I think he is funny because he can't believe how stupid the US/Western leaders and their cheerleaders in academia and the media are. I think that is why he behaves that way and I agree with him in many ways. The extent to which these people are so far off-base and detached from reality cannot be overestimated. What is worse is that when you try to engage with them, it is like hitting your head on a concrete world. They are so used to being right and powerful that they are immune from learning anything new. I have a friend in the US and I have decided not to engage him further in discussing this war. It makes no sense. He is stuck in the 70s/80s/90s when the US was all powerful or rather thought they were all powerful.

The idea that Sweden and Finland to allow the US to base their nuclear weapons there could potentially has existential consequences for these countries. In any kind of war between NATO and Russia, these bases would be legitimate targets. In case of such war goes nuclear, and if any nuclear missile is launched from these bases to attack Russia, then Russia has every right to retaliate in kind.
