I was going to post this. 9/10 people will try to kill the spotted destroyer in that kind of situation and most people in randoms get too much of the old red mist to realize it's probably bait, and turn right into the conveniently pre-launched wall of torps.
This was definitely the tactic. Although running into the island was almost definitely a mistake. Torp bait is a legit strategy. Use it in IJN DD’s all the time and learnt it from Flamu
might be giving too much credit but agreed. especially if you assume the carnot knew he had to kill to try and save the win, he would want all guns working on the benham.

I've always wished you well, but lately, I think you deserve it more. 14:20 was my favorite moment, and I think it was for others as well. We all know that you're hurting. Actually Jingles ;) opening up on the Carnot was a good calculated risk. Its guns were pointing in the other direction and Matakawa's intent was probably to make him change course into the torps, which he did. GG WP.

That's what I thought and I don't even play this game, if the Carnot was still sailing away it would've been relatively easy for him to dodge the torpedoes once he spotted them, the way he turned made it impossible to do so. Jingles! You were JUST saying it's difficult to hit a fleeing target with torpedoes!
Didn't help that the second set of torps took out his rudder. He burned the damage con on two floods from the first set, then ate one in the ass and couldnt turn anymore

I've been reading this fun little fantasy adventure series recently. "Destroyermen," the fun collection of novels about the USS Walker, an old four-stacker destroyer, getting magically teleported to an alternate reality where the angry raptor dinosaur people are at war with the boat lemurs. In the book, the Walker manages to turn the tide of this war, because every other combatant is armed with sticks, stones and sailboats. The boat lemurs live on massive floating cities because the dinosaurs took over all the land. These "homes" are mostly peaceful, but they have some self-defense weapons just in case. The largest ordinance they have at the beginning of the series are large torsion ballistas. They fire giant wooden stakes with a rate of fire of three rounds per minute at most, and lower muzzle velocity than a smoothbore musket. Aside from that, their armaments consist of infantry with spears and swords, and maybe some throwing javelins. What are you willing to bet that they could beat the Yugumo in a gunfight?

Sadly Benham was ship you get from event where you needed to play the game for 1 month almost every day, few years ago and you can't get it since then^^ Unless you whale 1-2 thousand $ for santa crates where you need to get all other premium ships before you can get one from ultra rare list. WG for ya
It was a reward ship for some event a few years ago if i recall. Well one of 2 ships you got from that event. I think you can still get it for free not sure, im am sure however its sitting in the premium shop of course.

As for the video what a great battle, it reminded me of Flamu's world record game where he got over 350k damage in his Benham, but he only sunk 3 ships surprisingly when i went to look for it. So As a performance I enjoyed this battle much more! thank you for sharing it with us and well played Matakawa!....... (wish I had a Benham, mutter mutter, grrr)

Good Morning from the south eastern part of Kansas. Up early on what is for me Saturday to get a batch of veggie stew started in the slow cooker. Since it's cold out. Watching a new Jingles video. Filled with your laughter, Akitsuki's comment and that bit of battle chatt at the end. Really had me going. I'm glad your doing better. Like many have said we know you miss Boo. You have plenty of videos and pictures of him. You and the community will never forget him. Cherish his memory and just love the little meowing furballs that you have.

(The talk was about world of warships) I couldn't imagine, you would stop uploading videos of world of warships replays ever again, though the WG part has screwed up big time, that doesn't make replays any different than what they are. 13:49 Regarding the nooooob: Soyuz used her DCP after first flooding. With a further torp hit her rudder gets knocked out. Loosing all steering it is inevitable that she will just run into the island. Maybe the only noob aspect here is to use DCP after first set of torps and not immediately going hard to stbd, but then red team already made desperation moves due to the point pressure.
Sorry for your loss Jingles. Truly one of the hardest things anyone ever has to do. I know your pain all too well as I had to put my loyal and wonderful four legged companion down this past January. Enjoy the memories and glad you took some time off.

Jingles, After the first 2 torp hits caused a flood; the Soyuz burned his DC. The THIRD torp knocked out his steering gears in a blink-and-miss moment. He didn't run aground because he was an idiot; He ran aground because he couldn't turn!!!!
As someone who once had three cats, I know what it is like to lose your beloved pets. I hope you are doing well Jingles, if you need to take more time off, don't feel bad if you decide to do so.

I think he shot the carnot to make him turn into the torps. He also had a smoke left to disengage.

Also the Carnot was shooting at the friendly CV, so he was trying to get Carnot to shoot in him instead of the CV
