I hit hard times twice with Harleys and had to sell. This spring im buying my 3rd and it will be my forever bike! Took me 10 years and alot of hard work but im back and never letting this one go.
Man that brings back some memories! That was my very first HD. 1990 FXRS. I put 63,000 miles on it in 4 years living in upstate NY. That looks like the FXR-Sport, would have come with dual disc front brakes factory. There where like 5 or 6 FXR’s to chose from in 1990. Regret selling it to this day. Had an FXR2 with the 21 inch front wheel it didn’t handle as good as the 19 inch front wheel

Today’s Road Glide is basically the same exact triangulated frame, it’s just larger, which is why the Road Glide is now one of the very best handling Harley Models out there now! 😎 That’s why they are so popular and why most Harley Stunt Riders choose to wheelie them and do burn outs and stunts on them now because it makes Evel Kneivel very proud! 👍

There are a lot of die-hard FXR fans that are pissed as hell that all of the dyna bikes are now soft tail suspended. Ken what are your feelings regarding the evolution of the dyna chassis to join the ranks of the softies? I personally think it makes older FXR bikes worth whatever a guy is asking because it is a helova lot harder to raise the ground clearance of a soft tail than it is a dual suspended sporty or dyna for those guys that stunt the snot out of a bike. Just curious what a fellow Oldham feels about it.
I was initially appalled of the decision and the square headlight but they are getting better and the lowrider S is the best looking one because it looks like a dyna s. Sacrilege. Just when the younger crowd was embracing the dyna the kill it , turn it into a SOFTAIL, and fire Eric buell. Then sales plumet from 360,000 units a year to 60,000? Stock values plus 80%? Then for an encore sell electric bikes and build the v twins and source parts overseas Wtf? Thailand?? Wtf. I love harleys and am saddened the direction the company chose.
@@KaplanCycles i think they should have maintained the dyna line as was and only messed with the sporty. Fantastic bike! Loved seeing you do wheelies with that bad boy! Anyway, I am the original owner of a fully original 87 FXLRC, 80 cube EVO, with 17,000 + miles. I love the bike and most of the time it runs great. However, it has an electrical problem that the HD dealership couldn't diagnose because they couldn't replicate the problem. It will occasionally sputter, cut out, run on one cylinder (seems like), or just dies. After stopping and turning everything off, I can turn it over and it will start and run fine. Sometimes it takes this procedure several tries but usually works, if the battery holds out. Any suggestions on what I should look for to solve this problem. It is hard for me to believe that HD doesn't have an idea on what to do! They acted like they didn't want to work on it because it was "too old." I know they want to sell new bikes but let's keep these old vintage models running! I don't want to give it up, and like you, my bike will go to my son when I am gone. For now, I am 66 and riding strong!
