Actually some restaurants use freshly cooked rice for their fried rice recipes because the desire "dryness" can be achieved with careful water to rice ratio control and it retains more rice aroma than left over rice. For homemade fried rice, it's absolutely fine to use leftover rice, it's probably easier for most people to cook with, though.
Interesting that you should say that about fresh cooked rice in fried rice. I just saw a video on the OTR channel about the history of rice. Gordon Ramsay definitely has it! He used the traditional nasi goreng Indonesian recipe from the food vendors on the side of the street, and it’s flavorful and delicious!
In fairness, halos basic recipe yung kay Uncle Roger kaya familiar yung lasa sa kanya. Pero good job Abi for recreating ng mga fried rice kahit medyo na-distract ako sa ganda ng buhok mo, bagay kasi sayo. ✌😁
As Indonesian (Probably same with Malaysian reaction as well because we have similar tongue) Uncle Roger's one is how we also cook the fried rice, you could find it in street vendor at night for quick meal, or you can cook it yourself using the exact same ingredient The difference was we grounded the garlic+shallot+chili into wet paste. But some family in Jakarta didnt ground them and prefer only cut to pieces, So its preferences I guess That fried rice is traditional, very easy, very fast, and everybody love it. If you fucked up this version..... The next day your name will be gone from family register lol Gordon Ramsay's fired rice is 'the more expensive' one but also more flavor because Rendang is very tasty, very flavorfull In North Sumatra, my grandmother cooked Rendang fried rice using left over Rendang paste in the past So yeah it is very very tasty, but also expensive if you want to created it from start (including the Rendang paste) But it is worth it if you already created Rendang and creating large batch (Kind of similar to Curry Fried Rice) The Jamie Oliver one..... I think everyone already know its abysmal lol But the thing is, some people loves tofu (Me also) and his tofu actually can works You could fry the blocky firm tofu separately from the fried rice You could cut them as a small square, or a big square but fried using frying flour+water So you eat Fried Rice + Fried Firm Tofu, not mixed them together Which is what I eat sometimes, buying fried tofu + fried rice lol (But yeah, No hope for Water, Chili Jam and Olive oil... I tried using olive oil and its weird lol, and I cannot find Chili Jam here)
I see people roasting about the guy in white shirt for liking Jamie's fried rice. I don't against eating tofu with rice (as someone from country that ate boiled tofu with rice) I suppose you can like it? That's being said, I do get why people kinda hating on the guy. Since it was judging on which fried rice (and most important is egg fried rice), the reason you liked just because of tofu other than the flavor or the fried rice itself kinda beat the purpose. It gave the vibe you don't like fried rice itself, you just liked tofu. So are you really judging which fried rice is the best? (Like I get the feeling of times I just want only tofu/taho instead of fried rice, but like you are judging which fried rice though?) Then again, they were blindfold and also this wasn't a real competition and just one guy's preference, so I do hope people won't go after him, spreading hate comments. That being said, I was curious on the part when people who guessing the flavor, one said "Seasame oil". Olive oil and seasame oil I felt like it will taste vadly different though. Like I wish Jamie's version used anything other than olive oil (cuz it was really disgusting on rice, I have tasted it). At least with the seasame oil you kinda get the feeling sushi or sth, olive oil? Nope. Especially with tofu/taho. So I was kinda curious why they didn't taste the olive oil and even get the feeling of seasame oil though?

3:38 si ms. Abi gumamit ng pang-elevate para makapagluto ng maayos 😅 i feel you ms.abi 😁😁 labyow 😘
The only time I would put tofu in my fried rice is when the tofu is deep fried 😂
I love the 1st one because its not much overpowered or just simply fried rice that will compliments with viand
I wonder how Uncle Roger will react when he sees this video
this one is great. you put all my idols on one plate of fried rice. keep it up Abby Lumpia Queen!
I would go for Chef Gordon Ramsay Fried Rice, its like nasi goreng kampung.
Good job on fixing Jamie Oliver's fried rice. His was a liquid mush and yours was legit fried rice using his ingredients as an influence.
I dont know other people but we usually eat normal prepared rice as our main rice everyday so if there’s left over rice that’s we will use to make fried rice..but uncle roger fried rice version uses chicken rice “rice” to be prepared lol..gordon ramsey won this one imo because of day to day use of ingredients..not like uncle roger version where u have to make the chiken rice RICE first 😂😂
Oliver is the best ! I made it and was just delicious
I think after the garlic fried rice I think the ones seasoned with soy sauce is the one most familiar to Filipinos I think - there are variants with oyster sauce mixed in but also some with vinegar mixed in like it's an adobo technique.
Two People who Love Real Fried Rice..And One Who eats Tofu with anything...Each Said they Loved "Uncle Roger 🧏" Except the Girl Kind of Gave a Shout out to Gordon Ramsey..While Still Eating Uncle Roger's Rice 🍚 Even though the Competition was Over..Fuioyah!!
We need Uncle Roger to react this video
when adding sauces like soy, you apply it at the outer perimeter of the wok, not in the center. . .
yung nagdidiet ka tapos ito mapapanood mo. haiya talaga
omsim
yung may bet sa recipe ni Jamie Oliver. hahahahahaha
Crazyyyy hahahahaha idk why bet niya yon 😂
Eye Twitching as I watch you recreate Jamie 'Olive Oil' Oliver version.
9:27 Jiro never help his mother cook that's why.
As indonesian,i never taste rendang fried rice. What I usually eat is similar to Uncle Ronger's but uses "Kecap Manis"(Sweet soy sauce) and ebi or chili sauce with shrimp paste.
Not the Chaofan ad after 😂😂
I cook fried rice all the time for friends during my travel in the Philippines, both, the more chinese version* like uncle roger's or more indonesian like ramsay'. Filipino tastebuds are interesting. Normie Manilenyos really doesn't like flavours like the middle guy but Kapampangan, Maranaos, even Ilocanos they love both versions.
Anywho, where to buy galangal and lesser galangal, fresh or paste, in the PH? The last time i found it was in Baler in 2018-9, in friend' garden.
*Chinese not malaysian because it doesn't have blacan/trasi. U can substitute it with 4x of bagoong alamang ofc.
chaka mag comment nung guy sa gitna
Oo nga eh
as viet/chinese eating this for a lifetime, we need to embrace the new exploration of original recipes
Content would have been great if the 3 judges were not in it. They didn't really contribute anything but nonsense.
Fr
1st dude and the 3rd girl did fine but not great i agree with you
My favorite fried rice 🍚 is with lots of garlic, egg , fish sauce and lots of green onion and Chinese sausage..masarap 😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤
As an Indonesian who loves fried rice, Uncle Roger's recipe has the correct steps for making fried rice
Uncle Roger didn't roast Gordon on his egg-fried rice. He gave him the coveted "Uncle" title.
We've tried these 3 versions but Uncle Roger's would be the best! Gordon's version would be next. Jami Oliver's version is "ok". We actually improved his version by usinf fried tofu instead.
I don't know if it's a real thing other than in the USA, how about Singapore Mei Fun? Pretty interesting dish, one of my new favorites! Great video, keep up the great work!
Abi, ano counterpart or option sa Pinas ng galangal paste?
Where did you purchased that wok? I want one.
Try natin luto pasta sa tubig na may tinola mix. Season with maggi liquid seasoning and toss with baguio oil and boy bawang bits. Garnish with dahon ng laurel. Aglio Olio with a twist! Serve that to jamie oliver 😂
Bro wtf haha
As Indonesian I will pick the first one from Gordon Ramsay because He use sambal and rendang paste 👍🏻, and yes I love spicy food
Bring people that knows food to taste🎉
Thats true haha.
I just subscribed because I enjoy watching an adorable kid demonstrate cooking. I’m just disappointed that there is no Cantonese version, where there is NO spices, and the eggs are embedded into the rice, coating it slightly yellow.
I have actually ordered pint of chicken fried rice here in the states (Michigan) many times. Tofu is present. This is from 3 different Chinese restaurants.
Tofu in fried nice "noo". Tofu in fried rice "noo" ...Haiya 😂
Technically they preferred yours because your measurements balanced it 👏
Uncle Rogers looked tasty and sounds tasty. Rice cooked in chicken stock will always add a better taste
Foiyohhh.
For Uncle Roger
😊😊😊😊
As Indonesian (Probably same with Malaysian reaction as well because we have similar tongue)
Uncle Roger's one is how we also cook the fried rice, you could find it in street vendor at night for quick meal, or you can cook it yourself using the exact same ingredient
The difference was we grounded the garlic+shallot+chili into wet paste. But some family in Jakarta didnt ground them and prefer only cut to pieces, So its preferences I guess
That fried rice is traditional, very easy, very fast, and everybody love it.
If you fucked up this version..... The next day your name will be gone from family register lol
Gordon Ramsay's fired rice is 'the more expensive' one but also more flavor because Rendang is very tasty, very flavorfull
In North Sumatra, my grandmother cooked Rendang fried rice using left over Rendang paste in the past
So yeah it is very very tasty, but also expensive if you want to created it from start (including the Rendang paste)
But it is worth it if you already created Rendang and creating large batch
(Kind of similar to Curry Fried Rice)
The Jamie Oliver one..... I think everyone already know its abysmal lol
But the thing is, some people loves tofu (Me also) and his tofu actually can works
You could fry the blocky firm tofu separately from the fried rice
You could cut them as a small square, or a big square but fried using frying flour+water
So you eat Fried Rice + Fried Firm Tofu, not mixed them together
Which is what I eat sometimes, buying fried tofu + fried rice lol
(But yeah, No hope for Water, Chili Jam and Olive oil... I tried using olive oil and its weird lol, and I cannot find Chili Jam here)
I love Gordon one better.
I just know how it will taste just from the ingredients.Heck,i can even smell it.
The aroma of Spice.😋
I see people roasting about the guy in white shirt for liking Jamie's fried rice. I don't against eating tofu with rice (as someone from country that ate boiled tofu with rice) I suppose you can like it? That's being said, I do get why people kinda hating on the guy. Since it was judging on which fried rice (and most important is egg fried rice), the reason you liked just because of tofu other than the flavor or the fried rice itself kinda beat the purpose. It gave the vibe you don't like fried rice itself, you just liked tofu. So are you really judging which fried rice is the best? (Like I get the feeling of times I just want only tofu/taho instead of fried rice, but like you are judging which fried rice though?)
Then again, they were blindfold and also this wasn't a real competition and just one guy's preference, so I do hope people won't go after him, spreading hate comments.
So I was kinda curious why they didn't taste the olive oil and even get the feeling of seasame oil though?
i would love an addition of Thai Seafood Fried Rice 🤩
Abi elevated Jaime's recipe. That's why it tasted so much better. Gordon's fried rice recipe is better. Uncle Roger's is a top tier.
If you can handle spice, than the first one is the best for you😊
Uncle roger rice is the best one of the three. By far. Without a doubt. It's so good.
All the asian ancestors are legit crying at the guy with the glasses. 😭 Ridiculous choosing Jamie's version LOL
I add Madame Jeanette peppers, so good
