I don't care what Neil would want "me to feel".....I am Absolutely BROKEN HEARTED; Neil Peart was a GIANT in the world of literacy, percussion, musicisionship, motor cycle riding and so many other abilities....the world lost a TRUE, WORLD CLASS, BEST OF THE BEST, GIANT AMONG MEN on January 4th, 2020.........Doctor David....
well it's not the end of the world we have 40 yrs of memories 20 studio albums with many countless live recordings it's time we celebrate a man who was gifted with many talents and made a big difference to many many people around the world i know he made a difference in my life
I cried on the Cold December day he announced his retirement and I sobbed at hearing of his death. I personally feel that he was the greatest drummer of my lifetime. I hope that his kit will be displayed somewhere appropriate for us to appreciate his talent and gift to the world. RUSH will forever be in my heart as the best trio ever to grace this earth. Thank you for the many decades of your musical fabulousness. So glad I was able to see them live! Forever in my memory!💔
it's funny ... I never considered myself a big Rush fan ... of course, I knew all the hits and liked 'em all. I only saw Roll The Bones tour and, more recently the Clockwork Angels tour here in Seattle (many Candians flew in too to see it) and thoroughly enjoyed them as well. Neil's passing nonetheless hit me quite hard ... I cried for over a week, that was unexpected, tho on reflection it wasn't as I recognized the deep gravity of the moment as someone who had come of age in the time of early Prog (I'm 63). RIP, Professor 😞💔
RUSH now belongs to history and the whole world now realizes just how much we loved them - each and every one of them with the passing of Neil. May they never be forgotten for who what they brought into our lives. May their music forever echo into eternity. Long Live RUSH!!!!!!
Suddenly you are gone and you don't realize the lives you left your mark upon. We will remember. Two fingers of Macallan, two cubes of ice. Glass raised in your honor. RIP, Professor, OC
This is one of my favorite songs on this album. I once drove through a snow storm long distance listening to this album, and this song was on when I pulled in to town. It was pretty kick ass.
He was my musical hero and I’m still in shock Got into Rush in 1978 and been a huge fan since - remember coming home with my new albums, CDs, then the remasters ... truly a wonderful band Tears ran when I got a text telling me the news, the Professor has gone RIP Neil Peart - musical legend, lovely gentleman and all of thoughts are for his family and Geddy/Alex
Neil may of said that one should be their own "hero"...perhaps he was right... however he was a hero to too many for simply pointing that out. RIP Neil, the World will forever miss you. 😢😥😢😥
Rush inspired me to become a musician. Although I'm insignificant, maybe there's something cosmically appropriate about hearing the terrible news 2/3 of the way through a gig I was playing and having a blast at. I was playing in no small part because of him and Geddy and Alex. His music, lyrics and prose will rightfully live forever.
I was a plucking novice on a Gibson EB3 when I discovered Fly by Night. I played the crap out that record as a DJ at a local FM rock station. Did a narrated presentation of 2112 that was well accepted. Later, my band wss performing all of 2112, Xanadu, LaVilla Anthem, Freewill, and so on. I knew those drum parts better than most drummers who thought they were playing it. Simply incredible. Freeze..
R.I.P Neil, many drummers make drumming look like hard work, Neil was just warming up playing at some serious drum beats per minute, and hardly ever seen him break a sweat in any of Rush's videos, yet playing his heart out, yet the man, nay... the legend that was N.P was always trying to find perfection, imho he's surpassed it by miles
More so, he'd want anyone to continue being a student in their craft, and not lose sight of the continuation of the art. These fellas taught me a lot as a longtime bassist. I've worked with some incredible percussionist. Those who remained students. My hand is on my heart, Snowdog. I once had a great yellow Labrador named Snowdog. Gee, I wonder why? Additionally, this is an epic piece of music here. Headphone time. May your D# reach to a G, while skipping the E.
Had this song randomly stuck in my head for a couple days without listening to it in probably a year. Your upload says it was time to listen again. Still in shock but Neil's legacy will live on forever in our hearts. Rest in Paradise, Professor. \m/

What album is this off?
Chris Zelez Vapor Trails. Brilliant album!
Agreed!!
@Ducati Dave actually Presto and Vapor Trails are my two favorite post-Signals Rush albums.
I'm very sad and cried a lot.

Argentina llora la pérdida de Neil Peart. Gracias maestro por todo lo enseñado.
Always remember, Neil would not want us to care & remorse about his death, he'd want us to simply appreciate his music and move on with our lives
More so, he'd want anyone to continue being a student in their craft, and not lose sight of the continuation of the art.

in the available light..a healing hand, a secret touch on the heart..,,,as he stares out the kitchen door where the sun will rise no-more..suddenly you were gone ,from all the lives you left your mark apon..I remember
How we talked and drank into the misty dawn
I hear the voices,,
I remember
The shouts of joy, skiing fast through the woods
I hear the echoes,
I learned your love for life
I feel the way that you would
I feel your presence
I remember,,I feel, I feel the way you would
This just can't be understood
I tried to believe but you know it's no good
This is something that just can't be understoodOh the wind can carry
All the voices of the sea
Oh the wind can carry
All the echoes home to me
Run with wind and weather
To the music of the sea
All four winds together
Can't bring the world to me
Chase the wind around the world
I want to look at life --
In the available light
Play of light
A photograph
The way I used to be
Some half-forgotten stranger
Doesn't mean that much to me
Trick of light
Moving picture
Moments caught in flight
Make the shadows darker
Or the colors shine too bright
I wonder how they've been regulating the atomic clocks now that he's gone? Cesium atom? Nah. We're on UTP, the Peart Universal Time standard.
Muito triste 😢
I am still not good with this.
Better than the original mix. That was a fucking disaster.
The drums are crystal clear on this remix. But the original has more balls.
😭😭😭😭😭
