In the late 17th century, a pair of Puritan witch hunters travel to a small Massachusetts town investigating rumors of devil worship, and are irrevocably transformed by the ungodly forces they encounter.

Good lord, that is disturbing and I assume that it would not be boring at all when the human psychology of it isn't scrubed off the intended script like they do in Hollywood.

This movie is like a combination of Blair Witch Project, Blood Meridian, and the Exorcist all wrapped up in a big bow of “what the hell did I just witness”

Congrats on making such a memorable, unique film. It was a great watch. I’m actually a little surprised at how good it is. You really got some great actors, the soundtrack is insanely good, and the way you shot this film creates a heightened sense of dread throughout the entire movie. I feel like the fact that everyone spoke so accurately added to that tension as well. I’m just really impressed overall.

Damn, this would kill in a bigger venue. This is right up there with all my favorite historical scifi: Ravenous, The Witch, Brotherhood of the Wolf, The Village etc. This movie and frankly the entire genre need more attention. I want more!!!!!! 🤬

I grew up a few towns over than you and I share a lot of your opinions about NE in general (the recent thing about ME having only 163 Dunkins killed me) and about colonial MA especially, so I’ve been looking forward to this film since you first announced you were making it. And I’m glad you decided to release it yourself. Here’s hoping you make a good deal of cash to spread around to your cast and crew.

Just watched it! It’s an experience I never thought a movie could bring, and the short moments of tenderness in between the abject chaos made it easily one of my favorite films.

Without spoiling anything, This movie masters the art of making you uncomfortable in ways that are funny, creepy, and downright disturbing. It attempts to show content I have never seen portrayed in a film before and likely will not again. I have no idea where you found professional actors willing to act out what they did or make it believable with as much energy as they were clearly putting into their performances. I'm not even upset at the CGI quality that is bound to show up in every independently made film because I'm hoping the money saved was put towards MH care for your team if they even needed it.
Already seen the film twice, but I bought it anyways just to watch the behind-the-scenes documentary. Absolutely worth the money!
I was absolutely blown away by how this film on a shoe string budget was better written, probably better directed, and did a better job with historic period pieces than your typical Hollywood $100 million dollar film. If only the Patriot were half as well done. It reminded me of the Blair Witch Project, which is another film I thought was very well made that I enjoyed. I guess maybe the fact that I grew up in rural Illinois spending many a night in deep, dark woods haunted by ancient Indian mounds and forts makes me a sucker for the setting.
And for the people who are getting butt hurt over the devil imagery, you have to understand that this film was written from the perspective of the worldview of Puritan settlers. I'm a conservative Christian myself, and found that it "actually validates" a Christian worldview. I was suprised by that... as I was expecting some M. Night Shyamalan "pscyhe! there's really no monster, just your own psychology!" type stuff... but if I interpretted it correctly; the Devil, witches, and spirits are very real in this film. That's consistent with Christian ontology, so Christians need to stop crying.
Andrew is really incredible and, despite the fact that we probably vote differently, I have developed a great deal of respect for his unique perspectives and artistic capability. Absolutely love the "Checkmate Lincolnites" series even though it has destroyed my own mythologies about the Confederacy! Ok, I'll end this by saying that this movies deserves to get attention and Andrew is an incredibly talented individual with a great artistic vision. I look forward to seeing what more he comes up with in the future.
i've been following your work on youtube for a few years now, and I haven't been this excited to watch a period folk horror piece since The VVitch! Just bought myself a copy, please never stop telling stories, for as long as it feeds your soul.

Bravo, to all involved in the production of The Sudbury Devil. 👏Thank you all for your hard work and passion for this project. It shows up on screen, from title to credits. The music is so incredibly well done, too. It has such an eerie and uncanny vibe that makes even a couple minute sequence of walking tense and fear inducing. I am absolutely floored by this film and cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next. Also, for fear of losing my.. uh.. yea,no... this particular Masshole will NOT be walking through these Berkshire hills alone anytime soon... thanks for that.

I just got done watching this and I can't express how much I loved this. To avoid any spoilers the sense of unease this movie creates is amazing. Everything about this film just made me uncomfortable from start to finish. The closest comparison I can make is The Lighthouse from 2019 or even The Wicker Man.

Watched this with my bf the other night and we couldn't believe that it was the first Christmas movie we saw this year. Bloody twisted in all the best ways, you and your team did an amazing job. I really truly hope you decide to make another film someday, I can only imagine what you guys would do with a much larger budget.
Purchased the movie not only out of trust that it will be a unique, quality film but out of principle, because I respect you as a creator and as an individual. I am excited to see what you will bring into the fold of cinema as an independent creator.

THE SOUNDTRACK, THE CLASSIC SCREEN RATIO, THE WELL DONE SHOTS
from the trailer alone and this, I can see such well used motifs (inspirations? idk im not english) and such that reference such things as cosmic horror, woods style horror, the use of gore, atmospheric color, music, and all really remind me of things such as ravenous, blair witch, the witch (2015), and a little bit of the brotherhood of the wolf, among others.
I was wishing for more films that have the witch huntin atmosphere, but I never knew I'd come across something this nice and epic in my lifetime. (But of course, as someone who has been watching this channel for some years now, I'm amazed at how everything that comes from it is so quality 😊)

This has the same ambiance as a 70s horror film which is almost nonexistent in 21st century cinema. Can't wait to buy this and stream it on my Steam device somehow.

I just saw the movie and making of, I really liked it. It reminded me of A Field in England. The dialogue was fantastic. I think you guys actually lucked out with the weather it gives the whole film a sense of uncomfortable dread. I am excited to see what you guys can do next.

We found both the film and as much of the commentary as we've gotten through to be very interesting. There were some scenes where I was reminded of a mostly very different movie: the Jeff Daniels film Escanaba in Da Moonlight, set in the Michigan UP.

I was finally able to watch the movie as of tonight and WOW I fucking love this film. I don't want to spoil anything for people who haven't seen it but while the entire cast is incredible, I think Andy kind of steals the show for the scenes he's in.

Permanent access via streaming site. To paraphrase Al Yankovic, there is Very Probably No (VPN) way to get a digital download legally. I'm sure you have a TORRENT of other questions but I'll have to leave it at that.

@@AtunSheiFilms 1) 16.58Gb is literally 10 times what the file size should be. A resolution of 2880x2160 is simply too much for most users at this time. If you wish to broaden the viewership, recode it to 1080p and about 2Gb in size. 2) Although your encode is H264 MPEG-4, your file extension is MOV. All the best current encoders are using MKV, and so should you. There is plenty of free video editing software that can re-encode for you. I'd do it for you, no charge, if you ask. 3) You need subtitles. It's very hard to understand the words with the period accurate accents. With a transcript I'm willing to do those for you and encode them into an MKV file that will work a lot better than your current, uh, reddit comments file. Again, no charge. (It's my choice of charity work I do for the hearing impaired. I set my own tasks and don't get asked for money.) You can see some of my srt files searching my user name at subscene.
Horror movies arent my thing but I am intrigued. Especially curious about what "horny" might mean in this context.
