First Time Reacting To Ren "Diazepam" | I Get Personal In This Video - REACTION
In this video, we react to the great songwriter Ren as he plays "Diazepam". This is my first time seeing this video and I am blown away by this song and what it is about. I get a little personal since this song talks about a Benzo Diazepam and I use to be addicted to these pills and others. I talk about my struggle as I listen to Ren masterfully depict how it is when you take these pills. They help to a point and then they start suffocating you. In this song, Diazepam The lyric that hits me is Went for a swim and then drowned in your ocean because it is so true. Sorry If is not like my other reaction videos but sometimes we have to be real and open up and show another side to ourselves to let others in more. Thanks for sharing and I know the feeling. Just know there is a way out and keep trying to find it. I had to disconnect ad go to rehab or 2 months and get my head straight and really take a look at my life and what I was doing and sometimes we just need to make that jump not know what the outcome will be be atleast we can say we tried. Thanks for opening up about your experiences and reacting to this great song! I'm glad you're looking into some of Ren's older music, there's a lot of gold there. I never struggled with benzos thankfully but I have been on several SSRIs and struggled with weed addiction and I identify with this song with how some of those made me feel. The line "You promised me the world but now I'm rotting and molding" especially hits home with me, I started smoking to alleviate panic attacks during a hard time in my life and ended up overindulging, I blinked and 5 years went by where I basically never came down. Its definitely this feeling of wasting your life, just existing, the core of what makes you yourself just rotting and molding over.

Mine started almost the same since I deal with panic attacks to and Benzo helped until they didnt any more and then the meds turned me into someone I didnt know anymore so I can relate to the blink and it is 5 years later that you stated. I'm happy to say I'm coming out of the other side of it, the last 2 years have been me yo-yoing between being sober and relapsing, but I've really dug in to understand what's driving my addiction and finally am discovering answers. Ren's music has been huge for me in that pursuit over the last month or so. I can personally relate to a lot of his lyrics and it's been so cathartic.

Diazepam is such a dangerous thing because it works so well at the beginning. I was lucky enough to realise with first time taking that this could get me addicted, but my twenty years of smoking were a similar principle. I find this song so powerful because it doesn't deny that first sensation. You need to address that to understand why it is so easy to get hooked. In cigarettes, people tried to tell you in the 00s that people only smoke because of peer pressure and don't enjoy it. That is rubbish. I love smoking to this day, and I still remember what my last cigarette felt like in 2004. That is how I know how quickly I would be addicted again. That is why I won't touch them. Ren gives us that full picture here. And that, to me, makes the losing yourself in it so much more convincing.
My I also say: Respect for you on your journey. Reconstructing a life is hard work, and examples like you give here can show a path. Ren said in the bittersweet symphony premiere that he is currently quitting smoking, so we could wish him luck and success for that journey.

Thanks for watching and thanks for your feedback. I really put myself out there on this one but I felt like I needed to to help those that might be stuck and think there is no way out. I am glad I get to share my story because for a while there I didn't know if I would make it to the next day the way things were going for me. I made it out and I am so grateful to the friends and family that stuck by. I am also glad people are sharing their stories and I hope some truly seek help knowing that there is a way out

Don't take criticism to heart and ignore it... never will everyone like you... the best is a 50/50 ratio of people, who like you and who don't like you! Take care and keep it up.
Truth hurts laugh when in pain. Laughter is the only medicine that works. Trust me I'm not a doctor ❤️ 2020 I was deemed essential and I started drinking a bottle of vodka a day. Father's day 2022 I told my parents that I had a problem, and have been still slowly going down on the drinking. The shaking was the scariest part. Slowly getting better.

I been there to with the drinking and the pills and I know the feeling man but you did the right think on telling you parents that is the start and at least you know you need to get better. I was on 6 different meds at the same time....instant zombie mode...was on them for 6 months before I quit cold turkey, haven’t pulled the trigger yet...but there’s always tomorrow...but hopefully not

My comments were based on My addiction because of medication I took. I know it is based on depression but It can start there and then get you stuck and then turn into addiction
