UPDATE: Since recording this video, The Athletic has reported that teams could be limited to 3 cars under the next charter agreement. JGR and HMS would be allowed to keep their 4 cars. This news would definitely change my FRM prediction if it ends up being real haha.

Downfall began when Stewart took his ball and went home. Instead of sticking with it and seeing his commitment to his drivers, team, and all the personnel; many that will lose their jobs, he bitched and moaned about how unfair Nascar was and checked out. Good for him that he's all about drag racing now but really Tony has always been about Tony first.

he was asking for a Cup race at Eldora, said he'd be ok with it, so when they announced they were covering Bristol with dirt he cancelled the deal with NASCAR, which I can imagine really played a factor
he felt stabbed in the back by NASCAR, let down by Ford, so no wonder he has gone MIA, why stay with organizations that you feel have let you down?
Dark horse prediction: Cindric gets moved to the 21 and they bring in briscoe for the 2 car. Austin’s dad running the Indy car side of Penske helps with the seat but I think it would help kickstart with strengthening the satellite teams
Before looking in the comments, I thought this exact thing. How wild would it be that the 2020 best Xfinity driver that didn’t win the championship takes the ride of the Xfinity champion that season that drove for Penske then and still drives for Penske

I met Tony Stewart a few weeks ago and he told me that he doesn’t enjoy NASCAR anymore because of crappy rules and other charter type things and also said that he doesn’t know what his teams future is. That makes me feel like he’s gonna sell his portion of the team
You know why he doesn't know is because gene hasn't said anything and Gene is the money man. Everything else you said is pretty much public knowledge. I don't think Tony ever liked the charter shit. A former SHR employee Brian Murphy on x looks like he just waiting for news to drop so he can share whatever it is but he kinda took a shot yesterday with enjoying working at rfk and them having a fan day

Such a shame honestly. SHR could be right up there with Hendrick and Gibbs. They used to be right there. I understand the frustration with NASCAR, but it's just terrible that they lost their identity along the way somewhere. Reminds me of other championship caliber teams like Yates and DEI, which never should have come to point of folding.

SHR will be the catalyst of silly season, once they announce future plans it will begin the domino effect. There’s going to be alot of surprises that no one saw coming. Drivers, teams, sponsors etc. Fasten your seat belt everyone and expect the unexpected.
This will go down with 2017 and 2020 as the craziest silly season ever.

Plot twist: Andretti Autosport buys SHR and 2 of the charters, sells the other 2. Andretti works with Honda to join NASCAR and Andretti becomes the first and primary Honda team.

I think JRM is going to buy a charter. Something that flies underneath the radar is HMS running that 17 car in the Xfinity series. I think HMS is going to start a full time Xfinity team for their driver development and JRM is going to start a cup team.

I know Dale Jr has consistently said he is not interested in going cup racing anytime soon but maybe in the future. I think that with all the SHR charters available that maybe Dale will decide that the future is now. JRM in cup needs to happen, sooner rather than later.
Noah Gragson could go to the 19 or 3. Both sponsored by Bass Pro Shops. Gragson is associated with BPS.

@@miketwotwenty I think he has a legit chance at the 19. If he would had ruined Gibbs’ championship run back in 2022, then maybe a different story now. For the whole fiasco that Noah was involved in off-track, I’m pretty sure he learnt his lesson from that. Noah has matured a lot (at least what he shows to us). Will Toyota give him a chance? I think they would be foolish not too if given the right opportunity. He was with Chevy last year in the 42.
Maybe Harrison Burton might be a good driver for the 84(hopefully it gets rebranded to the 40, a nice Pete Hamilton tribute) and maybe Ryan Preece might just be what the doctor ordered at FRM to replace Todd Gilliland, which I think would make a great fit in the 55.
If SHR sells all 4 charters, I think this is how Dale Jr gets into the Cup series. I could see him joining either Daughtery or Kaulig. With that theory he'll grab Josh Berry and Rodney Childers and go racing on Sunday.
If Heim goes to Cup, I hope Moffitt goes to the 11 in Trucks

-Austin Dillon calls it, enter Austin Hill, that 3 team puttering around is inexcusable and it's time for Hill to get a shot while Kyle Busch is around to mentor and help him grow
-Front Row collects one charter from SHR, puts Briscoe in the 34 and Gragson in the 36, Gilliland remains in the 38. This team is starting to become one of the young gun teams
-Trackhouse collects two charters, Zane to the 98, SVG to the 27. Shane is essential to that brand, they are the worldwide team and SVG needs to get cup time while he's at his prime
-RFK collects the final charter, Josh Berry to the 97, Brad is aggressive on reviving RFK and that will require a third charter with an experienced but fresh driver in Berry
-Burton out, enter Riley Herbst. Solid talent with good sponsorship is what the Wood Brothers need and with Herbst's showing in the 36 the past few seasons he fits the bill
The only change I'd be on the fence with is the 21, because I could see a compelling reason to put in Cole Custer due to prior experience/defending Xfinity Champion, but I don't think they'll bite without his father's influence. As to 23XI I don't think they're interested in the midst of this charter snafu and the charter sales will go through before they make a decision there

I realize all is fair in love and silly season, but it seems like Haley is being groomed for a full-time slot with RFK; I wonder if he gets first crack.
I could see Briscoe over Berry because he drove trucks for Brad, but that's just thinking out loud.
I like your prediction, but I would I swap Zane Smith and SVG. Ready or not, I don't think SVG will be okay waiting 1 more year and he brings top dollar sponsorship (compare to ZS). In terms of experience, it's ok for him to suck a year or two in cup with the caveat that he could still qualify to the playoffs via a road course race. This year was about learning about the race tracks, next year will be about learning the car, and he can't do that in Xfinity based on how different the cars are. That's my bold prediction.
I agree. Trackhouse fields the #97 for SVG, and Kaulig, because of their alliance with TH, has Zane in the 16, and AJ running whatever races he wants in the #13.
@@leejefferson5373 Very good point. Zane will probably get a better average finish, but SVG is the only of the two driver who can contend for a win. Would make sense to nurture Zane's talent in a different car for now (Like Blaney at Wood Brothers).
I'm a Ford fan for sure. But they have a history of letting real talent slip thru thier fingers. Gragson is a future star. They need to open up thier eyes & find seats for Brisco, Gragson, & Berry. But, knowing Ford, they will let them go to competitors & put Custer in FRM seat!?......Bad move!
I think Custer might be able to turn Kaulig Racing around and give them wins in a new charter, the 61. Preece and Harrison Burton might be best as Toyota teammates in the 84 and 94.
Could Kaulig ‘working close’ with Trackhouse possibly mean SVG going cup racing with Kaulig in 2025? In either the 16 or renumbered 97? SVG is already driving for Kaulig in Xfinity. It’d cover Kaulig’s ‘trophy hunting’ motto, if Trackhouse is helping fit the bill some and SVG appears to have sponsors that’d help the costs to fill the car. This is really starting to sound like a possibility in my head. And then the 16 becomes a non-chartered part time car for AJ and a few other drivers through the year.
I Think That Stewart Haas Gets Rid Of The 41, Sells It To FRM And Keeps The 4, 10, 14 *And* Their Xfinity Program. Selling A Portion Of Their Shop To FRM To Accommodate For The Third Car

Take this with a grain of salt, cause I don't necessarily believe it. A friend of mine works at Haas CNC in Mooresville, i asked him if he's heard anything. He said a co-worker told him that JRM has bought 2 of the charters. Personally i don't believe it, to me it sounds like it's just what the co-worker thinks but idk. So take that with a grain of salt.

Jokes aside, I'm 99% sure somebody will be driving the 4, 10 and 14 cars next year.
Also, the 4th FRM would likely be a 32.
Assuming SHR is no more I could see front row running the 4 or 14 if they secure another charter.

I agree with RFK staying at 2. They should focus on the 2 they have and keep building on the success they have achieved. When the time comes to expand they already have RWR in house that they could get more involved with or just straight up buy out or merge with to create RFKW

If the charters “are” going that cheap I could see Jr buying one and leasing it out. Would be a good investment and possibly help fund a cup team in the future.
Hot take here. I could see Dale Jr(Jr motorsports) buying one charter. He has said in the past that he is looking and will buy if the price is right, which these prices are lower than they have been in awhile. And if Jr motorsports does so, i could see him signing Josh Berry and Rodney Childers in a new #88 Jr Motorsports cup car.
The fact that SHR, one of the best teams just 4 short years ago, and may be gone next year is insane…
Eric, I think you are overlooking the fact that Riley Herbst brings sponsorship money and I think he’s going to land a cup series ride even though he doesn’t deserve one.
If he gets to Cup would almost definitely be FRM.

Even if there is no limit to 3 charters, FRM adding two teams is a a little too much, too soon. They have to have the sponsors, and they probably need at least one win pretty soon to add two new teams.

I can't argue with any of your predictions, they have merit. Two things I would throw in to mix it up a little. First what if Ford tries to make sure all four shr charters go to ford teams. I could see them pressuring rfk into it? Second JRM has been rumored to want to go cup racing for what the last 5 years? Noah and Josh have both driven for them? Just two things my gut came up with.

I think that if JRM ever moves to Cup next season is possibly the best chance to see it.
I think with the massively reduced cost of a charter that Dale and Kelly might make a move on one or two charters should the right partners present themselves.
However I do not think that scenario is likely.

Why are we all pretending that Noah has to take whatever seat is available. He's getting the Bass Pro funding and can pretty much land anywhere aside from Penske, Childress 😢and Hendrick. Then again, maybe that's why RFK and RCR are in the mix for an SHR charter talk.

I pretty much agree with every prediction you just said with the exception of one thing. Josh Berry would be in a FRM No.4 car. That number, while yes has ties to SHR, is also still a brand from Harvick, Berry has a season in it and also Rodney Childers. It kinda fits their numbers in that it is an even number and it ends with a 4 like the 34. If FRM just completely buys out SHR stuff I think it’s 4, 34, 36, 38. If there is some kind of Merger- I think instead of 36 we either see the 10 or 41 remain if Gene is the partner (Noah does have a season in the 10 as well- driver-number-sponsor recognition is important) and if Tony is the partner then the 14 would be the other number. But it sounds like both of them are uninterested in NASCAR lately so yeah.
I agree with the Trackhouse predictions- but I think Justin Marks sits down with his drivers and tells SVG, Zane Smith, and Suarez that the three of them are competing in 2025 for who gets signed for the future. And if they ALL step up, maybe Trackhouse wrangles a charter off Kaulig for 2026 or SVG moves up to cup with Kaulig.
Actually- would SVG to Kaulig in 2025 be a possibility? Especially if Trackhouse is kinda helping front that bill? That would fill the 16 (or maybe make it 97?) and they can properly trophy hunt at road courses with him. Maybe that’s how the merger rumors got started? Cuz TH was talking to Kaulig about SVG in the 16/97 Cup car. Chris Rice did say they aren’t merging but are working close with Trackhouse- yknow this is starting to line up in my head.

I think a one out of left field that could happen is Andretti Global comes into NASCAR since they are having trouble with getting into F1. Marco has been doing races in the lower series. There is a chance that it could happen.
Maybe Marco could run a few races, but Andretti would be better off running a Project91-style rotation of hyped guest drivers. Chaz Mostert at Chicago, Filipe Albuquerque at CotA…

According to reports HMS and JGR will be grandfathered in. But any other team with less than 4 cars won't be aloud to purchase 4 charters. According to the charter agreement that's being worked on will only allow teams 3 charters max.
What If Sam hunt racing buys a cup charter that could very much happen people forget how good there cars are with the right driver.

I predict Christopher Bell will win this year's Coca-Cola 600 because he had speed last year and led 48 laps before being caught up in multiple incidents plus joe gibbs racing is good at charlotte motor speedway
I can see Tony wanting to get out but I wonder about Haas. Maybe, Haas takes his half (2 charters) and merges with Front Row. Hate to see Harrison lose his ride but he needs to step back to X-finity, maybe RCR 33 and work his way back up.
My prediction is the same as Eric’s with one change. I’m going to predict that RWR will pick up Harrison for the 15. I know ford still wants him from what I’ve heard.
FRM runs the 32 instead of the 35 if they go to 4 cars. Also expect RCR to pick up a 3rd charter if Dillon stays in the 3. I think Austin Hill moves to cup next year in the 3 renumbered to 29 or a 3rd car number 29.
Briscoe to Wood Brothers makes sense and is instantly a nice upgrade over Burton.

Far-fetched but imagine Dale Jr buying two charters and having Berry and Gragson drive; or Mayer if Berry is linked with Rodney and Ford. Maybe having the numbers 25 and 88 if Hendrick is willing, could be a shadow team for up and comers.

You nailed it with Front Row. Brisco to Wood Brothers. You missed it on one deal. RCR needs to lock up Jesse Love somehow because he is a hotter property than Austin Hill. He is cut from the same cloth as Kyle Larson. He jumped from Toyota because he didn't want to waste time in ARCA. Other than that, I think you nailed it except we don't know about Trackhouse.
I could see RFK buying one of SHR's charters and making the 60 full time for Noah Gragson. He's young and talented, and I think BK can help him improve even further. Then (bold prediction) Haley comes over to the 6 car in 2026 after BK retires from full time driving. Young, hungry stable.

I agree with Eric pretty much everywhere except I’m buying the RCR getting another charter and taking Noah Gragson with them, which would take away the 36 entry Eric was speculating of.
I think shr goes to two cars, JRM buys one and starts a cup team in the 88 next year with berry or gragson filling it. Imagine a gragson bass pro shops/Winchester car in the 88 JRM cup car. It would be awesome. Maybe he buys both and uses his new found 8 trademark and buys the number from RCR.

I think MTJ and Dale Jr are trying to link back up. I think that’s been part of the reason JR Motorsports hasn’t moved up. There was a period last year where it looked like Junior might go cup racing and MTJ wasn’t talking about resigning with JGR.
With the HUGE difference in the cars, it’s almost hard to consider the truck and Xfinity as feeder series anymore. Saying an Xfinity Champion is ready for cup just doesn’t cut it anymore.
I think that RCR might buy a charter and bring the 33 full time for Austin Hill, or if Austin Dillion retires he’ll bring Hill up into the 3, but hey, this is just a silly season prediction, we have no clue what’s coming our way.

I pretty-much agree and enjoyed this video. I disagree on one point: I think RCR buys one of the charters and puts Noah Gragson in the 33. The Bass Pro Shop relationship is there, and Noah kind of fits the outlaw RCR brand.
I think SHR sells all four, FRM gets one, RCR gets one, Trackhouse gets one and 23XI gets one.

I have a theory...I think if the charters sell for the bargain price of that 20-30 amount that is floating around there that Jr. Motorsports picks at least one up & goes Cup racing. Dale Jr. has lamented in the last few years that they possibly missed an opportunity to get one when they were cheaper and wasn't willing to pay the 40-50 million that it took to get one in the last couple years. Maybe 20-30 million will entice them to get back in the mix.

RFK is in prime position to buy a charter. They could pull Haley from RWR, put a SHR driver in the rwr car and with their last two year growth I bet they could secure investment/sponsorship for a third car. Specially considering this is probably the best chance there has been or will be in a while to get a charter.

It would be crazy if Dale Jr. got into the Cup Series this way, and it turns out Gragson is the driver he takes with him. Didn't Gragson say he would love to drive for Jr. if he had a Cup team?
As someone who started watching in 2021 when SHR was hot off 10 wins and Front Row back-doored into a Daytona 500 upset, wow is it weird seeing Front Row likely replacing SHR as one of the biggest teams in NASCAR.
Let’s do SHR will sell 2 charters for entire new team next year. Only SHR will have 2 charters will retains next year, the No.4 and No.14 have combined championship title in 14 years. No doubt about it.
