The top layer of the Compost Bin is yet to rot down, so what I'm going to do is scoop it off to access the rotted material below. The top layer will then become the bottom layer and the cycle will continue. The more air you introduce to the material, the quicker it rots down, and then you end up with healthier, well balanced compost that will be full of nutrients and beneficial bacteria that will in turn feed all the soil micro-organisms.
Wait until you see the quality of the compost that has only been in there for about 9 months. I'll be showing you the finished product in another video very soon, but for now, it's sitting in containers ready to be put to use as and when required.
