I bought my house in 1981 and bought a condo near 😮Bloor & Yonge in 2001 for rental income. At age 72 I am vacationing in Mexico as I don't know what else to do with my real estate profits. Buy low, sell high.

So no more condos!!!! This is a biggest mistake of all times! Thanks mister Storey, who used to push for condos.

How the concierge handles deliveries (e.g. organization, permission granted to the courier, communication with the recipient) during high periods can surprisingly give you an idea into the building management and its policies, given concierge is a proxy to management. I remember viewing a property at Playground Condos in Liberty Village and seeing couriers entering the building without friction, people waiting to speak to concierge, and packages left out in the open.

Today in 2024, the biggest mistake is to buy any type of real estate. real estate investing is now a game of musical chairs.

@@SteveKarrasch In 2005, a typical Ontario home sold for $263,000. Last year, the average Ontario home sold for $932,000 - a more than three-fold increase in just 17 years. A young family - even one making a decent middle-class income - simply can't afford that same home anymore or even a townhouse.

I'm proud that I own my home. I know a lot of Canadians feel the same.

At least you have a chair to sit down....instead of stand waiting for magical chair to be sprouting from the ground
