Hey guys just subscibed! Thx for your time!!! I got mine last week in the two tone black slide and FDE frame!!! Added the Large back strap and the Hurley Welding and Woodworks ext mag plates to my clips and it is now perfect!!! Go Canik!!! Thanks Guys!! METE!!!

Great video guys. I have both myself and it's incredibly hard to say which is better. I think the shield is a tiny bit easier to carry. The MC9 is incredibly accurate, more so than the shield in my hands at least. The MC9 does have an incredibly stiff recoil spring. It has caused some people problems. You can contact Canik and they will ship a lighter recoil spring to you.

Great video... Gotta use the lav mics. That be audio isn't aa crisp as it should be. The mics now cost the same as a bag of Skittles
The Canik trigger is based on the P99/PPQ. It's going to be better than the Shield unless they switched to a single action fully cocked striker design like Walther and Canik uses.

Def a tough choice. I have not shot a shield plus yet. But I do like the mc9 I have .
The shield plus Is definitely a gun you’d like if you enjoy the mc9. Both are amazing weapons picking one of the two choices is extremely hard.
I was really looking forward to picking up a new EDC to replace my original shield and I had planned to get the MC9. Then, I started hearing about all the issues some people had with it. At the same time, the shield plus seems to be 100% problem-free. I still haven't made a purchase lol
We both agree the smith just has a little something over the canik but the canik has been super solid with everything except slide lock back with certain mags.

I happen to own a smith and Wesson m& p shield plus. That is not black. Looks like a metallic gray color.
6 months late but id almost bet that the shield plus needed a rear sight adjustment out of the box. mine did. it was way off. 30 feet I was off by about 8 inches.

I don't have the Canik, however what appears to be the case with the Canik slide is that the magazine has to be in the firearm for the slide to lock back. This is the case with my Sig P229 and Hellcat Pro.

I’ve stored the mete mc9 with a locked back slide to decrease spring tension. You do not need a mag inserted to do this
@@magichand72 How did you get it to lock back initially without inserting an empty mag? I've never been able to do it or seen it done? That's why it didn't surprise me that he wasn't able to accomplish it in the video. Maybe you can record a video showing how it's done.

Yeah it’s extremely hard to lock the slide back without a mag inserted sometimes but after doing it over and over again it should finally get easier.
I'dike to point out that the latest Shield, the plus, has a terrific trigger. It's just as good as most any other triggers for personal defense.

Canik mc9 at least mine was junk! They even polished the feed ramp and sent me a new recoil spring and still awful! 3-4 out of battery issues, FMJ nosed dived so hard on the feed ramp it took a chunk out, federal punch jammed, Speer gold dot, 147 Winchester white box hallow points! I reached out to canik and demand a new firearm! I went and got the shield plus zero issues! I’m not against canik just telling my experience! The out of battery is the really scary one for me!
I bet, we’ve never had a problem out of ours but it’s definitely good to know. We always say the smith has a longer history with reliability.
I’ve took the spring out of my Canik and re-stretched it and it’s locked back every time after that

@@TriggeredEasily just make sure, when stretching the mag spring, do it on each space and don’t skip
mete mc9 and other caniks have the best triggers BUT M&P shield plus 4"barrel performance center trigger is about the same as canik. excellent shooter as is canik. caniks mc9 and SF with optics M&P without all are dead on. my caniks operate the same with or without magazine installed.
Remember the video isn't about you two. Highlight the firearms more. And action shots need to come well before they do

For those that care I think it would be good for you gentlemen to mention where the weapon is made. Smith and Wesson is an all USA made gun, and the canik mete in Turkey.
These guns seem to compair so close together, someone might see that as a winner that they support the US fully woth their purchase.
