my opinion . I was impressed.
I've heard a lot about the story, so I will be jumping in to play that! Hopefully it isn't too tedious to get there. Are casters any good for solo? They tend to be my favorite in MMOs
The base game story is AWFUL. Doesn't actually pick up till Heavensward(the first expansion). Casters aren't too bad for soloing but playing a Conjurer feels just awful especially when trying to do Fates involving bosses since you have little to no real damage early game. The housing system is a joke. Forget about getting any large house for things like a FC. Won't happen. They now use a "lottery" system every now and then to try give housing to players but it's a bigger joke than the current leader of a certain western country. Also depending what server you decide on, some are virtually "dead" and you'll find it difficult or outright impossible to get into groups for some content or if you're a"lucky" you'll be sitting in que for hours to maybe get a group to form.

One can say from another point of view that your whole “tirade” on the ARR MSQ is wrong. Does it suck? No. It’s actually a good basis for introduction to the world of Eorzia. Is it the best out of all the storylines? No. Heavensward is much stronger and Shadowbringers is brilliant. Personally I enjoyed Stormblood more than Heavensward but a lot of people disagree that SB was as good a story as HW. Now would I go ahead and tell someone that any of the ffxiv storylines in the game should just be played with blinders on because I think they sucked? No, because what I enjoy and my experience is mine, no one else’s. Everyone will have their own experience, they can express how they feel about that experience but to tell someone else it sucks cause you didn’t like it just makes you look like an ass. By all means explain why you didn’t like it, obviously without spoilers, but never tell someone it’s crap because you on a personal level disliked it.
As a totally new player having seen a few videos of the last expansion being unavailable to play due to server problems? Is there a fear that increasing the player count with Xbox players will be overload ?
Been playing all Xmas break so like 4 weeks straight. No server issues at all. What ever you watched lied to you. On xpac launch for a few weeks you get stupid long login ques but I believe they are updating the servers to handle higher populations. As of right now though you will not have any issues. Some servers are locked out to create on however due to high population but if you create on the Halicarnasis data centre then you should be fine. Newest servers there.
That was a unique issue because they had planned for server upgrades to coincide with the expansion, but COVID delays made the data center upgrade almost a year late. Add in the surge of interest because of all the streamers picking it up at the same time, and the game reached a breaking point. There simply wasn't enough room for everyone who wanted to play at launch. The data center upgrades have since been put in place and the game has tons of extra room. They have also now added server and data center travel. In a pinch, if your server is full, you can hop to another one. If your data center is full, you can hop to another one. And they're experimenting with a cloud data center that they can have for extreme overloads - so in an absolute emergency, when all discrete worlds are full, we can roll into the virtual cloud server as a temporary measure to at least play.
Yeah the server issues we had during Endwalker release was due to the whole COVID situation.. which caused them some setback . Servers have been stable and they are working on making them more stable for when Xbox players do come and for dawntrail because a lot of vwt players will return. I think we should be good ❤
I played FFXI back in the day on Ps2 lol. I loved the party levelling system. You needed a full party to grind mobs and level up. Is that still an option with this or is it just dungeons? I’ve heard this is more of a wow play style?
wish they would make a brand new server strictly for new level 1 players only just to experience it like it just came out without op characters around or economy already worked on
I started the trial on PC and Im like 3 months in just casually playing and i just finished ARR. kinda wish i didnt speed run through stuff but it really is a game with alot to do.
Even if you're a hard core raider you don't need alts. Literally the only gameplay advantage of alts is they have their own inventory space but that's not a requirement for raiding or anything.
I played the MSQ for a long time but stopped for a long time when I got to the end of an expansion. I think I am 2 expansions behind by now, so gear most likely needs to be upgraded by now.
Im hyped. Ive played the hell out of wow, wow classic, runescape and eso. Ive always wanted to play this but it was optimized so badly it was the only one i couldnt play on pc. I will give it a shot in the free trial but sadly after that im out, that double subscription is just too agressive for the user, 30€ monthly is not real, i understand the solo subscription for the game itself but that xbox drop on it is a turn off 🤷🏽♂️

yes i am, i have my 90 Plus char i had been playing on ps for several years, took a break been waiting for open beta to start. Xbox is my home platform, glad dont need a second console sub and console to play it anymore. On my friendlist most people play mmos or live service. Eso requires a sub if you want to do well in it. Ff subdsciption is well worth it, and no ptw nonsense. Best mmo. It starts you out slow basic but wyen you get to heavensward it picks up its awesome. So much to say.

I have over 1000 hours on Playstation and tried the Xbox Version and i will continue on PS, cause the Controller Layout. When im Walking and try to use the non abyx Buttons ITS much easier than on Xbox cause These Buttons are unser the analog stick

This Game is only on X Series. This pissed me off. Square enx puts FFxv on Xbox One. Same with Star wars fallin order. When X Series comes out. Then put the Star wars Survival only on X Series. And not Xbox one. 15 Came out before 14 on Xbox to only have 14th FFXIV on x Series. To then be told that the Game is subscription based game. Considering that MMORPGs have traditionally been PC games, this really isn’t surprising. Any Massive Multiplayer Online game “isn’t for the weak” so to speak, and console’s power levels just weren’t anywhere near caught up to what Steam players have. (From my understanding) The Series X is the first Xbox that bridges this gap; at least at an entry level point.
Breath of freash air from diablo 4 they should take some notes from this game on stuff to do in game. I use be on the realm of reborn back in day lil taru was maxed out. But yes it's worth it.

So tired of the monthly class nerfs that Black Desert Console gets... and just recently they've decided to make stat boosting crystals into a higher tier item and more difficult to get... and deleted all of the crystals players already had... no change at all, but they're calling it an upgrade by making players work to collect the items they had... again. I'm done with Black Desert Console.

Hard Mode dungeons in XIV are a higher level, a retooled zone, new monsters, new bosses, and a whole new storyline, but they're not actually any more difficult after the level adjustment is taken into consideration. For raids, there's Normal and Savage mode, and Savage is where it's the same fight with extra mechanics , a souls-like death count, and choreography that'll take hours to prog through. Savage is endgame and wholly optional.
Keep in mind most content has duty support or the trust system if playing with others is off putting. However, I will say FF has one of the better communities when it comes to doing content. Don't get me wrong FF has it sour apples and drama . We don't have a perfect community by no means 😊 but from my experience most are very patient with new players. Especially if you type in chat it is your 1st time.
It's quite customizable - you can shove things around on the screen until they're in a comfortable spot for you. Same with keybinds, they're almost fully adjustable. I use an Xbox controller on PC without any issues.
Kinda weird going after Asmongold at the end of the video, to the level of actually putting in the effort to make a montage... Talk about so called "drama", which is one of the reason i had to step away from the MMOcommunity... Just toxic AF, like a bunch of catty High School mean girls
If you like immersion this isnt for you, the UI is so messy, character animations are laughable and good luck catching up to players who've been playing the past decade
As much as I have a history with this game, you’re not wrong. That was my persistent thought playing it and while I’m glad it’s on Xbox I do wonder if something needs to change. (Like adding the game into gamepass)

So I'm used to being dropped in the middle of nowhere with terrible UI lol just not in 2024 on a console when things like ESO exsist...even phantasy star online 2 did the UI better. I'm sure the game is good in many ways but it wasn't the best first impression. Yeah gamepass would probably help but honestly 12.99 is alot per month for a game that barely works on console. Launching a couple new servers for Xbox players to play on so they could experience the game in a more authentic way would Have been great. Time locked progression servers are nice too.

Considering that MMORPGs have traditionally been PC games, this really isn’t surprising. Any Massive Multiplayer Online game “isn’t for the weak” so to speak, and console’s power levels just weren’t anywhere near caught up to what Steam players have. (From my understanding) The Series X is the first Xbox that bridges this gap; at least at an entry level point.

Breath of freash air from diablo 4 they should take some notes from this game on stuff to do in game. I use be on the realm of reborn back in day lil taru was maxed out. But yes it's worth it.

@@GingerPrimeGaming 10+ years. Damn. I didn’t discover FF14 until about 3 years ago when I built my PC and saw it on steam. I’ve been an Xbox FanBoi forever. So I was out of the loop on PC/PS games for a long time.

So tired of the monthly class nerfs that Black Desert Console gets... and just recently they've decided to make stat boosting crystals into a higher tier item and more difficult to get... and deleted all of the crystals players already had... no change at all, but they're calling it an upgrade by making players work to collect the items they had... again.

final fantasy 14 forces you to do hard mode dungeons to progress, is there a way to go around this?
Hard mode isn’t really “hard mode” that’s just them redoing a dungeon with a new pathway. You can do these single player with trusts
"Hard" mode dungeons are just a regurgitation of the normal version with extra steps/mechanics slapped on.

Hard Mode dungeons in XIV are a higher level, a retooled zone, new monsters, new bosses, and a whole new storyline, but they're not actually any more difficult after the level adjustment is taken into consideration. For raids, there's Normal and Savage mode, and Savage is where it's the same fight with extra mechanics , a souls-like death count, and choreography that'll take hours to prog through. Savage is endgame and wholly optional.
Keep in mind most content has duty support or the trust system if playing with others is off putting. However, I will say FF has one of the better communities when it comes to doing content. Don't get me wrong FF has it sour apples and drama . We don't have a perfect community by no means 😊 but from my experience most are very patient with new players. Especially if you type in chat it is your 1st time.

The UI looks a bit daunting but I will try when the Xbox Beta comes out.
It's quite customizable - you can shove things around on the screen until they're in a comfortable spot for you. Same with keybinds, they're almost fully adjustable. I use an Xbox controller on PC without any issues.

It's a horrible dated game and the pc port is terrible the UI is the worst I've ever seen on xbox for a mmo.
As much as I have a history with this game, you’re not wrong. That was my persistent thought playing it and while I’m glad it’s on Xbox I do wonder if something needs to change. (Like adding the game into gamepass)
@@GingerPrimeGaming Everquest was my first mmorpg. So I'm used to being dropped in the middle of nowhere with terrible UI lol just not in 2024 on a console when things like ESO exsist...even phantasy star online 2 did the UI better. I'm sure the game is good in many ways but it wasn't the best first impression. Yeah gamepass would probably help but honestly 12.99 is alot per month for a game that barely works on console. Launching a couple new servers for Xbox players to play on so they could experience the game in a more authentic way would Have been great. Time locked progression servers are nice too.
Game actually sucks the controlls are not optimized at all and the game looks like shit just go play Eso😂
