Love looking at these old yards. I remember riding with my dad in his 38 olds to Republic Steel and Iron in Cicero , ill. to junk the olds. Right next door was Al's Auto Graveyard. Mom was following behind in our "new" car, a used 51 Pontiac. That was 1955 or 56. There was a whole bunch of old motorcycles lined up, ready to be scrapped. My older brother was getting on them. Them were the days. Wish I still had that 38 Olds.
I love that 1976 Ford Elite that had slide down the hill near the begining of the video. It really looked together and in decent condition from where you were standing. I love those 1970's luxury coupes.
Thanks, I love going through old junk yards like this. I remember going with my Dad 50 years ago & he would point out his high school buddys' old car or Uncle Ted's car, etc....
Man u 2 r in a forest of giants man u totally would get lost in there like a little kid that kid I was impressed by his knowledge one lucky kid thank u u two Richard and Christina for another adventure on the hill of dreams
The owner had to have been a Ford nut! Enjoyed the tour……I have done these many times. I remember in the early 80’s you could buy a perfect rust free 57 fender for $20……. Happy Birthday Christina…….WOW! What she wanted for her birthday….. Something 99% of us men only dream of. Richard, you certainly are a blessed man. Oh yeah, love Christina’s humor………picked up on a couple things……LOL 😂
Thank you for the tour of this junkyard. I'm a miniaturist; in the process of making a junkyard diorama, and your video gave me so many ideas to work from.
Glad you liked it! I'd love to see a picture of your diorama. In the past I have built a couple of 1/24 scale models into abandoned vehicles, one of which I still have 30 years later. if you have a pic and would share it, my email is rdb6x@yahoo.com
We wanted to thank you. We watched your video of the Dickson, Tennessee junk Yard and saw 2 1951 Plymouths. "Where's the dipstick?" Most of them are in Washington, DC. Richard, at 48:16, that is a '55. On the '56 the grill ran over the top of the parking lights. I had a '56 'way back when.

Greetings from Scotland,Richard & Christina. Happy birthday Christina. What a great junk yard. Plenty opportunities for Richard to add to his collection of Americana…..😂. Some nice Old Ford’s and Chevrolets to be considered. You guys are so lucky with the lack of rust on these old vehicles. Over here in Scotland rust is the only thing left ! Thanks for another excellent video. It’s always nice to have an opportunity to look at potential rescues. All the best John
Thanks Terry! We appreciate the support you show our channel! Richard had heart surgery a few days ago, so a bit behind in answering comments. He's doing well so no worries!
@@christinarust6957 Christina I had by-pass myself when a young man. I’m sure it’s came a long way since then. Just had my hip replaced and prior to that my knee same side. And I’m doing well myself. Love you guys. And all you put out! ❤️👍👊 my prayers to you 🙏🏻
You are a lucky man Richard you have a great Classy lady in your life that you can take to a fancy restaurant one time and next she will Romp around with you in a junkyard so Awesome 👍
Richard & Christina, didn't realize this classic bone yard was this close to home. Great video. Definitely on my bucket list to go visit. I just purchased a 1940 Chevy Master Deluxe 2dr Sedan. CA car will little rust. Sorry to hear about your heart surgery. Hope you have a speedy recovery, so you can do some more wrenching. Take care & keep up the good work on the videos! Rob
This is a great old Junk Yard. My first car I purchased was an 1953. Bel Air. That old Rancheo is cool. If you find a Ford 1969 Torino Cobra. That’s a rare car. And yes a ton of old Ford Truck parts. Also saw a 66 Cadillac. Just at tons of old Iron. Think you guys found a honey hole.Been waiting to see a critter jump out. Thank you Richard and Christina. For the tour. 💯👍Also Happy Birthday Christina🎂
I did not know they made a Torino Cobra. I had the 1969 Cobra with the 428 Cobra-jet, but it was the Fairlane body. I just Googled your car and mine was definitely different.
Happy birthday, Christina! 😎🎈🎁🎂 Ive been wanting to go back to a junkyard myself. There's all kinds of treasures there as we know of course. Thanks for sharing, Richard and Christina! Lots of amazing cars there!
Great tour and Happy Birthday Christina!!! When I lived in The Bronx, N.Y. in the 60's and early seventies, my Dad and I would go to all of the junkyards to look for parts for my '53 and '58 Chevys! The guys at Budget Builds recently dragged a early 60's Ford F 100 unibody out of the woods in North Carolina and got it running. And the Ford Econoline with the custom paint job near the end of your video was a factory Cruising Van that Ford produced in the mid 70's. They actually did the same thing to the Pinto wagon. I remember seeing the ads in car magazines back then.
That info abut the van is very useful. I have been trying to figure out whether that paint was factory, and it seems that it is. The owner's son kept telling me that van was in a movie, but I did not find any record of it. Nonetheless, those cruising vans appear to be quite rare. Thanks for the tips!
The Ford Victoria was not a '56, it is a '55. The 1955 Ford Victoria had the round turn signal lights, the 1956 had the turn signal light trim more elongated and wrapped around the side of the fender. Body style between the two were pretty much identical.
That 68 @ 51:20 I knew it was not a 70 because I owned a 1970 Galaxy 500. Even though the 70 body lines taper to a fastback, the rear glass is more vertical, almost like the modern Avalanche rear glass does. The 6 most fun cars I ever owned were 1970 Galaxy 500, 1969 Fairlane, 1968 Torino & a 1963 Falcon Futura convertible. 3 of these were fastbacks but the Galaxy back glass was like that of a non fastback with a shorter package tray. 1969 Fairlane had a 289, 1970 Galaxy had a 302, 1968Torino had a 390 & 1963 Falcon had a straight 6. The 2nd to last car was a 1969 Cobra limited edition (not the Mustang, the Fairlane experimental) with a 428 Cobra-Jet. My fastest car was a 1980 Mustang which I built to the max the 2.3L 4 cylinder to over 300HP. This had a modified progressive 2 barrel Holly, ported & polished Offenhauser intake, header, balanced & blueprinted, bored .030" over, aluminum pistons & cast rings, Ported oil galley ways, high volume oil pump, performance cam peak HP from 2600RPM to 5200RPM, 4 speed manual & positive traction 9" differential. My Mustang could not be driven in city streets, it was strictly a highway or drag car.
Great vid and amazing cars! The only thing I was missing was that I wanted to see the interior dash on these and you only showed the outside for the most part. Like those Ford Torino fastbacks...we were dying to see the inside. Thanks. ✌🏻
There used to be a huge junkyard like this here. Full of everything from the 30s to the 80s. But the owner passed away years ago and all the cars are gone. Sad.

There used to be a huge junkyard like this here. Full of everything from the 30s to the 80s. But the owner passed away years ago and all the cars are gone. Sad.
That is sad. To me it's like walking through a museum! I love them!Hope you guys are doing well!
@@christinarust6957 would love to find a junkyard like this one. We did get to tour a hotrod shop in our latest video. Chance was mad that he couldn't go
Need more women like Christina who like Junkyards so Cool 👍
Thanks Robert ❤️
Thank you for talking us along. I wish you had shown more of the 60's Mustangs. I have a 61 ford uni-body that my Dad owned And a 66 Mustang . Has always liked and shared. All my very best.
They weren't for sale so we were asked not to show them:-)
@@christinarust6957 Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me. It means a lot to me. All my very best.
That Unibody Ford had a inline six.
Hood emblem with the lightening bolt is for six. V with 8 in middle of letter V for v,-8 engines
Where is that guy's place at? I saw a couple of cars I would like to get from him!
Wifey needs her own channel.
