Just want to tell you, I'm really enjoying these challenges. Whether it be Minecraft, Project Zomboid, The Sims, whatever. I really like these very specific challenges and mods. It's fun to see you try to adapt.

I’ve been loving these videos as well! I’ve seen other youtubers and streamers do most of these but Kevin’s personality adds so much to the challenge, you just don’t get the same chaos with others that you get with Kevin

But outside of Minecraft your body would just be juiced whenever you hit the ceiling
Unfortunately, outside of a video game, you get fall damage from going fast on the ceilings too, and the walls.

If Kevin is ever looking to revisit this challenge, I would recommend taming a horse for traversing the overworld - horses in Minecraft are able to automatically climb a single block, so there's no need to jump. That would make traversing the world much easier.

Do you think this mod makes them jump the same height and take the same degree of damage as the player? Because I don't think Kevin is beyond taming a group of sacrificial stallions to hop from one place to the next...

Since jump boost on the player doesn't affect their horse, he could jump without fear of dying as long as he's always on his horse.
You're not thinking quite big enough. Mules are the galaxy brain strat here; loyal, steadfast companions with an inventory. They're practically a shulker box with a speed boost if you breed them right. Granted, he'd need a saddle for that, but fishing in deep enough water sources should net one eventually, and it'd help him with food
The cosmic irony of Kevin not finishing his path home because he died, then about 15 minutes later finding the same path after repeated deaths, forgetting why he died, then dying in the exact same way
If you keep doing this, use slabs instead of stairs. You get more out of each block and they work exactly the same
They should be superior. You'll never accidentally place a slab down facing the wrong way. Frickin' stair blocks...
He should also carry a water bucket around, both so he can survive falls and scale blocks.
He did use slabs, you can see them at 6:28 on the left

Honestly it would make more sense to just put 2x2 water supplies everywhere and then just slab platforms right next to the water so he can travel above ground
If anyone was wondering how Kevin avoided damage at certain heights its because jump boost also decreases fall damage, it just so happens that the decrease in fall damage doesn't scale as fast as the actual fall damage. According to the wiki once you hit level 30 you can die from just jumping.

I like how he just could place the water on the next block up, but he's determined to hit the MLG water bucket
New challenge: every few steps you take, you move a larger distance (or you just get faster, if it's easier to code.) That way, it's incentivized to walk backwards or laterally, like a crab.
Unless you fling off over the horizon eventually.
how about this except there’s a cooldown so if you stop moving it slowly decreases the speed back to normal - that way there’s strategy involved and you can get some longevity out of the concept

Trees could actually be quite useful for this mod. They can provide a useful ceiling to hit your head on when you try to jump up ledges.

FYI when u have jump boost it reduces your fall damage. That’s why you’d drop and not take damage a lot of the time

Fun fact: when you have the jump boost affect, to make it actually useful, you also don't take fall damage from falls.
You do take fall damage its just reduced
It increases the height where you dont take fall damage just like how you're safe falling 2 blocks
1. Use slabs instead of stairs (that or make a grindstone, but that would be more effort for equal reward)
2. Jump decreases fall damage by 1 block per level
3. USE F3

Iron is actually no longer very often in caves, it's usually now in the center of mountains, very fitting for this challenge.
Kevin trying to get his stuff back is like that recurring nightmare where you try really hard to get somewhere and no matter what you do, you just never arrive
I'd love to see a 'Minecraft but I cannot leave the cave" challenge where you can't go outside, see the sun and have to survive underground, or more project zombid videos. Either would be super cool.

kevin you could definitely use the water to get up even if you can't "water bucket clutch" you can use it to swim up edges and then just pick it up. then you won't even need to jump. or place it before you jumo and make sure it's big enough to easily land in. goodluck
Honestly everytime I watch Kevin do one of these self imposed challanges I find myself in thralled throughout the whole expirence. 10/10 would watch again. Also I suggest stairs I don't think those count as a jump unless it is counting jumps as raising one block. Update: you used stairs I just didn't notice lol.

Here’s a tip: slabs are more material efficient than stairs

Fun fact: Fall Damage scales inversely with Jump Boost, so the greater your jump boost, the less a fall will damage you, at a rate of 1 less Damage each Level of Jump Boost.
This is why Kevin's legs are only fractured, and not shattered.
