I've found the best fix to be plain old silicone sealant. Mine had gaping holes in the seams in the crotch. I put on multiple coats of flex seal and as soon as I got in the water the flex seal tore and leaked. I bought some loctite brand silicone sealant and filled in the area. When that cured I started putting on several layers of silicone on top of that. The silicone seems to bond to the rubber better then the flex seal.
I got rubber boots from Five Below store for $5. I use a wool insert padding I got in Sweden. And I use Dollarama $4 100% wool socks. Wool absorbs massive amounts of moisture and is naturally antimicrobial so it never stinks. These $4 wool socks are one of my most prized possession because of when I wear these boots. I hate wearing sweat-soaked socks inside my boots! Hard to find 100% wool socks these days!
Well it got me through another season it’s not perfect but since I know I’m gonna get wet and I’m only using them for 3 to 4 hours at a time. I just keep plugging away so much better than spending one to $200 every season on a new set.
@@northwoodsdiscovery6962 I hear you 100% man. I had bought a cheap pair of Dunlop boots and plan on doing what you did. We'll see how it goes! Thank you again brother!🙏👍
That’s a great question I use and abuse these so much. I use for hunting fishing lure finding and walking in the woods in early wet spring. So much abuse.
I opened my paste to see what it looked like then closed it back same way.. week later ready for project and it’s hard the whole can. It’s 28* so not sure if the cold hardened it but can I melt this stuff to soften it??
Dude I’m in my waiters from Spring I stop for the summer I’m in three seasons just got a pair of waders last month and they’re fucking ruined frog tog made in China no offense to the Chinese but they make some crappy shit supply in the man I guess you would think with the biggest Fishing Industry they would cut you a break on your waders better fabric better ideas but I’m gonna try this spray shit hopefully it works rubber on rubber rubber or neoprene much should say hopefully it seals the deal lol get it
lol Yes I get it and I am frustrated too at the poor quality items that are hitting the shelves. Let me know if this worked for you. I bought another pair of waders as a backup.
U should work for Porsche in their spray booth and body repair section.. lmfao😂❤
I will apply. lol
Still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up

Wow thanks so much. I wish the waders just lasted longer. There has to be a better material. Thanks for watching.

Most of them time
Mine are sweat soaked and river soaked lol
How has the flex seal held up since you've used them?

If paste hardens in jar can I heat it up to soften it??
Is there something that can be done to the waders to prevent cracking? Like when ppl use conditioners on their leather car seats?
That’s a great question

Gear Aid "Revivex" rubber boot treatment 👍

I would not risk it. The heat will most likely change the quality.

Tried it , didn’t hold up
How bad were the cracks. What was outside temp when applied. How cold was air and water when you used fixed item.
My problem is I can’t wait 24 hours lol
oh boy i know the feeling. how is the repair going.
The plastic peeled off of mine after doing lol
Did you scrub clean. And then wait for it to totally cure before. Moving the item. Was it warm enough in the area you were in?
Dry rot
Yes that happens sometimes. I would think they could handle it better. Waders used to last 10 years or more without dry rot.
