This is a video featuring the Allied Army fightning against the German Army during the Battle of Hurtgen Forest on Hill 493, simulated in Call of Duty: WW2. It also features fights between the soldiers and tanks.
Call of Duty: WWII is a first-person shooter video game developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It is the fourteenth primary installment in the Call of Duty series. The game is set in European theatre of the war. The campaign is centered around a squad in the 1st Infantry Division, and follows their battles in the Western Front, while the multiplayer expands on different fronts not seen in the campaign. The game was released worldwide on November 3, 2017.

My grandfather was here. Slogged through hell for months with the Bloody Bucket until he caught shrapnel. He found out later that same day everyone in his company was wiped out. It changed him, Grandma said. He became angry and embittered. Never talked about the war. All I have are the telegrams my great grandmother got from the War Department and sparse stories we picked up from him over the years when he said one sentence too much. He wouldn’t even wait to stop talking before shoving the drink back into his head which loosened him up enough to utter that much.

I don’t blame my sister when she cried over this
I just cried and all those nightmares came back to me again! I immediately had the flashbacks of when I died for Daniels and i never got to see him take his grief on everyone else. Daniels reaction to when i died was very heart wrenching since we started probably falling in love at the Hill. The flashbacks were definitely haunting
You can really see the contrast between Piers and Turner. Piers will do anything and sacrifice anyone as long as the mission succeeds and Turner will look for a way to keep casualties to a minimum while finishing the mission and the squad sees that.
Yeah but once you learn the full context of what happened in Kasserine Pass with Pierson and Turner, you'd understand how and why that event broke him and he became a by-the-book leader with little regard to the lives of his men just so the mission is seen through.
Turner even implies to Daniels in the beginning that he was reluctant about demoting Pierson after what happened in Kasserine.

I had a horrible feeling that he was planning Turners death or something; my sister didn’t continue the game for a year because I knew his death affected her. My sister doesn’t know where I get my incredible strength from to continue the game

No wonder i had a meltdown at 1940 today which I totally regretted because I’ve never fallout with 1940 in my life until it told me that the war could make me emotional in a few years and 1940 wasn’t wrong

It made my sister cry and I bet she would have cried if our Daniels had died because I felt her emotions every time my sister mentions Hill 493. I don’t blame my sister if she gets horrible flashbacks from it and sometimes I feel them coming at her

I can not even fathom how it must feel to be there and fight besides those brave men who went to severd there country and have to see their own friends losing their life but make no mistake about it they are the true heroes and my there soul rest in peace and may the families of the fallen soldiers get peace and also I hope this will teach the next generation what freedom isn't free because brave men and women had to make or pay the unlimit price for freedom god bless the armed forces and may God bless the United States of America
I was just as scared as they were doing this level on veteran almost a month ago now. Their sacrifices make me appreciate that I am able to play the game today. I cry every time I play it but Woody thinks this game is ruining me and maybe Woody should appreciate what these brave people did back then as I do.
No doubt, This is one of the most difficult mission in all of COD series..
I done it like nothing was there and hardly died taking the tank out. Probably the best level in the game

I remember swearing when I couldn’t save him in time because I was playing in veteran and i kept blaming Woody for my horrible gaming. Hill 493 on veteran was the most traumatising experience I’ve been through

I have experienced Hill 493 at 3AM and I’ve totally regretted it because it cursed my game and I wasn’t expecting Daniels to be right there. I had a feeling he was watching me
15 years ago I visitet the first time the battlefield in the Hürtgenwald to search for relicts and since then I was verey often there. It looked very dfferent from the szene here.

I rage quit on this game so many times that I wanted to throw the controller at the wall! These new call of duty tends to be a mess and cause aggravation and rage.

I did Hill 493 in a huge rage to the point, I turned to a meltdown so I just went for it because I wanted to get my justice for those who died in the war and I was so relieved when I got it

Only Turner was the one who helped me in veteran whilst everyone else didn’t care! I loved every time a Nazi came after me, Turner would go after them and he gives me enough time to go very aggressive
I don't know if it is the difficult mode (beginner, standard, hard, veteran, ...), but the AI of the enemies I've seen on the videos are very poor. Graphics of the stories are wonderful, however during the battles we see lot of fails (artificial movements).

took me 6 minutes on normal

I know how it feels because I did it too and Woody was saying very hurtful things like “I hope that Daniels freaking dies!” I literally raged so hard at Woody and even my game became cursed because Daniels looked so ready to fight Woody and he eventually dies in real time. It was total chaos in my house by the time I started spotting Daniels at 3am and he looked ready to fight Woody, I was relieved when Woody lost to Daniels on the night I played my game at 3am. They eventually got on after that incident and I was surprised

Doing Hill 493 was my nightmare because it predicted probably the saddest dreams of the game when I died for Daniels and his grief was absolutely hell! I was surprised Daniels still kept going without me. I won’t forget that horrible nightmare after playing Hill 493

COD WW2 Single player Campaign mode was by far the best Experience WW2 wise to grace our Flat Screens. Not so hot on the Multiplayer though but if that counts for anything
Eh, World at war was more acaurate. Why?
1. No females
2. Gritty, bloody and not afraid of swastikas
3. More than just the Americans from 1944 to 1945. In fact, it showed 2 of the worst fronts of the war and majority of the whole front.

Pierson should’ve died on Hill 493 so that he would’ve redeemed himself for Kassarine, Turner was in no condition to sacrifice himself.
I was hoping that to happen but it was sadly Turner instead! I turned into the very aggressive Daniels after that and just went in for it like nothing was there

This game is like starring in your own CGI movie. Hollyweed actors will be obsolete in 10 or 15 years because most movies will all be CGI. Who the hell will need an arrogant actor when computers have no bad attitudes.
Who decides on character and motivation? No human being is a machine.
I never understood all of the hate for this game. This was the most immersive WW2 campaign I’ve ever played through and made you feel like you were actually there with all the chaos taking place. Yes the multiplayer needed work and I would never play it over a Battlefield multiplayer, but the campaign was unrivaled and made Battlefield V’s campaign look boring and uninteresting aside from The Last Tiger, and certain parts of Tirailleur.
Fully agree. There's been several times I'd switch from bfv multiplayer to cod ww2 just for the campaign
raysmith121 The frustrating thing is that Battlefield V has so much potential; the game is clearly rushed and full of bugs, but the decision not to focus on the significant battles of WW2 like Dunkirk, El Alamein, Kasserine Pass, Stalingrad, Kursk, Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, and Berlin baffles me. I wish we could get a game that takes the campaign of COD and the multiplayer of Battlefield that’s historically accurate. Guess we’ll have to wait.

After this level, I turned very aggressive and my Woody had to watch as my aggression deteriorates. Woody has experienced he’ll over the years and seeing the heart wrenching change in me after the late Queens death; I turned into a very aggressive EXE and started breaking things again

28th infantry had a bigger role than the big red one.
Raabert Ellis The Big Red One played the biggest role though, before entering Europe for war they were stationed all around the US helping prepare regiments for combat, and training other divisions, not only did they do that but they took Normandy from The Nazis and is why their numbers plundered, bc they broke a way through allowing for the Allies to start their invasions. As far as the 28th I agree they were also amongst some of the fierce but in no way do they compare to importance of the big red one, put the 28th in the big reds role and I promise the outcome of ww2 would have been different.b

A few errors with this: The player's M1 Carbine features the rearsenaled rear sight with windage adjustment and the front sight is hooded for some reason. And the "1928" Thompson is actually an M1
