Hey Caleb! Love the videos! Yeah, I got my PS5 the beginning of Feb. 2021. LOVING IT so far! You asked about the graphics. WOW! So Assassin's Creed Valhalla is GAWJUSS! As well as the PS5 version of Immortals Fenyx Rising! Even the Resident Evil VIII demo (The Maiden) looks absolutely insane graphically! The only issue I've had so far is......sorry to say: I had to replace one of my 2 PS5 controllers for stick drift. :-( But other than that, I think this system has a bright future that will only get better as more PS exclusive games come out for it!
I got a PS5 on Launch, and paired it with my 65" X950G. So far I have been more than impressed with the game quality in both PS5 native and PS4 back compat. Compared to my base PS4 the PS5 has been a revelation revelation showcasing 60fps games, and even 1080p/120 with Borderlands 3 Performance Mode. I had an unfortunate error with Control Ultimate edition that resulted in my entire save getting corrupted and losing a week of progress. Other than having to do a factory reset in early December due to some data corruption errors playing Days Gone its been quite solid. I am still avoiding rest mode. Playback on 4K blurays is quite an experience but I dearly wish the console supported Dolby Vision.
I have a ps5 and vizio 65" q9 tv. Yes I have to reboot it. I'm about to get a remote outlet to turn it on and off wo going thru admin tool lol. Other than that it looks great. Ghost of Tsushima is awesome. Spiderman is great.

It's because the 2.1 port of the PS5 is capped at 32 gbps. The full bandwidth of 2.1 is 48 gbps. Xbox Series X's HDMI port has a bandwidth of 40 gbps so it's able to run at 120hz, 4K, HDR at RGB. With PS5 being capped at 32 gbps, if you run a game at 120hz it has to use YUV422 cuz of the limited bandwidth of the PS5 port.

I am impressed with my PS5....I was lucky to get one from Best Buy....but for those that are having a hard time getting one, relax....your PS4 will be fine until you get one.

Going from 30 to 60 does that. Especially since it says at 60 and not at 45. Hell, even playing gta 5 online at locked 30 is better with it not going to 18 fps in some areas.
One thing I wanted to mention, not every Hdmi port in a tv will support 4k 60. If the PS5 is only detecting 1080 probably on the wrong port. Also on some TV'S you may need to switch that port to enhanced.
I'm impressed with my PS5's graphics to be perfectly honest. And i come from a PS4 Pro. But i'm much more impressed with the speed of the system, i mean, the startup process is really a couple of seconds. The loading times of any games are so much faster as well. Fast traveling, again, is blazingly fast, (it's actually incredible that fast traveling actually really means fast traveling!) And god, that PS5 is quiet! I mean, sure, you can hear the disc spin from time to time, but that really means nothing compered to the PS4 (Pro). It's crazy but i appreciate that so much and it's something everyone will appreciate once they got their hands on one. The gamers who already own one will back me up with what i've said i'm sure! I hope that everyone who wants one get one very quickly!
Making sure you are using the HDMI input with UHD color is really important. I found out only one of my HDMI inputs supported UHD color after owning it for a while, and it was a game-changer to turn it on and start using it
How can you tell if an HDMI input doesn't support it? Is it just a question of whether the HDMI input supports "ultra HD deep color"? All 3 of my HDMI inputs support that.
thankfully I already knew it's best to leave things on automatic and just adjust initial HDR settings correctly. I'm fine with the picture quality from the system. think it handles it well. I'm a simple man listen when you've been on the Wii for 3-4yrs, no recent next gen in awhile, then this is golden.
Although I love playstation and Sony rn I hate them and the ps5 is trash. U can't buy t anywhere there's stick drift all over the place there's glitches going on sometimes the console won't turn on from rest mode and so onnn... I'd rather stick with the PS4
What is confusing in video setting is the TV's own options with their fancy names. I use Sony TVs for my PS gaming, but in the end, not sure do their work/communicate together that well. I would like to see Sony to make their TVs automatically work the best intended way with their consoles. They could actually sell more Tvs that way.
I was a Sony TV user as well, but then I switched to an LG C2 OLED. Couldn't have made a better choice! It pairs excellently with Sony's PS5 and gives me the best gaming options, including VRR, Allm, Low Latency mode, G-SYNC and FreeSync. Best gaming TV I've ever seen.
I bit the bullet n gave in to scalpers smh. I literally just got back home about 2 hours ago from picking up my ps5. I paid 700$ for it n it’s worth every penny 🤷🏽♂️
For the second time in 5 days I tried to get one in the Playstation store online Waited almost an hour combined both days, never got chosen to check out in line.

Very handy info about that 4K Video Transfer rate. Didnt understand why my tv colors seems more washed out with the 120HZ perfomance mode. But could be because of the 4:2:2 mode instead of 4:4:4 on just 60hz i think?
I was avoiding these videos for the longest time due to salt and fury towards the scalpers. Last Thursday morning I was incredibly lucky (after much vigilance) to secure myself a unit. It came Monday morning. Upgraded from a slim model. 4K HDR gaming, the amazing DualSense which expands and improves on the already best-in-class DualShock 4. The benefits that come from the super-fast SSD, the all new, superior dashboard with fully integrated store. That alone would be enough to sell it to me. Improved graphics with Ray Tracing support are just the icing on the cake. It's still early days and things look VERY bright for this console! So far not disappointed in the slightest. Even more value seeing as I wasn't upgrading from a Pro. I mean, I know I'd be still seen as being in the honeymoon period but I swear to god, in my own opinion, the PS5 is well worth the hype.
Guys my ps5 keeps glitching, how do I fix it? I dont know if I did something wrong but it's not working cause everytime I use it, it turns off every 10 seconds then it goes black and u can c green dots on the screen then it goes back to the homepage. And it's making a weird noise. It's the kind of noise u would here when a laptop has a error but it sounds a bit differently. What do I do?
Yes, hdmi 2.0 doesn’t have the bandwidth for full 4K hdr rgb it changes to yuv420 My solution is turning hdr off and leaving it full 4K rgb sdr and the image looks better than ever Or alternatively you could lower resolution to 1080p and enable hdr for full rgb 60fps while your tv attempts to upscale image to full 4K, I’ve tested it on some games and the results look great
Thank you for this video and explaining all the video settings. You are right about one point: The HDR On/Off setting. I still hope that too that there will come an additional option for HDR. I actually don't use the HDR mode on my PS5 until this prob is solved.
I keep mine off too. I seem to get better color with it off. When it was on Auto I was getting black flashing. So, I’m wondering how this is effecting my graphics. My tv is set to HDR, but the PS5 HDR is off. So, am I seeing HDR? It’s kind of pissing me off.
I spent a couple days playing on the Switch and some MMOs so i hadnt really been on my PS5 in a minute. And then the other day i booted up Miles Morales in Fidelity mode and holy crap I thought I was looking at E3 footage. The graphics and the level of detail, with the amount of stuff going on at once, It was breathtaking.
I wish I found this video when I set my PS5 up, it took me so long to work out that my Tv needed me to switch it to the HDMI 2.1 setting you mentioned, it also needed me to have the PS5 plugged in while I did it otherwise it just reverted each start up lol
Not only the graphics, but the speed and usage of the system is way better than it was with ps4, I´m really happy that I bought one, also, 4k is one of the best upsteps in my settings.
My HDR on my LG I feel is too dark. Resident evil 8 dark areas are way too dark. And in Spider-Man miles morales in dark areas its also quite dark and hard to see people with darker skins faces. I tried putting my black level to high and full on tv and ps5 and that seems to fix it , but people say that doing that makes the screen have washed out colours ? Idk what to do
Thanks for this! I also agree about the automatic HDR forced at all times; it’s annoying and should be fixed by now. The PS4 handled it perfectly fine so I don’t understand the change.
People need to STOP telling others to put Tone mapping on HGIG by default!!! Only certain games support HGIG and when it's on by default in many other games it will be far too dark\dull and pointlessly kill your HDR brightness. You should leave LG tone mapping set to ON and if you really want to test HGIG find out if a game supports it, recalibrate ps5 hdr settings and change from ON to HGIG.
FINALLY! I have a ps5 and a LG c9.. been having big problems with Big time FPS loss.. but when i enabled the settings you said on my LG tv it suddenly got perfect.. im talking about the SIMPLINK HDMI.. i had it off.. now on.. and i have full fps now..thank you soooo mutch..
I’m not sure if I’m crazy, but I have spent hours trying to get HDR to look good on my tv and it never does. It’s always too bright or has washed out colors. My TV supports HDR 10 and it never looks as good as HDR off. I have a PS5 and series X and they both look the same.
This video just needlessly confuses people as most modern tvs and ps5 can communicate fine and PS5 settings should pretty much all be left on auto\default. The important changes to picture are done on the TV itself like the early tips to activate hdmi 2.1 features (Only important part in video). Each tvs calibration is different and people prefer different things but looking up your tv model and a trusted calibration guide can be a good start and you adjust settings from there how you like.
It runs most games at 1440p to 1800p, when it comes to old BC PS4 games. There is no fix for it, they just look like they did on the Pro and Sony don't put much time and effort into enhancing old titles like MS do. That's why I refuse to buy a PS5 when my Pro does just fine. Even the remakes/ and remasters really only have miniscule changes. Especially UC Legacy of Thieves and LOU Remake Part 1. Just a fact.
Just picked up a PS5 from bestbuy Friday 7/22/22. We bought an Xbox series X while trying to find a PS5. My dell 32" gaming monitor seems to be able to display sharper on the Xbox but the feel and response of the controller feels quite different coming from a PS4. Playing the PS5 on the same monitor at first seemed worse until I realized the game was a PS4 game. Once I saw the PS5 version, I honestly liked the PS5 better. However, I can see little things here an there that would make one choose Xbox vs PS5. Both are good either way. Can't complain having both. lol
Enabling HDMI-CEC is terrible advice, it caused me so much trouble in setting up PS5, my LG C1 constantly kept messing with the console and preventing it from functioning normally
Are older TVs more prone to colour banding? I have a Samsung UN49KU6500 Curve TV from about 2016. It is 4k, but HDR8 instead of 10. I have really noticeable banding and no settings I change on it or the PS5 gets rid of the banding. Is there something I'm missing or is it just something I have to live with until I upgrade? And I can attest to PS5's auto HDR not playing well with SDR content. PS4 games like Person 4 look terrible with really dull, washed-out colour and a strange bloom effect on bright colours. I really hope Sony patches the PS5 to give an option to auto turn off HDR for SDR content.
I have a LG CX, PS5 and Denon S730H. The denon will not support hdmi 2.1 so I plugged the ps5 into the tv. I can hear the sound through the receiver but I have a black screen. Also, the hdmi cable going from ps5 to tv is ultra fast 2.1. Please help!

I have Simple 50 1080p Samsung tv and when i chose hdmi1 but change source name to PC or Game its change graphic drastically, on PC its more smoothy less color (i think natural to demon souls game type) but i think less resolution. The PS5 is the worst console ever made!! For DLC’s most of them wont appear on my system something to do with Sony and having so many DLC’s at once. I’ve had both machines for over a year now and I’m absolutely delighted with the Xbox. The PS5 will be sold before long.
For the life of my I can’t figure out why my ps5 looks so grey and washed out. I go into a game and all video ps5 settings are set to 4K. Even when I try setting the transfer rate to -1 no luck. I have a color range YUV422 while i see on every video full RGB ? also my HDCP is on 1.4 and not 2.3 . i just don't know what i am doing wrong? television and ps5 are up to date.... someone here that can tell me what to do?
Does anyone know a setting that will turn off my Samsung QN90A when I power off my PS5? When I turn on my PS5 it powers on my tv and Samsung sound at the same time. But when I power down my PS5 it doesn’t turn off the tv or soundbar. My Xbox Series X does it no problem. Any help is appreciated!

Still no native support for 1440, only an upscale from 1080. My monitor is capable of 144hz (HDMI 2.0) but only gets 60Hz (in-game with COD in performance mode). It's worth noting...

I don't think the PS5 graphics getting any better. The awful view distance problem is still quite visible. Just objects and visual aspects disappearing when you are at certain distance from them and pop-up when you close them. It's awful. It's happening all the time.

I am probably very ignorant, but I can't understand why I should set the tv on game mode, I know that sounds stupid if you are actually playing videogames, but I got an LG Oled CX , I followed all the instructions you gave on your previous video, and to me, the image looks amazing if I keep the TV on either Vivid or Standard mode, but as soon as I select game mode the image quality drops a lot... what am I doing wrong? Am I the only person in the world who sees this?
I've had a ps5 since launch and have the LG CX OLED. People complaining they dont have a ps5 shouldn't worry too much yet, your not missing anything, there are no games for it anyway and the best looking games are demons souls and destiny 2 ps5 ver. There literally is no other game worth buying a ps5 for at the moment.the next good game will be returnal at the end of April kinda wish I waited because I'm playing more on my pc than ps5 right now until theres any actual games for it.

Sony needs to change the HDR always on feature. Some games don't look right with the hdr always on so I have to manually turn it off. It'd be nice if it only came on when the specific game or app supports HDR.
What if you have an OLED TV and the black level only has a low or high setting, but no auto. Which one do I use? It’s an LG OLED and I can’t remember which model.

I guess the real annoying part is the earc still works so when I use tv remote to turn off it also turns off ps5 off

@@died4u525 my TV has a menu option for the hdmi ports. That's where you can enable UHD for the hdmi ports (turn on or off).
Well how do you which of your ports is with uhd ?

What is confusing in video setting is the TV's own options with their fancy names. I use Sony TVs for my PS gaming, but in the end, not sure do their work/communicate together that well. I would like to see Sony to make their TVs automatically work the best intended way with their consoles. They could actually sell more Tvs that way.
I was a Sony TV user as well, but then I switched to an LG C2 OLED. Couldn't have made a better choice! It pairs excellently with Sony's PS5 and gives me the best gaming options, including VRR, Allm, Low Latency mode, G-SYNC and FreeSync. Best gaming TV I've ever seen.

Very handy info about that 4K Video Transfer rate. Didnt understand why my tv colors seems more washed out with the 120HZ perfomance mode. But could be because of the 4:2:2 mode instead of 4:4:4 on just 60hz i think?

I was avoiding these videos for the longest time due to salt and fury towards the scalpers. Last Thursday morning I was incredibly lucky (after much vigilance) to secure myself a unit. It came Monday morning. Upgraded from a slim model. 4K HDR gaming, the amazing DualSense which expands and improves on the already best-in-class DualShock 4. The benefits that come from the super-fast SSD, the all new, superior dashboard with fully integrated store. That alone would be enough to sell it to me.
Improved graphics with Ray Tracing support are just the icing on the cake. It's still early days and things look VERY bright for this console! So far not disappointed in the slightest. Even more value seeing as I wasn't upgrading from a Pro. I mean, I know I'd be still seen as being in the honeymoon period but I swear to god, in my own opinion, the PS5 is well worth the hype.
Guys my ps5 keeps glitching, how do I fix it? I dont know if I did something wrong but it's not working cause everytime I use it, it turns off every 10 seconds then it goes black and u can c green dots on the screen then it goes back to the homepage. And it's making a weird noise. It's the kind of noise u would here when a laptop has a error but it sounds a bit differently. What do I do?

Do you need hdmi 2.1 to have hdr enabled and RGB? Mine is showing HDR on but I’m only getting YUV422 in the video output information
Yes, hdmi 2.0 doesn’t have the bandwidth for full 4K hdr rgb it changes to yuv420
My solution is turning hdr off and leaving it full 4K rgb sdr and the image looks better than ever
Or alternatively you could lower resolution to 1080p and enable hdr for full rgb 60fps while your tv attempts to upscale image to full 4K, I’ve tested it on some games and the results look great

Thank you for this video and explaining all the video settings. You are right about one point: The HDR On/Off setting. I still hope that too that there will come an additional option for HDR. I actually don't use the HDR mode on my PS5 until this prob is solved.
Its not an issue they are looking to fix because its not an issue to them it was done that way intentionally
I keep mine off too. I seem to get better color with it off. When it was on Auto I was getting black flashing. So, I’m wondering how this is effecting my graphics. My tv is set to HDR, but the PS5 HDR is off. So, am I seeing HDR?

I spent a couple days playing on the Switch and some MMOs so i hadnt really been on my PS5 in a minute. And then the other day i booted up Miles Morales in Fidelity mode and holy crap I thought I was looking at E3 footage. The graphics and the level of detail, with the amount of stuff going on at once, It was breathtaking.
I wish I found this video when I set my PS5 up, it took me so long to work out that my Tv needed me to switch it to the HDMI 2.1 setting you mentioned, it also needed me to have the PS5 plugged in while I did it otherwise it just reverted each start up lol
Not only the graphics, but the speed and usage of the system is way better than it was with ps4, I´m really happy that I bought one, also, 4k is one of the best upsteps in my settings.
I looks great, but I don't thinknthe developer's are really pushing. Give it about 3 years and we will see leaps.

My HDR on my LG I feel is too dark. Resident evil 8 dark areas are way too dark. And in Spider-Man miles morales in dark areas its also quite dark and hard to see people with darker skins faces. I tried putting my black level to high and full on tv and ps5 and that seems to fix it , but people say that doing that makes the screen have washed out colours ? Idk what to do

People need to STOP telling others to put Tone mapping on HGIG by default!!! Only certain games support HGIG and when it's on by default in many other games it will be far too dark\dull and pointlessly kill your HDR brightness. You should leave LG tone mapping set to ON and if you really want to test HGIG find out if a game supports it, recalibrate ps5 hdr settings and change from ON to HGIG.

I’m not sure if I’m crazy, but I have spent hours trying to get HDR to look good on my tv and it never does. It’s always too bright or has washed out colors. My TV supports HDR 10 and it never looks as good as HDR off. I have a PS5 and series X and they both look the same.

This video just needlessly confuses people as most modern tvs and ps5 can communicate fine and PS5 settings should pretty much all be left on auto\default. The important changes to picture are done on the TV itself like the early tips to activate hdmi 2.1 features (Only important part in video). Each tvs calibration is different and people prefer different things but looking up your tv model and a trusted calibration guide can be a good start and you adjust settings from there how you like.
It runs most games at 1440p to 1800p, when it comes to old BC PS4 games. There is no fix for it, they just look like they did on the Pro and Sony don't put much time and effort into enhancing old titles like MS do. That's why I refuse to buy a PS5 when my Pro does just fine. Even the remakes/ and remasters really only have miniscule changes. Especially UC Legacy of Thieves and LOU Remake Part 1. Just a fact.
Just picked up a PS5 from bestbuy Friday 7/22/22. We bought an Xbox series X while trying to find a PS5. My dell 32" gaming monitor seems to be able to display sharper on the Xbox but the feel and response of the controller feels quite different coming from a PS4. Playing the PS5 on the same monitor at first seemed worse until I realized the game was a PS4 game. Once I saw the PS5 version, I honestly liked the PS5 better. However, I can see little things here an there that would make one choose Xbox vs PS5. Both are good either way. Can't complain having both. lol
Enabling HDMI-CEC is terrible advice, it caused me so much trouble in setting up PS5, my LG C1 constantly kept messing with the console and preventing it from functioning normally
Are older TVs more prone to colour banding?
I have a Samsung UN49KU6500 Curve TV from about 2016. It is 4k, but HDR8 instead of 10. I have really noticeable banding and no settings I change on it or the PS5 gets rid of the banding. Is there something I'm missing or is it just something I have to live with until I upgrade?
And I can attest to PS5's auto HDR not playing well with SDR content. PS4 games like Person 4 look terrible with really dull, washed-out colour and a strange bloom effect on bright colours. I really hope Sony patches the PS5 to give an option to auto turn off HDR for SDR content.

I have a LG CX, PS5 and Denon S730H. The denon will not support hdmi 2.1 so I plugged the ps5 into the tv. I can hear the sound through the receiver but I have a black screen. Also, the hdmi cable going from ps5 to tv is ultra fast 2.1. Please help!

The PS5 is the worst console ever made!! For DLC’s most of them wont appear on my system something to do with Sony and having so many DLC’s at once. I’ve had both machines for over a year now and I’m absolutely delighted with the Xbox. The PS5 will be sold before long.
For the life of my I can’t figure out why my ps5 looks so grey and washed out. I go into a game and all video ps5 settings are set to 4K. Even when I try setting the transfer rate to -1 no luck.
I need my ARC channel for the Denon and tried every other port without success. I believe all ports are at a minimum 2.0 and set to enhanced on the tv.

hi everyone, i have 2020 OLED GX , with high speed HDMI cable, game mode on, HDMI color mode on, instant game respons on, FreeSync mode on. I have a color range YUV422 while i see on every video full RGB ? also my HDCP is on 1.4 and not 2.3 . i just don't know what i am doing wrong? television and ps5 are up to date.... someone here that can tell me what to do?
Does anyone know a setting that will turn off my Samsung QN90A when I power off my PS5? When I turn on my PS5 it powers on my tv and Samsung sound at the same time. But when I power down my PS5 it doesn’t turn off the tv or soundbar. My Xbox Series X does it no problem. Any help is appreciated!

Still no native support for 1440, only an upscale from 1080. My monitor is capable of 144hz (HDMI 2.0) but only gets 60Hz (in-game with COD in performance mode). It's worth noting...

I don't think the PS5 graphics getting any better. The awful view distance problem is still quite visible. Just objects and visual aspects disappearing when you are at certain distance from them and pop-up when you close them. It's awful. It's happening all the time.

I am probably very ignorant, but I can't understand why I should set the tv on game mode, I know that sounds stupid if you are actually playing videogames, but I got an LG Oled CX , I followed all the instructions you gave on your previous video, and to me, the image looks amazing if I keep the TV on either Vivid or Standard mode, but as soon as I select game mode the image quality drops a lot... what am I doing wrong? Am I the only person in the world who sees this?
I've had a ps5 since launch and have the LG CX OLED. People complaining they dont have a ps5 shouldn't worry too much yet, your not missing anything, there are no games for it anyway and the best looking games are demons souls and destiny 2 ps5 ver. There literally is no other game worth buying a ps5 for at the moment.the next good game will be returnal at the end of April kinda wish I waited because I'm playing more on my pc than ps5 right now until theres any actual games for it.

The Lg c9 and E9 doesn’t have auto unless on PC mode how do we set this up properly for E9? Having a lot of crushed blacks everything’s calibrated properly..
I have an LG E7 from 2017 and I need to turn HDR off in performance mode in order to play CoD Warzone in HD and 120 Hz otherwise the colors looks washed out
The HDR Calibration steps are wrong and should be clipped in the blacks completely while the white should just be clipped slightly.

Sony needs to change the HDR always on feature. Some games don't look right with the hdr always on so I have to manually turn it off. It'd be nice if it only came on when the specific game or app supports HDR.
