Well with my hooked up to an RV it helps keep the pressure in the lines but is not necessary that is for sure.. but the heck valve between the well and pump is..
Same is happening to me, no water coming out after I thought I primed it 3 times just little to no water coming out 🥺 its and old baseman well. I hear something like a rattle inside de metal encasing, any ideas?
so after adding some more water it was able to get primed and you will see in part 5 that the water started flowing... make sure you add enough water. probably 32 to 48 ounces
It’s imperative that the line from the water to the inlet of the pump is full of water “primed.” If there’s air in there it will not get proper suction and blow the pump motor. Thank you for posting though. I just bought this for a tank and preparing for install
How deep is your down rod into your well? I have the same pump. My pipe into the well casing is 22' down with a foot valve. The water level measured at 18' so I figured 22' would be deep enough. Apparently it isn't because it keeps sputtering air and then eventually loses prime. I'm going to try extending the down pipe to 26' which supposedly is the maximum suction depth. If that doesn't work I guess I'm screwed. Any suggestion?
Also I suggest adding a check valve between the pump and the well.

How has the pump held up? I hear the newer China-made ones only last 6-18 months.
I just replaced it with a new one.. still worked but had slowed down.. so it last 4 years for me
