    Yes Xavier it was riser twist... Pilot is experienced and a lot of factors played a roll in getting twisted up. He was flying a Fresh Breeze Monster this day. He has this motor for his trike which 90 percent of his flying is done via trike.. This was his second flight of the day. Short take off distance with the sun in the eyes plus power lines equals pilot error. The pilot was extremely lucky to survive coming down hard on asphalt. His leg hit first with the cage crushing his leg causing a severe compound broken leg. His helmet showed as well a hard impact. We are hoping to get him back flying in our group next month after a long rehabilitation with his broken leg.

      Not sure if it would have made any difference but if he ever tries to foot launch the Monster again, make sure he does a hang test first and hooks the motor in far enough up on the soft j system to reduce the rear lean of the setup thus reducing the twist. I fly the 4th hole up and it made a big difference on the twist. My best wishes on his recovery.

    Was his hang point set too far forward? it looked like he was pointed almost strait up and then the motor torque caused the riser twist?

    I'm no genius, but is there a reason the launch site is next to a busy highway, a huge baseball backstop, and power lines??? I get you need to go "left", but what if you go to the "right"...oh, that's what happens?!?

    Dells right, bad riser twist. You'll see this a lot on flat tops too, very much death traps. The worst accidents occur to folks with that equipment.

      That lie doesn't work on intelligent people. Fixed wide hang points like on the Flat Top are way more stable than narrow soft floppy hang points. These total liars don't care how absurd their lies are though. They will just ignore such obvious reality and jump to their next lies and their next and next. I counted 19 more DEATHS just last year alone. All from the same things over and over and over I've been warning people about for years. How horrifying to have been one to bash, trash and lie about me only to face God come judgement day having done all manner of evil. That's it for them. They are totally hosed for all eternity. The liars can mock and trash talk for a day but then soon the end comes and judgement will be swift and just. It doesn't matter how many times these liars like clif try to deny God and fight against truth. They WILL face God when they die.

    • @bleeder228
      @bleeder228 9 років тому +7

      Dell Schanze I you were actually a master pilot as you claim to be, you would know that a proper hang test on those "soft floppy hang points" is all that needs to be done to eliminate the riser twist issue. Those soft-J hang points are also mandated by the German government as a safety feature to be able to jettison the unit in flight in case of a fire. They also serve as a quick release for a water landing, something that you claim that only your unit has.
      Quite honestly, I really wish you were a better and more honest person, Dell. It would be really nice if you could be a positive part of this community instead of a divider and trouble maker. Fact is, trouble and division is all that you bring all while bringing the name of God into the conversation as if you have some sort of control or understanding of God.

      Lawn Chair Aviator More typical absurdity from those that really don't care about the truth. For anyone who really is interested in the truth just LOOK at what these people say as it really shows just how messed the people are who push the outdated gear. It's obvious logic that if you have a soft connection it's not going to be as stable as a fixed point where the hook in points cannot come together. The Flat Top is the most stable unit on the market because it has the widest solid fixed hang points in the industry. If you can easily touch your carabineers together on the ground then that exact same thing can quite easily happen in the air. Also a jettison unit is NOT a quick release harness. There have been many many crashes because the release unit on the Fresh Breeze release when it wasn't supposed to release and released on just one side. THAT is a complete nightmare. The Flat Top has a single connection quick release and it's a bucket seat so even if you intentionally released it while in flight you would not fall out of the unit. If you have an accidental release of one side on the floppy system you are in a world of hurt. You can't do that on a Flat Top and there have been ZERO injuries in this way on a Flat Top and ZERO deaths on a Flat Top ever in it's history. 19 DEAD just last year alone on the outdated gear but ZERO on the Flat Top. For those interested in truth you can see just how sick and messed up many of these people are and keep in mind many of these people that do everything they can to lie about the truth are out there pretending to be "Instructors" when in fact they don't have even the most basic skills themselves. For those interested in the sport don't even think about getting into paramotoring if you don't get a Flat Top, Dominator and SUPER training. It is absolutely insane for 19 people to DIE just last year alone when the odds are almost zero that any of them would have even been injured had they just been flying proper gear. LOOK at each incident and then think about the safety features on the Flat Top and how it would relate to the issue. It's really just common sense.

      Lawn Chair Aviator Nope that STILL doesn't address crumple zones saving people's lives by protecting their spines or saving people from drowning by having a quick release harness or protection from the prop keeping the brake toggles from wrapping up and causing death... never ONCE have you children of hell had any interest in the truth at all. You absolute are NOT Christian but are the complete opposite of it. Your lies in pretending to be Christian don't work on those who actually are. Anyone with some simple logic can look at the pure evil coming from the wicked all through the above posts. Never even one single time have any of you actually addressed the truth and actually had any interest at all in doing what's right for other people. I've posted over and over the very specific details that make a life & death difference. Any rational decent honest person would address the specifics with interest in truth. It's a commandment that I share my knowledge of pitfalls that lay before my neighbor. Only children of hell work to deceive people in every way to ensure others do indeed fall into those obvious pitfalls.

    • @superdellschanze9616
      @superdellschanze9616 9 років тому

      Lawn Chair Aviator Actually I do as it's right in the scriptures that we are all commanded to judge good from evil. That which you are doing is clearly evil. Yet again you ignored all the truth of the specifics of paramotor safety from one of the most experienced pilots in the world and just went on and on bashing, trashing and lying and calling names. That is purely evil. It comes from the devil and definitely NOT from those who follow Jesus Christ. Those who follow Christ are very very easy to spot. They are the one's that stand up for the truth and try to help other people and who obey the commandments and really actually do what Jesus Christ asked them to do. Never once did Jesus say to go around bashing, trashing, lying and calling names when someone tries to help others with true information about paramotor safety based on vast vast experience and piles of evidence, logic and rational thought. One who would go around bashing, trashing, lying and trying to deceive people in ways that could ultimately get them killed are called murderers or children of hell. It's very very simple. God is not one of confusion. There are those trying to help others sincerely with true and real life saving information and there are the purely evil children of hell who go on and on and on doing everything they can to deceive people away from the truth. Even a half wit can see who is doing what from the above posts.

    So what caused the riser twist, and what should he have done to get back on the ground safely?

    • @dengeondengeon
      @dengeondengeon 6 років тому +3

      Engine torque. His harness is set up wrong and his thrust is pointed way too downwards. Thus the torque makes him twist instead of pull more on one side of the glider (as typical). That's why he swings so much to one side and that's why more gas makes it worse... he should have just killed the engine and glided back down. No biggie, just needs to adjust his harness. The main fault was him trying to "roll" with it, get it? :D Anyway plenty videos on ytb explaining how the torque twist happens.

    How can it happen

    • @user-cw7jd7uu1m
      @user-cw7jd7uu1m 7 років тому +1

      Paramotors are adjustable for different weights. This person's paramotor wasn't adjusted properly because he normally flies a trike instead of foot launching. That's point one.
      When a properly spins it wants to tilt you to the side. This is normally a minor issue because the paramotor is designed to tilt the other way or the pilot does it himself. That's point two.
      Now combine them. Because it was adjusted incorrectly rather than the prop being nearly vertical and titling to the side it was more horizontal and spinning him on his back like a breakdancer. He twisted his risers like a kid on a swingset might twist himself in the chains. The situation became uncontrollable and he crashed.
      I'm glad he wasn't more seriously hurt.

    • @dengeondengeon

    SUPER training is the ONLY way to go. It's just insane seeing issues like that which just didn't need to happen if he would have just had proper gear and training. The guy had absolutely ZERO skill as you can see from him doing absolutely nothing as a pilot while the unit torques him all over the place. Plus it's obvious he never got any training because no real pilot would EVER EVER EVER fly Fresh Breeze or Dudek like that which is a complete nightmare. Floppy sloppy hang points and harness systems from the 1970 are just ridiculous. You have absolutely no clue at all and don't have the skill or understanding in the sport to be arguing with experts. The issue is very clear in this video. The guy doesn't have even the most basic skills down as you can see from him not piloting properly at all and he is on some of the worst gear in the sport. There is a huge difference between horribly bad training and gear and trying to chuck someone into the sky who doesn't have the basic skills down yet and what would be a real accident where there is not much anyone could do. While the best gear and training in the world can't prevent every death the fact is ZERO people have ever died on a Flat Top with SUPER training. Even if someone does at some point it doesn't negate in any way the huge gigantic safety difference. The #1 thing that get's people dead in this sport is listening to morons who can't fly for crap over the advice of the best in the world.

Despite the fact that I wasn't the instructor towing the guy who died or the one who passed him off as a certified pilot it really doesn't matter to those filled with evil. Neither does it have anything at all to do with my skill level or the skills of those I train or the fact that those who train with me can do things most others out there pretending to be instructors can't do. Still the evil competitors out there use these fake account to tell the same old lies one after another on and on until they eventually die and face God. 19 died last year because they didn't get SUPER training and were not on quality gear. 5 drowned. The Flat Top is the only unit that has a quick release harness. The rest died from impact from a combination of bogus training, horribly unsafe wings and no crumple zone to absorb impact. Skills are skills. For those interested in the best odds of staying alive it makes obvious sense to listen to the most experienced and skilled instead of total morons who can't fly for crap who just make up every lie they can suggesting that is reason to train with idiots instead of experts.

People's very lives are at stake and it's just sick that there are those that have so little moral character that they just don't care one bit who gets seriously injured & killed. 19 DEAD just last year and NONE of them would have died if they would have just had proper gear. I don't expect total idiots to listen to the advice of experts but it is my moral obligation to share it as people will die if they don't follow my advice. It's that simple.

      SUPERDELL Schanze From a person that was trained last year in paragliding and this year in motoring let me give you my two cents. I attended one of the best schools out there imho, out of Utah. First, I am very excited to be apart of this community. Over the last year I researched different motors in anticipation of buying one after training. The Flat Top was one I was looking at. I crossed it off my list for one great factor. The unsupported claims from you Mr Schanze. It seems that motor is a good motor but you are as trustworthy at Hillary Clinton and her GOV/Private email. Watching the video; I would not want to armchair quarterback, and since nether of us were there we do not know the pilots abilities or training. Your advise might be welcomed if you were not so matter of fact about things and always seeming to hawk your gear as the safest in the world. Yours seems to be as safe as others. I have seen a few links and videos of Flat Top crashes. Even in the comment above you try to link your gear as better then theirs. That my internet spammer, is an opinion. Trashing other people is just a deflection so people don't look at your own faults. Being new I myself welcome all advise, but it is a shame when your advise is putting others down instead of looking out for fellow pilots. I hope to watch a video of your one day where it is truly good advise on safety instead of putting other people or motors down or just touting your success.
