    About this Episode:
In 2020, we made our way to the Black Hills of South Dakota. We met new friends Jouppi Outdoors and they told us about Custer State Park Camping. Custer State Park campgrounds can be very hard to get into depending on time of year you plan to visit. We came through this year in late spring and got lucky that a spot opened up in Game Lodge campground for a few nights. Custer State Park South Dakota camping is a bucket list place to camp if you like more dry camping. They do have electrical, but you will need to fill up your water on the way in. If you are staying for longer, you may want to consider a water bladder (see below). We use ours all the time and this was no exception.
There seems to be a lot of things to do at Custer State Park. We had limited time, so we chose the Custer State Park Wildlife loop. This drive can take some time (depending on speed), so we recommend brining some snacks. We did find a few bathrooms along the way.
During our time in South Dakota, we also had the opportunity to hang out with our friends from JonesN2Travel. We enjoyed our time with them and had more footage of us hanging out around Deadwood, South Dakota, but we lost it due to a bad SD card. 😬 We can't wait to hang out with them again in the future.
💦 Water Bladders - We went with the 50 Gallon water bladder. We have a 60 Gallon tank so it works well for us. We can put it in the bed of the truck and not have to move as much stuff around. This helps us Dry Camp or Boondock a lot longer.
    💧10 Gallon Water Bladder- amzn.to/3AaPFru
    💧25 Gallon Water Bladder - amzn.to/3x75HjY
    💧50 Gallon Water Bladder- amzn.to/2Th64db
We have a Nautilus system in our RV that allows us to pump water from the water bladder into our fresh water tank using the RV's pump. If you do not have something like that, I would recommend something like this. amzn.to/3dq1d0i . We have never tried it, but would imagine that a regular RV Pump would do the job to transfer water. Plus, it can act as a spare for your RV 😉.

@@RoadVenturesUSA The building is coming along but almost every step takes longer than we think. Then, every once in a while we get surprised by how simple something is to complete. We've found that planning each step out helps. We'll let you know when we get out on the road.

Great video. South Dakota is on my list. I see quite a few 5th wheels and travel trailers having issues with one or the axles off kilter. Thanks Don

Thanks Don. South Dakota is a beautiful state and there is so much to do. Yeah, we are very weight conscious too so we really don't know what the issue was. We will show in the next couple videos how we get it all fixed up. Thanks for watching. 🤗

Beautiful scenery and the video does a great job of taking the viewer there.
We’re a bit jealous because you went at a better time of year than we did. So glad you shared your experience so we can see what we missed! -Chris & Suzannah

Hey Chris and Suzannah, thank you. We loved it there so much. We can't wait to go back and spend two weeks at Custer. We were grateful for the few days we grabbed, and the weather was great too. Hopefully you guys can go back in the late spring/early summer and enjoy it too. Thanks for watching, friends. Appreciate you. 💕

What is it with people trying to get as close as they can to nature? 😳 I experienced the same thing in Yellowstone National Park a few years ago. 🤔 Love your video; made me feel like I was right there with you! Thank you for sharing! 🙂🙃

Right? There was a couple that came up and asked if I would take a picture of them in front of the Bison. I asked them how close they wanted to get to it they said, "as close as we can but far enough away not to make their grown kids upset.". LoL . They got way too close. People really need to respect wild animals. Thanks for watching. We always appreciate you. 🤗
