Come thrifting with me in NYC! In this video, I give you a tour of my favorite thrift stores in Manhattan and Brooklyn, try on all the thrifted dresses, jackets, sweaters, jeans, and t-shirts I’ve accumulated over the past couple months, and demonstrate my hidden talent of stuffing a truly obscene amount of fabric into my pants. Also thank you for your patience with my upload schedule during the past month! I tried to film this thrift haul a couple weeks ago on election day and the vibes were just ~weird~ because I was so nervous, so I decided to scrap the entire thing, and then there’s been a ton of construction in my building so it’s been infuriatingly hard to find a time quiet enough to film. Anyhow an entire month later, here she is!

What she never seems to mention is that they probably used the word a lot in her film program at UCLA. I know when I was in film school we used it a lot. Sergei Eisenstein argued against the idea that film expresses meaning through the shot, suggesting instead that it was all about the cut: that meaning is derived from the JUXTAPOSITION of one shot against another. It's a Hegelian dialectic thing :)

From where I used to live, you can get a decent find ranging from 0.27$ to 5$. It's that cheap, not to mention sort of good quality too.

@@LEYAH that’s true and that’s what I usually try to do! :) But where I live I have to wear wool clothing under everything which means I have to wear a thin wool sweater, then a regular sweater (preferably a knitted one or a hoodie with thick fabric) and a super warm coat. Whenever I try to wear tops like the ones in this video I have to wear so many layers of clothing to stay warm (both inside and outside) and I end up feeling kind of suffocated - so I just give up lol😅 but in early fall/spring I can use your tip :)

@@Emma_smith it varies a lot, but anything from 5 degrees Celsius to -10 degrees Celsius. In the winter it rains (or snows) pretty much constantly and it’s always windy so people joke that it feels like -15 or -20 lol but that’s a bit of an exaggeration lol

Ashley is the only youtuber whose thrift hauls I can watch. She does such an amazing job of describing and displaying the pieces and the effort is unmatched. Like yeah anyone can post a thrift haul but she’s the only one who does it right

@@FreakySei it was just spiteful hateful people hating on ash for no reason or they had very poor reasons to do so. I feel like some people wanted to be "the mean girls and boys" like in high school it was absolutely redundant and not needed. We are all human and I like her personality however it dies make me question. Why tf you following if you "hate" her some people are sick with jealousy I actually appreciate the openness in this channel.
