Till 1990s class annual exams was must & many use to fail till 10th( not just daliths), so drop outs. Even now when I go to banks, I write challan for youths in 20s or 30s or cannot operate ATM in Kannada. What excuse you can give?
BTW, just observe people with less education have far better human values thn educated. See US & west with 100% education has highest crimes. It is totally false notion that only school education does wonders!

Without knowing the language he will not be able to understand Manusmriti. He has read English translated version of Manusmriti. No society perfect.
