I remember when this blockbuster came out in theaters. It was in the top grossing film of 1993 beating Jurassic Park! Both Reeve and Keaton had stated they would never reprise their respective roles. However, the 15 million paychecks along with a percentage of the profits quickly changed their minds. Reeve was also concerned with his age but in the end, nobody cared about that. After the success of the film, they were asked to do another, but both declined choosing to go out on top.
Now thats good stuff. I remember years back when a couple of people did those "World's Finest" trailers. Downloaded those and kept them on each computer I've had. Makes me feel like a kid again because this was the dream crossover for me back in 1994 after watching the movie Speechless. To see Keaton and Reeve share a couple of scenes together was amazing. The two actually had good onscreen chemistry. Ever since, I had hoped there would be a Superman & Batman crossover film.

We could have actually gotten this movie in either 1991 or 1994. Christopher Reeve would have been still young enough to play Superman. Realistically however this film didn’t have a chance to be made. The failure of Superman IV killed and chance of Reeve returning to play Superman. He wanted no part of another Superman film after the embarrassing disaster that was Superman IV. It would have taken a lot of money to get him back, more than the studio would have been willing to offer. What is so sad is there was time after Batman ‘89. 5 years to make a Reeve/Keaton team up film before that faithful day in 1995 when any hope of Reeve returning to playing Superman was lost for good.
It really is one of the greatest injustices in art that we lost the chance to see together and to see more of Reeve's performances, and what happened to him is an injustice on the basic human level. I saw the "Super/Man" documentary they've made about him recently, and it truly was moving and inspiring, but man if I wish things were different.
I agree! Videos like these are just me doing my best to visualize what I wish was done by the great ones. It's fun to look at this stuff and go "man, this movie looks cool", even tho I know it's not a thing ahaha
Thank you for not using AI. I think the logos at the end could’ve had color. Was hard to see Reeve’s face in the shot of the two of them together. Nice work though.
Oh, it wouldn't have been fun to make it if I had used AI, so it's my pleasure! About the shot of the two together: it was challenging. I needed to use something with matching lights and to be completely honest, I didn't want to spend an immense amount of time on it, so I chose something darker and atmospheric, suggesting the idea of the Batcave (even tho the actual shot was from the final fight in the cathedral), combining it with the shot of Reeve outside of the boat in the '78 movie, in which he was mostly in the shadows, but you may guess how these two would be somewhat hard to put together, hence why I focused the attention on the Superman emblem, to give a more mythic quality. About the logos being white: for the various graphics, my idea was to go for a minimalistic space thing, while referencing the two versions. I didn't want to just go for the Donner or the Burton ones. So I put the space in the background and the blue hue around them to recall the Donner ones, and I made them white like the ones in "Batman Returns", closing most of them with the swarm of white 2D bats. So, when it came to the 2 logos, I just tried to stay consistent with what I established before. Also: thank you, I'm glad you've enjoyed it!
Oh man, I would love that! Funnily enough, James Gunn kinda teased that we could get a scene like the HISHE setting in the future. If it does happen, I bet the internet would blow up!

I wanted this and Supergirl since I was a kid.
That makes two of us! Ahaha
Oh hell yes!
This would have been awesome if it had been made
I agree!
Videos like these are just me doing my best to visualize what I wish was done by the great ones. It's fun to look at this stuff and go "man, this movie looks cool", even tho I know it's not a thing ahaha
This is what the true Superman and Batman fans would rather see rather than Batman v Superman
Blame wb Snyder never wanted to make Batman vs superman he wanted nen of steel 2 but yhey mace him make bstm6vs Superman
Man that would be so awesome if that was a movie that would be so awesome
What Richard Donner,Tom Mankiewicz,John Barry & Geoffrey Unsworth(had they both not have died RIP) could've done with this!
That would have been a pretty badass team for sure!
And of course WB was too dumb to think of this back then.😮😮😮
Sadly true!
This trailer is full of B.S. !
(B) atman and (S) uperman ! 😂
Very cool!
Thank you!
This would have been the biggest movie of all time in 1990.
I think so, too.
If done well, a movie with those guys could have been a proper masterpiece.
Awesome!! Where can I buy tickets!
In a parallel universe where I would love to live, but it's not the one we're in now, sadly!
And it ends with them getting coffee
Oh man, I would love that!
Funnily enough, James Gunn kinda teased that we could get a scene like the HISHE setting in the future. If it does happen, I bet the internet would blow up!
What about Lynda Carter or gal ganot as wonder woman?
Gal Gadot wasn't even a star in the 90s. Lol.
Oh, Lynda. There's no question.
She's the final piece of the OG DC trinity, if you ask me!
Bowie would have signed up for this at the drop of a hat :)
And would have been absolutely magnificent in the role!
Omg if we had this, this would break records!
I so wish I lived in that reality ahaha
That would’ve been an awesome movie 😍👌🏻
Unsurprisingly, I think so, too! Ahaha
better than the shitshow we got in 2016
It's certainly something I personally would have preferred ahaha
Batman v. Superman if it was good
This is... wow!!!
@@universeranger6884 thank you! Ahah
I'm glad you liked it!
Looks so cool!!!
