Wow that was wonderful. How do I make a single level list style which restats automatically. I have made a custom style named "Mylist" and using it to apply to my lists. Later in the chapter when I am applying the style again, it continues the numbering. I want it to start with 1. I am new to word and work mostly on InDesign. Thanks
Deborah - You articulate your thoughts so well. Your teaching style is excellent. This topic can never be taught enough. Ha! It’s something everyone uses on a daily basis.
This course certainly enhanced my skills in formatting numbers lists and styles. Many features and suggestions I'd not previously considered or understood
I am trying to define a new multi-level list to mimic another one that I have. The trouble is that the level has a decimal place that advances both positions (the whole number and the fraction) dependent on the section the list is in. The number formatting choices do not include a choice with a decimal. I can see that other tables in Word also use decimals.
OMG. This is exactly what I've been looking for! I spend so much time renumbering paragraphs. I'm definitely enrolling in your course!

Wow, thank you! Coming from you, that is high praise. Thanks for stopping by!
Very helpful

That's great! I'm glad to hear that course helped.
Thank you. Best explanation I've found!!!
Glad that helped!
Deborah, I want to take your $7 course on this, but I can't get to the right location from inside "Automatic paragraph numbering"
Great video, now my lists are working correctly but they don't rest after a heading. Is there a trick to that?
You don't have "Restart list after" turned on. Review the section starting at 17:30.

You will probably want to use space instead of tab for the "follow number with" character (see 4:35).
